For a man or woman to make the decision that yes, this is my sexual prefrence they will go through hell and back making that decision. Either based on family or societial beliefs. You can imagine the stress.....so some "flame out" if you will a bit more then others but it does calm down unless they are just religated to being a dizzy queen all their life. But for 85 to 90% of the gay community this just isn't the case.

I don't mind gays having fun or being gay in public or private or otherwise. I just think the behavior I mentioned is annoying to me for example. If someone came on to my woman in front of me that is a challenge. It can result in physical violence. It's also disrespectful to make sexual comments in front of elderly people. My grandmother would smack me in the mouth for being so lewd.
My basic problem is really with the fact that the people I'm talking about look like pretenders.

well you get the point -- straight people do not realize the openess of sexual orienation for them, because they take all these acts for granted, that they do not realize the extent they DO make their sexual orientation public.

The other day I saw a group of black youths engaging in what I considered disrespectful, crass behavior in public. I guess I'll have to go up to my black friends now and demand an explanation for it on behalf of their race. I mean, these people have to defend what anyone in their demographic does!

I'm not stereotyping. I never said that all or even most gay people do anything. I only used some of the examples that I witnesses to point out specific people who annoy me. Like I said if I saw two gay people holding hands or kissing I would have no problem with that.
I don't have a problem with people expressing there sexuality. I have a problem with people overdoing it to the point of looking like a clown.
Just like I have a problem with fat women wearing bikini's.
I have a tremendous amount of respect for people who are openly gay in this society. I believe that gays should not be treated as they have in the past and are being treated today.
So please don't give me credit for positions I don't support.

Got spare money?

Pax, I think if you read my post again you'll see that nowhere did I say you were stereotyping. What you are doing is asking a stupid question in a manner that is a fairly thoughtless. Asking us to "explain" why certain homosexuals feel the need to do so makes no more sense than me asking you why certain straight guys feel the need to whistle and hoot at pretty women who walk by, as if such bad behavior is some sort of subfactor of being straight. It puts us in a position of having to either defend the behavior of gays or distance ourselves from some gays, neither of which I feel the need to do.

The obvious answer to your question can be garnered from anyone, gay or straight: some people have bad manners and behave inappropriately in public.

1. Actually, I was asking for an explanation for the fake behavior not the crass behavior, because I don't understand it. I thought it better to ask for explanations than to make assumptions.
2. I'm sure that if I saw their crass disrepectful behavior I would have a problem with it. As a black man and as an American. i often speak to black kids around me about the crass disrespectful things I see from them and other black kids. I hope that through my words I will make a difference. Maybe you should also.

Boris,
I'm not sure if you or someone else used the word stereotyping. I was responding to a collective. I don't believe that my question is stupid. I tried to take all the offense off the question so no one would feel like there was anything to defend or distance themselvesf from.
Similar to the discussions about blacks. I have not tried to defend blacks for any ills in that community only give truthful opinions about the situation and what I saw as the solution. Just because a person is gay does not mean you have to defend their actions.

If we knew why people opted for fake (if it is indeed so) or crass behavior, we'd be psychologists who would make a lot of money.

I don't expect homosexuals to behave a particular way, one way or the other, because I don't view the behavior of one as somehow representative of me. My actions speak for themselves, and if someone judges me based on what some other idiot does, that's the fault and mistake of the person doing the judging. Not my fault, nor the idiot's. I despise the mentality that I am somehow responsible for the behavior of other gays, when the negative stereotypes about gays are based on a small minority of gays in the first place. It is justifying such stereotypes to do so.

If a some guy is behaving like a total jackass and claiming to represent all gays by doing so, I'll be glad to call him on it. But if it's some guy at a restaurant just acting like a fool, I'll just ignore him and make sure that my behavior is what I'm concerned about.

But the point is, do you think the bad behavior of the kids I mentioned above has anything to do intrinsically with them being black?
