Monkey
14 archers
29 Mercs
20 cats
COD
9 muskets
11 horsemen
22 longbowmen
23 cats
2 Warriors
1 Spearmen
1 Swordsman
69 units
40 vs 45
Gift our entire gold to LL.
If Marmoset falls, they wont get any gold.
I say... 5 units in Marmoset...3 mercs 2 archers ?
If they take the city with horsemen, we can countattack them & destroy them.
Or..Cod will be forced to move some of their stack to protect them..which means less to attack our main stack.
Move the rangers from Whale song to Marmoset, as part of the defense.
Everything we have fortifies on those trees & we bomb away.
I think we should survive the CoD counterattack.
It will be a gamble & nasty.. but worth it.
If we wait until the last stand in Whales Song, we will be attacked by both stacks, and I am not sure if we would survive one turn.
However, we might survive the attack from one Stack.
If anything other than muskets appear, attack with archers.
Beta... do whatever your gut tells you.
I dont like the idea of letting them take our cats.
This way, we get to use them at least once.
If our stack is almost destroyed, then the decision is made for us, and we can disband the cats in Whale Song later.
Regs
{edit}
Another option, is to abandon Marmoset.
The road network stays in PTW
That will allow us to put all of our units in the forrest.
Use the two mercs from whale song to protect our retreat.
If they attack the mercs and cut us off...
Our archers should be able to kill their horsemen, and allow us to retreat.
Hmmm
I am kinda liking this second option more now.
Up to you Beta

Hey fellow Monkeys.
The final battle is upon us, and we have a few options.
We can put 5? catapults back in Whale Song to help with the defenses.
Or we can pull out 3 catapults and keep them from falling into CoD/Python hands.
That would still leave 8 Catapults in the city.
We can disband them or keep them in the city.
The city will fall ... I am reasonably certain of that.
So I am inclined to just disband them....but am willing to leave them in there if you guys want.
I suggest we load all of our galleys with catapults, and send them to Latin Lover.
To help them with their war, and also as payment for their tech support.
We cannot afford to keep them anyway. We will have to choose anarchy as our government yet again.
Yet another option ... is if con wants to go pirate.
In which case, we can pull out some mercs from whale song, and disband the cats.
I have very little interest in carrying on with this game as a 2 city team.
So once Whale Song is gone, I wont be checking in very often.
So...
Unless I hear from you guys, I will play the save in 24 hours.
I will
1. Save as many cats as possible.
2. Disband the rest left in Whale Song.
3. Send all of our gold to Latin Lover to help with their war effort. (With the understanding they will send it back if not needed) ~200g
4. Send all of our galleys/Catapults North to LL.
If anyone has a preference to other tactics...post it in the forums.
If you want to play the save con/Beta .. you are welcome to.
With my recommendations or not.
If con wants to take over as the primary player, then you are welcome to use whatever tactics you want.
One other thing I might do, is send a last minute email to Python.
If they want to backstab CoD, then now is the time to do it.
I also want to see if we can negotiate safe passage of our galleys to LL.
Offer guaranteed peace (no harrassment) if they allow our galleys free passage.
I will say they are full of workers, which we cant afford, and are in payment for the techs they sold us.
So...speak up now. PLay the save if you want.
Regards
