Puerto Princess has desended into riots
The newly taken base of Kwajalien has settled down under the control of 3 marine battalions that were airlifted in last month from stateside
The fleet are moving onto Truk. This island does not have an airfield, but a deep water harbour.
The BB Nevada started proceedings with opening her guns just before dawn... oh to have seen Jappas face, to have watched them crinch hearing those mighty guns roar
Next the BB Oaklahoma and BB Pennsylvania joined the fray.
From the CV Saratoga 3 Bomber Squadrons laid further destruction upon this base. It was with saddness that we lost one of these fine squadrons.
A further bombing run was brought in from the lads ojn the CV Enterprise
Being within flight ops of the Jappa bases of Guam and Saipan, the CV's Yorktown, Lexington and Enterprise Fighter Squadrons provided Combat Air Patrols and various fighter support.
Amongst this activity the transport "Sam Carter" kanded 3 battalions of GI's and a Light Tank Rgt onto the island.
Just so Jap knows who is in control in the Truk waters, the CA Honolulu moved up and bombarded the township as well.
I have called a halt to the bombardment, as I want that Harbour in tact - well we will see next turn, as I plan to let the BB's open up one mre time prior to the GI's charging from the forest.
Several Destroyers have been dispatched to Kwajalien, to collect the Marines for the upcoming attack on Guam. Fresh GI's are being air lifted into Kwajalien to back fill for the Marines.
I am quite impressed with the ability to load a marines unit aboard a destroyer. A well balanced fighting force.
My screen of 9 subs continue in their hunt for the Jappa fleets...
I have placed the CA Juneau into harms way, sitting in the channel between Truk, Guam and Saipan. I am looking to draw Jap out a bit.. into the teeth of my big guns.
If any of you have information on their where abouts I would like to know.
Word has been sent to HQ San Fran, more Marines needed to take these islands.
Overall I have expressed a great satisfaction at the actions of the fleet.
If anyone you fine Generals and Admirals have any requests for the American Fleet or any of my units, please do not hesitate to contact me directly.

to our surprise, the japanese forces in south china put up a very pathetic resistance. an artillery barrage on Canton followed by a blitz of light tanks captured the city. Following the fall of Canton, general Sun charged into Hanoi, only to find that it was being defended by a flak and another weak unit. So of course, Hanoi is now also under chinese control.
japanese resistance in south china is nearly non existant. There's a few conscripted infantry holding onto the ruins of Hong Kong, and perhaps a few more defenders in the nearby city of Kiungchow, along with some suspected bombers and fighters.
the first chinese naval unit will be completed in december, a forimadable Transport ship. it will be used to land troops on the island of Taiwan, estimated to occur by February. China would be much obliged if the Americans could bomb Formosa with long range bombers before the tanks rush in the city.
Most of the chinese population is very much excited by these recent victories, which is resulting in a huge boom in the economy and industry. The Manchuko invasion force is going to be ready sooner than expected.
btw, does anyone have a spy within Japan? it would be great to know the enemies unit count at this point.
and here's an interesting find. In Hanoi, chinese officers found a cache of leaflets at the Japanese propoganda ministry bureau, obviously meant to hurt commonwealth morale:

Truk
Marines reboard Destroyers
GI's take up operational garrison duties
Aparii
New Transporter "The Express" finished
Loaded with Marines and combat Engineers
Puerto Princess
Airport has been laid here, and should be operational next month
The fighting Seabees really know their stuff, all very very inspiring
New Transporter "The Postman" finished
Loaded with Marines, moved to Manila for 2 machine gun battalions and a combat engineer battalion
Transporter "Lock and Load" moved to Manila and loaded with 4 marine battalions
These 3 transporters have moved on to the south east of the Phillipines, and along with their Submarine Escorts, SS SkipJack and the SS Pollack, they should be landing 7 marine battalions onto Palau next month.
Long Live the Marines.
The transporter "Sam Carter" is rushing back to join the main Fleet for the attack on Guam
The main fleet
The four BattleShips and five Cruisers have taken up position two tiles south east of Guam.
At this hour they are firing upon the island day in day out
The bank and several other items have been destroyed - all to be expected
Along with that the airport has been destroyed - they will have to ship reinforcements in the hard way now. More fodder for my fleet.
The Marines on the DD Shaw ran a probing attack on the garrison and knocked out another Jappa unit
And then there are my four mighty flat tops.
How glorious they are.
I have so many units up on Combat Air Patrol at this time, well I wonder how these lads are not getting mixed up.
I sure do pity any Jappa that swings his wings through this parcel of air - hahaha
After the massive bombardment from the fleet, I am holding the bombers in reserve, even though they are well in range of hitting Palua of Saipan, they would be out side of fighter escort range
And then from outside the main fleet, the Destroyer "Whittling" asked permission to attempt a landing with its Marine component.
And Guam is now ours.
Seabees have been rushed ashore to repair / build the airport.

its agreable that the remainder of indochina should be left for the commonwealth to wipe up.
As for Kiungchow, that needs to be conquered asap. if no one else will be able to take it, then china will.
The rest of the units are moving northwards.
This was overall a quiet December within china, with the exception of the former jap cities which are plagued with revolts. our solution was to create large forced labor camps, and now all non resisting japanese citizens have adorned nice red construction hats and are working hard on happy improvements.
artillery fire followed by a bombing run, managed to sink an enemy destroyer that was off the coast of taiwan. i think thats my first naval kill
and by doing so, scouts noticed that Formosa is apparently defended by a flak. A few months ago, scouts noticed that the island of Saishu was also defended in the same fashion.
in any case, a newly built tank regiment was rushed to Foochow, boarded the new transport ship, and landed on the island. We'll see what happens in 43 ...

