This is the official poll.

Im going to follow wervdon's advice and keep this simple.

What yes entails in a nutshell:

-Tech Cooperation
-Choke then kill CDG after Republic.
-Allies for the game.

No means you dont want to do this.

Abstain means you cant make up your mind or dont want to vote on this.

Damn, I hate this question. We are going to let CDG down and they are going to notice that. We are going to have problem on the eastern boarder very soon.
CDG will go inte warrior mode, not building mode, when they realize we have screwed them.
No way our tech-deal is going to last until republic, CDG is comming for us to hurt us as much as they can.

Well not necessarily. Right now we are still strong to CDG, we need to stay that way. And we are moving in that direction as we build more cites/camps. Use the Capitol to pump out pop's and use the new cities as unit production areas.

We should be OK and this deal with CDG is going to last for while longer anyway. We have not even started writting yet.

How could they? We can extend our NAP for some more turns (after we learn how much time they will need for finishing the writing and Code of Laws). After this we don't need to fear for our deal and their attitude towards us.

And we need to remain "strong" to CDG, which right now is a matter of just maintaining that edge.

We do the "two step" diplomacy wise.

They may have an idea, but wont know for sure.

For right now we just say we are discussing the possibility of an alliance internally.

Agree to another NAP, and move on.

They are going to now after Republic when we dont do any more tech deals.

That honorably ends our trade agreements and NAP (at least honorably for us), and we do what PAL originally wanted and beat the crud out of them sooner rather than later.


My only comment: Just make sure we keep multiple hoplites per city

Where is the "WTF, it is too early to be pressed into deciding this" option?

I'd go with PAL if pressed to right now, but I think it folly to decide this right now.

Like I have said before, we want this choice made BY us instead of FOR us.

If we don't make it soon, we won't have a choice.

Why is this too early? We are not potentially agreeing to anything beyond what is mentioned in the first post. If you disagree with any of those then vote NO. If you agree then vote YES. Some people have expressed that they want further parts added to the alliance. Fine, but let's decide on what we have now, that way we are sending a clear message to PAL, that we are committed to working with them, - keep in mind though this does NOT mean we are bonded to everything they want.

PAL has given us a clear message when they gifted us two techs on the hope we would reciprocate. We did. Now let us show our goodwill by committing to PAL as partners, and then we will be able to work together on future matters.
