So now we are 20, lets make 4 games with 5 in each.
And have the same map in all game. This could be really fun.

I would suggest 5 games of four each with the same map.

Only four per PBEM should make them go faster.

And if it works out maybe we could clump the Europeans and the North Americans into the same PBEMs so we could all get online occassionally and crank out some turns.

I think (im not sure where everyone is from) that MWIA is the only Kiwi/ Aussie we have so maybe we can get him on a team with three west coasters so the time difference would not be all that great.

This is just a thought to try and speed up the process.

Increase Your PM Length

I figure we'll go with 4 games of 5. We wanted to simulate the C3C ISDG rules where the goal is to be one of the 3 survivors, and now we can do that with all games.

I'll work on splitting up the players soon.

Tired of ads?

Having BFM make a universal map would seem a good idea to me, assuming he's willing to set up all those first turn moves for each one.

Put an end to popups!

And now, the moment I know you've all been waiting for with bated breath...

Here's the sorting. Note that I have people in order purely by timezone; the players in each game should refine it among themselves. Also, if BFM is starting these off, it might be more convenient for him if the order is rotated around so that the first player is in a timezone close to BFM's.

Oh, and UnO and WIA ended up in the same game. I swear I did nothing to influence it; the random number generator just worked it out that way.

GAME 1
MrWhereItsAt: China (08)
Rhothaerill: Celts (12)
UnOrthOdOx: Japan (13)
Master Zen: Persia (14)
ZargonX: Byzantines (15)

GAME 2
Togas: Iroquois (12)
SirOsis: Random (12)
Kloreep: Mayans (14)
Octavian X: Netherlands (14)
Beta: Romans (15)

GAME 3
Paddy the Scot: Celts (05)
Arnelos: Carthage (13)
conmcb25: Iroquois (14)
GodKing: Random (15)
jagjef: France (21)

GAME 4

China and Japan... the two great East Asian civs.... perhaps we will start right next to each other? Of course we have to survive MZ's Immortals and Rho's Gallics first....

What are the numbers after each name, exactly? They are related to timezone, but how exactly?

It's simply the time in each timezone when I made the tentative playing orders, according to the timezone listed for each person.

We need two things:
A. Finalized playing orders
B. We need a map (BFM? You still up for it? )

Once those are done with, the games can begin.

GK given the Maya.

And on the turn orders: General playing times are good for the other players to know. But if you want changes in the playing orders, please suggest specific ones. I'm too lazy/time constrained to sort through what everyone's posted about their playing times and make adjustments. Not to mention dealing with more than two timezones at once can make my head spin.

I assume that once we get the map/scenario, we can probably figure things out and start. Is the first turn going to be played through by the admin or something first?

As the Oracle predicted, WIA is doomed to fall by my hands.

Hmm. Time for a new avatar...

As for times I really end up playing: Weekdays, usually end up playing evening Mountain time, though that's only due to the fact I rarely have any waiting me in the ungodly AM hours I'm always online before work (AKA around midnight for WIA...). Weekends...just scattered whenever I can log on.

Yeah, the map is the main thing; we can always just go with current playing order.

As for the first turn, I was thinking we'd have an admin (BFM if he does a map for us?) play each first player's first turn so we can get an admin password set, and play on from there.

However, we could also do the skip-everyone's-first-turn (so the admin can enter passwords) method.

Now that I think about it, I think that's what we should do; while I don't like the break from the normal Civ3 date system, the game can be brought in line by adding an extra turn on to the beginning and "starting" in 4050 BC.

No, I wasn't thinking the first player's turns would be skipped; rather that the admin would send them screenies and have them give orders so the admin could play for them.

However, skipping everyone's first turn while the admin enters passwords should work better. And it's not inconvenient for the admin to do it for people they can't meet in chat.