As to our mighty Alliance, I thought it good to share with you some of my thoughts for the future months.
Guam has fallen. Long Live the United States Marine Corp (USMC)
As you will see from the attached map I have several key elements staging now for the capture of Saipan.
Orange: TaskForce 5
This is my main fleet, They will follow the orange line and start to bombardment operations of the Jappa forces on Saipan.
Please see the following post for a list of the United States Pacific Main Battle Fleet.
Yellow: TaskForce 13
The mighty transporters from the Phillipines. They were originally staging for Palua, but I have decided to mate them with the main fleet. They will follow the yellow line this coming month, then follow the yellow dotted line in the following month. This will allow the Marines to be able to invade upon arrival.
Dark Green: TaskForce 7
The transporter "Sam Carter" will follow in the dark green line this coming month, then follow the dark green dotted line in the following month. Units here will be available to further enhance the Marine attack.
Blue Area: Iwo Jima
Upon the completion of the battle of Saipan, it is the hope of my planning and operational staff that we move on and take Iwo Jima. The island of Iwo Jima will then be a major staging post for the US Army Air Corp Bomber Command. Allowing for daily and possibly even nightly bombing of the Jappa Home Isalnds.
My intelligence staff have assured me that the Jappa feel invincible on their islands, and at this time the various Jappa High Commands have not been informing the populace of Jappaland that the war is not going as well as they would have it.
Thus by laying in bombing raids upon the Home Islands of Jappaland, it is believed that there will be a great deal of confusion, and thus a great many issues raised throughout the populace. This it is hoped will give the various Jappa High Commands several new issues to deal with.
It is my hope that this will further crack the spirit of these firce and truely passionate Jappa warriors.
At this time I must admit that I am most concerned by not knowing the actual location of the Jappa fleet. I have photographical prove that they have a multitude of Destroyers, Cruisers, some very heavy BattleShips, and numerous Aircraft Carriers. If any of you can locate these vessels, please let me know. The BattleShips and Carriers are a primary concern. Yet their Destroyers, if allowed to operate in squadron formations, will be quite a dangerous foe.
May our Alliance be truely victorious.

Jappa small invasion task force have arrived and bombarded the township.
A Jappa Gueilla Batt landed in the woods to the west of town.
The junior GI battalion was sent out to deal with them. Although the GI's sustained damage, they removed the Jappaman.
Artillary Units within the town fired back on the small Jappa taskforce, laying some damage on the Jappa CA Kako
Manila
Fighter Bomber came off the Production line
1st F/Bomber sqd attacked the group with minimal results.
355th Wildcat Sqd attacked the group, laying some damage on the Jappa CA Kako
407th Wildcat sqd attacked the group with minimal results.
509th Wildcat sqd attacked the group with minimal results.
From here the SS Pollack moved in and took out the CA Kako.
I must admit here that it was quite a lively discussion on whether to attack the Kako, or go for the transporter.
The Jappa DD Asangi is still in one piece on site.
TaskForce 13:
The transporters have made there 1st jump on the road to Saipan.
It was with great joy that they had the Commonwealth DD "Electra" available for a short spell of escort duties, and then were handed over to the Commonwealth Sub SS "Tireless."
Admiral Johnson of TF13 sends his compliments and regards to the Captains and crews of these fine vessels.
The DD Laffey, the DD Whitling (the hero of Guam) and the DD Paul Jones have now joined this TaskForce.
TaskForce 7:
"Sam Carter" has been rushed to Guam, where her full compliment of units have been placed on MP duties to quell some resistance amonsgt the local Jappa population.
It is hoped to have this situation under control ASAP.
TaskForce 5:
And the Big Ships moved into position and commenced the Bombardment of Saipan.
The Bombardment caused massive troop loses for the Jappa Garrison.
It was then decided to let the Naval Bombers on board the carriers loose upon Saipan.
This had a further devestating effect upon the island.
We lost one entire bomber sqd.
They lost barracks, civil defense, temple, marketplace and some population.
At this stage the airfield remains standing.
Admiral MacHenri, Commander TF 5, and Marine General Tommy O'Hall agreed that it would be beneficail at this time to press home the attack with some of the Marine Detachments onbaord a few of the Destroyers. The DD Shaw cam up, laid in a bombardment the let loose its Marines. Another Jappa unit is gone. Then up came the DD Worden, it too laid on a bombardment, then unleashed its mighty Marine Battalion.
Saipan has fallen. Long Live the USMC
There are 9 resisters on Saipan, but my lads will deal with this.
And as the airport has been captured in tack, troops from the US have been diverted directly there.
Thus the island Garrison has been supplemented with 3 new Marine battalions, and a Battalion of Combat Engineers.
This changes the timetable for the capture of Iwo Jima a tad, but it is all good as they say.
TaskForce 98:
The transporter "Jolly Roger" and its compliment of flak units continues steaming across the Pacific. They are just passing Wake Island.
These flak units are a vital component of the defense of Iwo Jima from Jappa Bombers and Fighters.
Now if we could just capture the airfield in Iwo Jima as well.
To suplement the lost the lost Bomber sqd from the main fleet, a Wildcat sqd from Wake Island has flown up to fill the listings.
The two remaining Wildcat sqds on Wake Island have been transferred to Saipan.
Over on Kwajalein, the Colonel of the 956th Machine Gun Battalion has swindled his way for the unit to also be air lifted into Saipan. Good show I say, although there are some nervous murmurs about leaving this newly taken island in the hands of only one green unit. Well the war will be won or lost on the Home Islands I say, not some small, beuatiful, tropical island.
As a last decision, TF 5 will not venture any further forward, choosing instead to lay quietly now in the waters between Guam and Saipan.
