"These recent accusations of "global takeover" by FCL troops and from our ally of the Hive are totally without merit. We are merely cementing our nation into a permanent position where dissidents and radicals will not be able to overthrow the order and justice my policies have created.

Furthermore, these accusations that FCL troops have attacked Auldoninan troops is totally false. Why would FCL troops attack an apparent ally's troops who are helping in stabilizing the region? Internal investigations have concluded that it was Auldoninan troops who ambushed FCL patrolmen. This act of aggression will not be tolerated and Auldonina will not be allowed to set foot on FCL/Former Azan soil. We are ordering the nation of Auldonina to remove all it's troops from our territories, cease all military actions, and leave the FCL/Azan island.

From now on, Auldonina is barred from Frankychanland waters, Frankychanland airspace, and Frankychanland soil. The Hive will replace Auldoninan troops and will be awarded exclusive contracts to help rebuild our nation as well as the Azan territories. "

A reporter stood up (obviously staged) and asked a question.

"General, sir. What does this mean?"

"It means......Frankychanland dissolves its alliance with Auldonina and instead will treat them as a hostile nation. The Hive has proven itself as a great nation that stands by it's friends and we will support them as they have to us. I'm declaring FCL and Former Azan's territory CLOSED to all nations except to our allies of the Hive."

The transport planes from Pristina were already in the air when Air Command radioed. With the declaration of Frankychanland and Azan closing to all nations save only the Hive, the aid mission was put on indefinite hold.

Fortunately, there was enough fuel left to turn around and land in northern Centralis. Presumably their aid shipments would be similarly impaired; but the Joint Chiefs would need to have discussions with their Centralian counterparts about the flames being fanned . . .

The Fable rejined with the third fleet, bow pointing towards FCL waters. It was a quiet evening, oddly there were lights on in the coastal towns, it was usually pitch-black all night. There were more vessels in FCL waters since Fable took it's 'guests' back to Ceroo, small though. Those hospital ships perhaps? The Hive?
One couldn't help but get the feeling that something was going to happen...

Official Communique from the Jonchastan Coordinating Congress of the Guard and Militia Councils to all interested parties

It would seem that in Former Azan, as elsewhere, the dogs of war have fallen into fighting with each other over which one gets the bone. From the humanitarian's point of view, which dog succeeds is irrelevant, which is why Jonchastan is resolute in maintaining and defending the much needed field hospital and refugee aid camp in Southeastern Azan.

We would like to inform other nations that the airfield and port are both fully operational, and replete with all manner of defensive systems to protect incoming aid shipments. The hospital is open all nations that wish to bring relief to the Azani people, and any nations that wish to contribute to its defence will be welcomed.

Note, however, that we will not tolerate any nation that wishes to use the camp as a cover for clandestine military operations against any of the various sides in the conflict. As such, all shipments of food and medical aid will be subject to inspection, and any violating nations will be barred from the area.

Basus supports Jonchastan completely and will supply the hospital with medicine and food supplies. Furthermore Basus will send Maud one of Basus most popular singers to boost the moral in the support zone.

On an official note Basus has called upon the leaders of the Former Azani to participate in a summit on neutral ground on board of the "Admiraliteit" To set up a official representative government for the Azani minority. The representatives are under Basus protection during the summit and we warn all nations to refrain from violence against these people. We would also like to invite the Auldoninnans, Hive and Frankychanland officials as well as the Ceroo/Guardinia officials. Last but certainly not least we call upon our Jonchastan allies to support our initiative and help us realise a good outcome.
All other intrested parties are welcome to participate. All help is appriciated.

The government of Karakas has endorsed Basus' plan to set up a representative Azani government. In a news conference, the President's press secretary stated that the government believed that Basus' proposal had the best chance of "heading off chaos in Azan".

When quizzed, however, on Karakas' rumored interest in joining the League of Armed Neutrality, the secretary declined to confirm or deny. He did, however, give the almost cryptic reply, "If it were a social club, I'm sure the President would join. Because, you know, he admires very much their goals and their policies as well."

General Paul Hogan heard the hiss of static as the transmission ended. He frowned and headed to the table where all the Generals and Admirals were in attendance.

"I have orders here from the new government in Auldoninna that we are to assist in the rebuilding and aid work in Azan, That is to be our primary mission. But I have been given the order that any further attacks against Auldonina personel will be met by the full force of our troops. We will retaliate and retaliate hard. All bombing missions are now cancelled till i give new targets to the north if necessry. "

"And what of the Hive?" asked General Gough Whitlam

"Heaven help the world if they get involved, who knows what evil weoponry they will use. I have issued all men with Bio-Suits and we are patrolling our territory down here constantly. Any movement of Hive or Frankychan planes towards us will be regarded as an act of war."

As can be seen from the map, all Auldonina naval presence in the Eastern Straits is now removed as Basus/Ceroo and Guardina have ample cover to protect the transports, Auldonina navy is now patrolling the western ocean to prevent attacks on Auldonina vessels arriving with aid from the North West and any other nation sending like aid ....

The Guardinian Department of Foreign Affairs released a statement today reaffirming Guardinia's full support of the humanitarian relief efforts now underway in Azan and commitment to protect anyone with a legitimate business in the area. Officials confirmed today that a Guardinian air bridge is being established to provide urgent medical aid and that a sizeable fleet of merchant vessels carrying food and supplies has left Guardinia and is expected to arrive in Azan some time late tonight. This fleet is reported to be entering the former "Total Exclusion Zone" surrounding Azan even as we speak, and will be escorted by Guardinian Navy warships until it reaches port safely. Officials assured the press and the public that the Guardinian military would respect the neutrality of the base established by Basus and Jonchastan and that no attempts would be made to stage any form of clandestine military operations out of this area. However, the question about whether or not Guardinia was establishing its' own bases elsewhere and possibly conducting clandestine military operations out of these was left unanswered - perhaps not too surprisingly.

When asked whether Guardinia's military forces would stand down now that the situation appears to have cooled down somewhat, Minister of Defense John Paul Atkinson said that a partial stand down had already been ordered for the army and air force. The navy remains on full alert for the time being, but Atkinson siggested that hopefully, they too could begin a gradual stand down within the next few days.

Officials also confirmed that Guardinia supports Basus' plan to establish a new government for Azan and that a high level Guardinian delegation would attend the summit on board the Basus aircraft carrier Admiraliteit. Guardinian Minister of Foreign Affairs Sean Baldwin expressed hope that these efforts would eventually lead to the return of peace, prosperity and stability to the Azani people and all their neighbours.

Just after midnight, the Noosland aid convoy arrived at the Jonchastan field hospital under the protection of the Thelon battlegroup. Elements of the 3rd Nooslandian Special Operations Unit moved into defensive positions, with the aid of Blue Cap teams inserted in place several days before.

Unloading of emergency supplies is now underway.

As a sign of protest the Basus Government recalls all diplomatic personel from Auldonina. In a statement Ambassedor Carl Sieburgh condems the nuclear tests and warns Auldonina against the many dangers of nuclear power. Basus High Chancellor Alexander van Eerden Biswijck also warns Auldonina that all negative effects on Basus territory caused by these tests will be redressed on Auldonina

Guardinia denounces nuclear tests on a general basis, and also points out that the Auldoninna government could hardly have found a worse time to conduct such tests. This will be seen by many as another escalation of the crisis and does not appear to be the actions of a government with peaceful intentions.
