Nice try at the troll Drake.
Instead of shooting the messanger, why don't you look at the basic facts. The majority of Americans are fat. We're not talking a couple of pounds. We're talking rolls of fat. Waddles of it.
Go to a restaurant in the US and you can see why. The serving are gigantic and people sit there wolfing in all in. Americans don't know how to eat properly. They're gluttons.
It's quite disgusting, actually. Like watching pigs at the trough.

About 45% of Canadians are overweight.
About 65% of Americans are overweight.
About 15% of Canadians are obese.
About 30% of Americans are obese.
That means one in seven Canadians are obese compared to one in three Americans.
So yes, no matter how much you insanely laugh, there is a huge difference between Canadians and Americans.
So Drake, instead of insulting the messenger, why don't you just accept the fact that Americans are fat. Americans think its normal, but if you live in Japan, you'll notice it when you go back to the States. You get off the plane and within an hour you'll be thinking: "Jesus, these people are fat". It's a typical comment made by American expatriates .

I can't figure out how Americans allow themselves to get so grossly overweight. How do they get so fat?
Look at all those kids buying Big Gulps from 7-11. How do they drink it all? After they drink a quarter of it, doesn't something in their brains say that's enough.
Or when I go to a typical American restaurant, I'm full after eating about half the serving (My ex-girlfriend eats about a quarter of it). But my American friends polish everything off, and then they order dessert. How and why would they do that?
My BMI is about 24.5, normal weight. My waist size is about 34 and I'm getting to the age where the fat is starting to build up. It feels uncomfortable so I don't eat like I used to, but for me to become obese like those one in three Americans, I'd have to add on 40 pounds. I can't imagine how someone could do that.
How do these Americans live with all that fat in their bodies? I'm getting near the overweight point and my body is saying stop eating so much. Yet these people keep on going.
And the really weird thing is this is normal in the US. It's normal to be fat. Healthy Americans are a minority. Severely weird.
Edit: Of course, it's not just that Americans keep stuffing their faces. Obviously, laziness is a big factor. They're not doing enough physical activity. They just sit on their fat asses watching the tube. And if anyone reading this has a BMI over 30, turn off your computer and go for a walk. You don't have to run. Just walk for 20 minutes. It's a start. Or you can stay fat and die early.

Why is it expected?
Canada is an affluent nation, but Canadians are not nearly as fat as Americans. Why the difference?

Obviously, but why do a majority of Americans have a lifestyle and culture that leaves them fat and lazy?
Edit: Or put another way, what is it about American culture that results in two out of three Americans being fat?

Actually, I believe that this is fairly close to the truth. Just look at how McDonald's influences children. It encourages them to eat fatty foods and then increases the size as they get older. Top this on to America's idea of value for money (people want to feel like they are getting a lot for their money), and it is no wonder that some Americans are becoming fatter. It's difficult to break out of habits that a person is raised with. Though many Americans try as there a large health food and general healthy living trend in America.
One mustn't forget that the babyboomer population still dominates much of America, and they are all within the age where obesity is more difficult to control. An aging Europe is seeing a similar trend, though not on the same scale.
Also, we must consider what is fat for one culture may not be for another. With a 34 waistline, Tingkai would be considered fat by many Chinese. On contrast, many Americans may see Chinese people as too skinny.
Tingkai, adding lazy? Is this a racist comment or just a troll? I don't mean to sound offensive by asking, but I think it's a fair question here.

When you use a leading question, you need to create one that makes sense. Since I didn't mention race, your question is transparently lame.
As for your weak insult about people who use a "stereotype" that Americans are fat, the problem is that it is not a stereotype. The objective facts show that Americans are incredibly fat. Your government says that majority of Americans are fat.
But as long as Americans continue to live in denial and believe Americans are slim like Hollywood stars, the US risks a major health crisis. Overweight people are more likely to have health problems. When two-thirds of the American population is fat, that's going to put a massive strain on the US healthcare system.
Instead of veiled insults and blaming McDonalds, it's time for Americans to wake up to the problem.

what did I say earlier. Americans aren't the only ones who are getting fatter.
The whole world has increasing number of fat people. They are just lagging behind the U.S. As usual, the U.S. is ahead of everyone else.
Do you think it's some special genetic deformity or something? It's human nature. Humans tend to eat more if their serving size is larger.
You just watch, the rest of the world will catch up the U.S. In fact, they are already catching up.
Except maybe Ethiopia.
And it amazes me that people can get away with insulting Americans like this. First of all, being fat isn't necessarily unhealthy. It depends on how fit you are. Even fat people can be fit, though most are not.
