Okay Mr. T-Head or whatever your name is...
I don't know you, and I've never seen you post before, but that logic that you so profoundly used in an attempt to validate your claim of ALL of Scandinavia is not only irrelevent, but it amazes me that population is the one thing you think of. The economic power of just Norway is years ahead from, oh, say, Vietnam. But look at the population differences. The same can be said for Denmark, Sweden, and Finland as well.
But the economic power of these nations is not the one thing that can warrant their separation. You must also see the cultural side. Have the peoples of Scandinavia ever gotten along? Absolutely not. Have they been at almost continuous war for centuries (excluding the 20th...)? Yes. A real-life, peaceful merging of those four nations is very improbable.
So if the business of unrealistic claims is what people deal with around here....then perhaps I should just go. I'll see Polaris and Scott at DotW.

Alright. As claims mod I will take action to end this bickering.
The following people have claimed multiple nations in their claims:
Scott F (me)
T-Head (Coug)
Hodad
Spartan
Giancarlo
Geography Dan (claimed parts of Canada)
Napoleon Bonaparte
All of these people, save Spartan, need to provide good stories as to how their nation came into existance. The same goes for the other American nations.
I agree that many claims are unrealistic and large. Each player is to be given one chance to post about the origins of their nation. They had better make a good story, or their claim will be altered by an act of god.

T-Head, you missed Eddie's point. Scandinavia is too strong economically. The CSA is not unrealistic. If the US falls then the CSA will spring to life. The US is split up for the same reason you cant combine Scandinavia. These are the rules. Live with them. And Eddie is also right about the fact that the Scandinavian Penninsula people will most likely never get along. We can blame this on the Soviets and the Allies of old among other more historical reasons. If you can take all of Scandinavia, then I woulda had Spain and France plus the Lowlands.

Ok... hmm... The Union of Kalmar was never dissolved, power was moved from Copenhagen to Stockholm. There was a long time of internal struggles. The 18th and 19th century saw the emergence of an educated elite which struggled to rid themselves of the monarchy. In 1956, the revolution started, which lasted for several years and ruined most of SUSRs infrastructure etc. The industry is being built up, but takes time. Hence, I've got all of Scandinavia, but the industrial and economical power of Scandinavia is now limited. Sounds ok?

As for people getting along in Scandinavia, this has now been solved. I do agree that most people in Scandinavia wouldn't really get along. This is changing though.

In the year 2000, massive crime, civil insurrection and internal corruption ravaged america. The nation was placed under martial law and the president suspended the constitution for the duration of the crisis. The southern party, dominant in the old confederacy, rose to power and led the people in a revolution against the federal troops occupying the cities and highways. Within a month, the troops realized that the US was dead, its rulers had tried to subdue the people with force and defeat freedom with a nazi police state. The Confederate States had rose again, and this time, they would never fall.
Then, Fidel Castro died, and the Cuban government collapsed, and in the first CSA military action, Cuba was peacefully annexed as a Confederate State. Mexico tried to grab Texas for its floundering bureacuracy, but was stopped by militia members, and then the CSA army attacked and took Sonora and Chihuahua to open the Pacific to the Confederacy.
OOC: This was an attempt to make some friction between me and the Mexican player! Other american nations, come on make your stories!!
