I think everyone got their introduction to Mech through the videogames. While on the other hand ST and SW were introduced through movies, then reinforced through videogames.

Did you guys ever hear about the time that there was a Star Wars convention across from a Trek convention, and there was a riot? I heard some people died in it. Anybody else heard aobut this, or is it just an urban legend?

Some things like the LOTR is fantasy. Somethings like Space Above and beyond is science fiction. star wars clearly has huge elements of fantasy.
