as for difficulty level: in SP i can deal with emperor AI, in PBEM it get's harder because i can't chose when to fight my wars (alliances, etc). so i would massively prefer emperor to deity

no, i havn't as i'm not really sure, what we should do. i'm somehow tempted to go for an even faster game (where people who're available longer and at similar times like me... so basicly you and probably smellymummy), otoh rommel2d may want to play a game after starting the tournament organisation (which would mean only 1 round per day... so probably that would be the game with 2 civs per person).

I have signed up for a war in the pacific game at cfc, which Eliit has joined too.

I think the four we have in the highspeed game is a good crew and we are doing really well with that game IMHO.

that game at CFC has stalled already before the first turn has been completed

How about if the four of us you, smelly, Eliit and me play as a coalition against the Japs played by a Sid level AI ?

but i've never played a conquests scenario (only started the regicide one in japan but didn't ever finish after getting the annoying FP-bug )

i guess smellymummy would play the yanks, CM commonwealth... which would leave china and the netherlands to eliitmees and me... ofcourse noone is forced to do so

50 turns will make this PBEM last around two months... which seems ok to me...

I would not mind which nation I took and will have whatever is left, sabre if this is a go with smelly and Eliit, would you mind setting it up please ?

Although I spend lots of time online, I run my own business, and work all day on site then spend evenings doing paperwork etc inbetween turns. Plus putting my four kids to bed feeding the dog and doing the will of she who must be obeyed

when you say "on site", that sounds quite like something in the construction industry. architect? engineer?

for the next 5 months i'm writing my master thesis and applying for jobs... so i'm more or less 18 hours online. of course, i can't play while my professor is looking over my shoulder, but i could take my notebook for a short walk
that was the short version of my current (eventless) life

sm, was that a yes or a no?
don't worry about sid. as we're all allies, we can communicate and coordinate our forces to take out the japanese city by city (what is actually the goal of this scenario? tactical nuke on hiroshima? )

come to think of it... a regular sid game could be fun too. who survives the longest because all humans will be rushing towards the great library

but in such a game, the map would have to be set up by someone to make sure we all would have equal starts and more important... starts good enough to survive the AI bullying

i don't know about the others, but imho you can be the 4th player in the WW2 scenario.
if the others have no objection, i'll start a new thread with this scenario.

about an epic PBEM game: why don't you start one? open a new thread in this forum with your ideas preinform us here (:lol. starting a PBEM game is no problem.. all you need to know is who plays when. that's what you can figure out in the pregame discussion

that's not how i meant it when i said 4th player (i was thinking 4th player in the group, after smellymummy, chrisiusmaximus and me).

but you brought up an issue which i hadn't thought about:
we have have to play in a certain succession, and so is the scenario (netherlands, US, commonwealth, china, (japan)).
we're likely going to play
chrisiusmaximus --> sabrewolf --> redboy --> smellymummy (or the other way around for the 2 north americans)

if i start the game, that would make
sabrewolf=netherlands
redboy=US
smellymummy=commonwealth
chrisiusmaximus=china
or (less likely)
sabrewolf=netherlands
smellymummy=US
redboy=commonwealth
chrisiusmaximus=china

i'll test later on if the succession can be chosen more freely...

Wow, actually that takes a load of my mind. As the Chinese I have only ever been able to hold everything till the end (with great difficulty and swearing) and that most assuradly was not on SID difficulty. How does splitting the US affect what the players hold? IE Who has the Fleet, Which cities are owned by who?
