Yep - kicking myself for not building a barracks.

Dropping the cats risk us losing them to horsemen...but we can cover them with 2 mercs.


I assume CoD told them this was a Python war, and they should attack first.
Stupid Python.

I agree to drop the cats & pull out mercs.
They wont survive a CoD attack.

It's up to you with what you want to do about the leftover units in Whale Song.
Let them be killed...attack a stack...or abandon them.

I went with the drop the cats and pick up the mercs option. I destroyed the last two catapults in Whale Song. I was tempted to kill all the units as well, in order to at least deny them the chance at a GL, but ... they may still kill some units, and... it forces them to take Whale Song, which should give us one more turn to scamper north. The good thing is that Python did not have much in the way of horsemen - and they were the northern stack.

This should be entertaining.

Not sure how many elites they had. Not many I think.

Only GS can generate leaders that easily.

I dropped our Mercs behind enemy lines.
We should be safe...unless they have a tonne of horsemen we dont know about still out of sight.

500ad turn played.

Looks like they attacked with galleys near monkey island. One is gone, the other damaged and promoted. Two of theirs are still floating.

Catapults on Monkey Island reduce botah galleys to one HP, and SS Mosquito sinks one, and then forts in the harbour.

Other galleys on the move.

Now - the mercs. Lots of possibilities - including individual counter attacks, moving north, taking the worker, and having the three in the south sitting still and healing. In the end - I moved all the mercs to the one forest tile between the two landing sites. From there - we can move west to the coast. Maybe pick them up again after the galleys have dropped off the catapults.

Would be nice to get a couple turns to heal, but it looks like there is a basic road network established, so I doubt that will be possible.

Another option - we have a settler. We could ship him over - set up a town, rush walls, and make them do it all over again.

Or we just keep them busy for a bit longer - and then start cashing units in for the shields, and to lower our costs.

Galleys unload their units on Monkey Island
And are refilled with new fresh mercs.
- Beta, you can unload them again, or transport them to the main continent next turn.

8? Mercs on the mainland are moved to the next ivory tile.
The Python stack was right next to them. My guess, they were 1 movement short from destroying us.

The move only allows Python horsemen to attack.


Next turn, you can either rescue our forces.
Dump a fresh set of mercs on the mainland.
Bring everyone home and call it quits.
- A few options.

Anarchy finished ... And was restarted again. (hopefully the last time.)


Once the mainland campaign is done, I wont be playing anymore.
I dont really want to play out the rest of the game as a 2 city civ.


Beta.. if you can get one of the teams to resettle us in ex LL territory, that may be your only chance of rebuilding.

Sunk CoD galley using SS Mosquito - or Preying Mantis. One of the bugs.

Moved settler and several units to abandoned city site. Moved stack north to the same site. We can either establish another city and cost them mor eturn and effort - or bail out as they get there.

Any thoughts???

Actually Beta,

If it was just me, I would disband everything & call it a game

If you want to build up your island, I would return everything and disband the units to rush your harbours & whatever else.

If you want to continue to harass them, keep using the galleys to bunny hop along the coast. My guess is that the other peninsula is probably lightly defended. Maybe take a few over there and just pillage some roads & be a nuisance.

Take the population over to the island, then build up for continued harassment operations.

Or just call it a game as H_E suggested. With my current work issues, I cant be a help anytime soon.

Pulled half our units out. The northern stack.

The southern stack moved 1 to a point of land where they can be evacuated next turn.

Went back into anarchy - hopefully for the last time. Am contacting MAST and LL for Monarchy.

LL looks like they are hurting from the map.

I will probably stick it out for awhile - and see what chaos I can casue.

Final evacuation from the continent.

A long and difficult retreat, but we made them use time and resources.

We have numerous units to cash in.

As I now go into building up pirate island, and as no one has indicated they are interested in this game, I do not plan on posting any further updates, unless I need to keep track of FA correspondence for my own record.

I definately dont have any interest in being a 2 city civ for another 12 months.
The game is all yours.

Although I do recommend that you also consider just retiring, and return Team Monkey to the jungle.
