Ok, in reading Asher's posts throughout these last, uh, just a little over two pages, I find three "common denominators" in them:

1. lies
   
2. intentional ignoring of previously stated facts
   
3. it's not what he argues, it what he doesn't mention that he already knows to try to trick people
   

And all in the name of his own entertainment, too. How sad is that? Asher must be really bored to have to resort to such down and dirty deceptions in order to keep from being bored. Can't find he find something else to do? Like go out on the town and go someplace fun, instead of sticking around his dorm and trolling Poly?

It's likely that Asher will immediately deny the accusations I've made (which are no doubt so obvious they've got to be true), once again all in the name of his own entertainment. And if he does, everyone just ignore him. Don't feed him his desire for this kind of entertainment; that would be a mistake and only fuel his passion for more. Instead, make him feel bored until he gives up and stops trolling Poly.

No more Mr. Nice Guy.

JohnT never made a post to me.

He did point out that it wasn't actually Xerox PARC that invented the GUI, which is a rather moot point because the fact remains it wasn't Apple.

To say Apple is "smarter" than its competitors is ridulous when it is a mere fraction of the size of its competitors. To claim that Apple is more innovative than MS is also ridulous, in terms of patents and real-world applications.

People were owned, and I wasn't one of them.

See, that's innovation and R&D. What Apple does is take techniques developed like this, and introduces them to the marketplace, usually well before they're ready (see: speech recognition passwords). People who don't know any better attribute this to Apple being innovative.

Yeah, right. Apple has had full speech recognition working since OS 9. It works perfectly, even with my strange accent.

I can walk into the room and tell my computer to get my mail and it works just fine. It's a pity that Apple has left room for other companies like IBM to develop dictation software, because I'd like to be able to dictate email by voice. I can already tell the machine to bring up a compose email window and tell it who to send it to.

Strange but fun.

It's amusing that you insist speech recognition is perfect in its state right now. It's also amusing that no one in the industry would agree with you.

That should say a lot about your credibility with such things.
