No offense, drouge, but you seem like a pretty boring roleplayer. Explore your evil, twisted, side. |
What I mean by roleplaying is playing as if ythe PC were me. I'm not evil, therefore I can't roleplay as me an evil character. I could roleplay it, as in doing what they would do, but I'd rather try it this time as me.
Also, IMHO, there's nothing more interesting than Chaotic Neutral - unpredictable, gambles everything on the role of a die, all about having fun and they get to do good and evil quests, whatever takes their fancy. Evil is so cliched in BG

Can you dualclass a Swashbuckler with a fighter? Although then I can't backstab. I've played BGI with a PC thief.
I'm more thinking towards a fighter cleric or ranger cleric, either dual or multi-classed. Although a fighter-thief would be fun, and as your suggestion, a half-orc can romance Virconia.
So:
CN half-orc fighter/thief
Virconia (romance)
Yoshi->Imoen
Korgan
Edwin
Any NPC (who?)
Or:
NG human fighter/ranger+cleric (dualed) or elven fighter/ranger+cleric (multi)
Jahiera or Aerie (romance)
Yoshi->Imoen
Keldorn
Kelsey
Minsc
Which is better? The latter has a better RP BGI team (Jaheira, Khalid, Minsc, Dynaheir, Imoen) whereas the former can be used as a BGI team too (except for the last NPC). I more leaning towards the latter, since I've played as a thief more, and I like the idea of a fighter/cleric combi. Also, the hide+backstab seems a little cheesy, and takes longer.
Whatever I have, the character will have 18/19 str, 18/19 dex, 18/19 con, then for the f/t, 18 cha, and for the f/c, 18 wis. The others will be whatever else is left.

Hahaha!!!!!! BG Noob!!!!1!eleven! Umm... I mean... Theifs can only backstab with weapons usable by a pure thief. This includes staffs swords etc... but no items that normally cannot be used by a thief. So Staff of the Ram is fine, Staff of the Magi is not, Rynn's Staff is fine, Staff of the Woodlands is not...
See?

Very nearly my current game I started last night. No Yoshi, and no intrntion of getting Imoen though. I may kill her or have Edwin turn her to stone. (I'm playing an EVIL party, right?) and the last slot is empty, so only 4 characters. I drank all the Potions of Master Theivery I could afford (7 I think) and then stole literally everything in the whole town from both shops and pockets, selling the stuff I didn't want to one of the blackmarket shops. It was VERY tedious, but the party is now rich and very well equipped, considering we havn't even done the Circus Tent or the Copper Corenet, just the minimum to get Edwin and Viccy.
I like stealing stuff

Do you people use character scripts and if yes, then what? I dabbled a bit in scripting and most of all tried to create a script that changes from dual-wield to a bow (or crossbow) automatically. I did manage to do this somehow, but it wasn't very pretty or practical. If someone knows a script that does it, I sure would be interested.

Ring of the Ram, Ring of Energy (if it works)... um... that's all I can think of
I have a problem: I DLed Tutu, installed BGI, installed Tutu (all fine so far) but it won't play. I loaded up BGII, went to new game, character creation, all went fine, but when it got to the game it said "loading game" as usual, then just went to windows, and the BG window crashed.
The only thing that went at all wrong in the install was the BGI install. I custom installed and clicked every box, and while it showed the correct ~2300MB needed, it only showed 2047MB available, when there was actually over 6GB free on that drive. I clicked all, and when it said there's not enough room, should I continue, clicked yes, and it appears to all be there (It's ~2300MB in size). Could that be it, that while it's installed everything, it doesn't know it's all installed? If so, I'll need to re-install BGI, but how do I rectify the problem of it thinking there's only 2047MB free, where there is much more? Help is much needed!
Also, I presume I open BGII to play Tutu? I opened BGI as well, and that didn't work either, it got as far as new game, and then said it's missing a directory file (as expected, if Tutu altered it).
