It all comes down to faith.
As a believer in the ALL MIGHTY I can say that death has no grip of fear on me.

I have never seen a athiest die without praying before they depart this life.

This is why I donot believe in Athiest

Many, but I don't really keep a tab.

I am a true believer in the here after because of the experinces with death.

Heard many tell of the NDE.
Had one bout six months ago.
Drug OD.
No pulse, no respirations.
Dead but we were fortunate to have revived her.
The first thing she said out of her mouth was "I want to go back" when we revived her.
Couple days later while in the ICU recuperating she told me the story of the light and tunnel that so many have told before.
I asked her if she had believed in GOD before this and she replyed that "I do now" and left it as that.

True story!!!!!!!

This is not the only experince I have had with this.
So, yea it has only made my belief stronger.

Ashamed to admitt this but when I was younger I also did not believe.

That is in the past now.

I can only hope that most of you keep a open mind about this and go looking for your GOD in your own way that will make you comfortable.
Once you have opened your eyes to the possability it will all make sence then.
I understand GOD and everthing but have a hard time putting into words explaining to others.

Just keep an open mind

No problem at all. Its basically someone who is not sure whether there is a God or not. I'm pretty much undecided on the issue. Though I have a feeling that I ever to make up my mind and happen to believe in a God it'll probably be a God of my own thought and not a God like the Christian God, if you follow what I'm saying.

it can be a lil confusing.

GOD is GOD.
Chistianity,Judisiam,muslems ect..ect.

It is all the same GOD.

that is what kills me.
They kill to see who they think GOD loves the most

How can you tell GOD you love him/her when you could not even love your fellow man?

To kill a human in the name of GOD has really gotta piss GOD off.

I beleive GOD wants his creations (humans) who can show compation and love to each other.

We claim to be the most intellegent species on this planet but we cannot even trust each other.

Love your fellow man.

This is what I mean when it all makes sence to me but I cannot explain it to others.

This is why we are so different?

could it be part of GODs plan to test our souls to see if we are made of love or hate?

is this what they mean by free will?

Think about it and make up your own mind.

It all makes sence to me.

Yeah. It is a rather crazy way to think of it.

"could it be part of GODs plan to test our souls to see if we are made of love or hate?"

In that case the majority of us has failed.

That may be what hell is........
to find out you were wrong.

Hard to go through eternity knowing you were wrong and as punishment GOD will not have anything to do with you.
Knowing that GOD is there and not able to communicate with the creater.

Eh I have a cynical view on human nature. I mean you look around and see quite a lot of hate around.

"Hard to go through eternity knowing you were wrong and as punishment GOD will not have anything to do with you."

Thats not particulary fair. Eternity is a rather long time after all. Why should you be punished for eternity for some ignorance you showed in 80 years of life?

If you actively out looking for a god of some sort, it will require you to have at least a predisposition towards believing in a god, if not some sort of outright belief.

A bit skewed in the worldview, wouldn't you say?

Docfeelgood: Yes, I do believe you when you say that quite a few atheists turns to belief in their final moments. But is that really a solid argument for anything? They are scared and do not want to take any chances. Is that any basis for true faith? It's more game theory as I see it.

Yes who's that guy that made that argument that its rationally prudent to believe in God. However I think his argument was proved to be invalid or something. But it makes you think.

Thats right. I remember now. We passed over him in a paper I did at the beginning of last year when we were arguing about the existence of God.

"If you actively out looking for a god of some sort, it will require you to have at least a predisposition towards believing in a god, if not some sort of outright belief."

Cool.

I remember the first humanities paper I did as a university student was an analysis of C.S. Lewis's Mere Christianity. I tore it apart, and got an A for it

I think people who don't believe are just looking for attention when the topic comes up.
A shock value you could say.
Something to argue about and to stand out from the norm.
Deep down in there heart they know that the possabilty is there.

its all a choice.
I don't have all the anwers but if you could see all of what I have seen it just might change your mind.

Why do people need to believe in a God? I get by without any such belief. I've just accepted that human beings are incapable of ever coming to an answer about most things. But why worry about things you can't control?
