Oh, no, I just wanted to expose the ruse you've used.

Emmanuele Beart has a very distinct type of beauty/attractiveness. It's at the same time raw, and refined. She looks like this girl from the (French) countryside.

I believe it's due to Tarantino not being human.

I think it's more than just a rumour that he is in fact either the Troll Who Lived Under the Bridge, a kobold, or possibly the Man in the Moon. His chin and the tip of his nose almost meet, which must come in handy when guzzling foodstuffs.

Also, he was a truly pathetic Elvis impersonator in an episode of 'Roseanne', which is just laughable, since even a tub of lard in a rhinestone jumpsuit makes a passable Elvis impersonator.

Yeah Dashie, what are you on?

You say I'm racist, but I haven't mentioned race. The only person mentioning a person's race is you.

I've talked about the fact that the majority Americans are fat. That's based on national statistics. Since the United States is a multiracial society, this is obviously not a race issue.

Let's look at what you have done. Instead of dealing with the facts, you:
1) Cry racism;
2) Claim that anyone who talks about the facts is an idiot;
3) Troll by calling others a troll; and
4) Resorted to the schoolyard taunt: "I'm not fat, you're fat.

Meanwhile, other Americans have responded by:
a) Saying "How dare you insult us with the truth"; or
b) by saying "Anyone who mentions the facts is a moron".

The interesting thing is that if the stats showed Americans drank more beer than anyone else, no one would be offended. But mention fat and people get their backs up.

That's part of the problem. If people can't admit there's a problem then the problem will be ignored. If Dissident is right about America being a trendsetter for obesity, then this is a problem other countries will face. We need to get over our denial and recognise the health problem facing us.

Edit: Anyways, I should stop threadjacking and start a thread on this.

Also, while we're on the subject of fat people, let's talk about China. If you want to see the overweight, China is the place to go; they have more of them (200 million) than any other country.

quote:
Boys and girls getting taller and fatter

Chinese people are getting bigger, perhaps stronger, but definitely fatter.

Those are the facts drawing responses from the nation's health, education and even clothing design sectors.

According to a Ministry of Education survey, since 2000 the average height of boys 7 through 18 years old has increased 0.48 centimetres, while the group has put on 1.35 kilograms more weight.

The average height for girls in the same age group has increased 0.38 centimetres while they, too, are putting on weight, some 1.03 kilograms more than in 2000.

The ministry began conducting so-called physical surveys every two years among students instead of the previous five year span in 2000.

Experts attribute the increases in size to the improvements the nation has seen in diet and nutrition, although there is some concern that the extra weight put on is not necessarily a healthy thing.

The newly released survey was done between 2002-03 in Beijing and Chongqing municipalities and another 12 provinces or autonomous regions. It covered an index of items such as body make-up, physiological functions, physical quality and the child's health status.

In Shanghai, East China's Jiangsu Province and other eastern areas, men aged 20-55 are between an average of 1.75 centimetres taller than 10 years ago, according to Shanghai-based East China University.

The university has also conducted a sample survey on adult women from 1999 through today. The university said the height of adult women has also increased over that of several years ago.

Zhang Wenbin, a professor at the university's Costume Research Institute, says previous standards used in clothing technology may need readjustment to meet the changes in people's stature.

On the other hand, the latest survey by the Ministry of Education indicates that the average height and weight of urban teenagers are slightly higher than those of their rural peers.

This may be caused by disparities in living standards, especially in terms of nutrition.

The survey also found the number of overweight and fat students has increased in both urban and rural areas.

In urban areas, the number of overweight boys aged 7-18 has increased to nearly 12 per cent over 9 per cent recorded in 2000, while overweight girls of the same age grew nearly 8 per cent from 6 per cent in 2000.

In rural areas, both the number of fat boys and girls aged 7-18 increased 4 per cent over 2 per cent in 2000.

Health experts said the increase of obesity in students is mainly caused by insufficient physical exercise and overeating of fatty foods with high calories.

On average, the number of overweight people in China tops 200 million, at least 30 million of whom have morbid weight problems.

Li Chunsheng, a doctor with the Beijing-based Xiyuan Hospital affiliated to the Chinese Academy of Traditional Chinese Medicine, said obesity was more common among people over the age of 50, with the ratio standing at 43.1 per cent among males and 55.43 per cent among females.

Li said obesity has become one of the serious diseases threatening the lives of Beijingers, especially primary and middle school students.

Drake, the only idiot here is you.

You're acting like a school kid with your "You calling me fat, I call you fat."

Come on, grow up. I know you're not that stupid.

And did you even read the article you posted.

It estimates there are 200 million overweight people in China. Out of a population of 1.2 billion that means 17% of Chinese are overweight compared to 66% of Americans.

About 30% of American kids are fat compared to 12% of urban Chinese kids.

America has a fat problem, China does not, yet.

There's a difference between stating facts and lobbing insults. In fairness (until my last two threads I have been), you have stated facts, but laced them with insults. To deny them is obtuse. As I've may have too subtly stated before, while you do not specifically mention racism, your tone and attitude gives that impression. This is why I politely asked you about it in my question above. You responded by dodging the issue and becoming hostile, which gave reasonable credence to my suggestion.

quote:

Let's look at what you have done. Instead of dealing with the facts, you:
1) Cry racism;
2) Claim that anyone who talks about the facts is an idiot;
3) Troll by calling others a troll; and
4) Resorted to the schoolyard taunt: "I'm not fat, you're fat.

Firsly, I didn't cry racism, I suggested it and inquired about its possibility. Secondly, I never said that anyone talks about facts is an idiot or implied such. I never called you a troll, just asked if you were trolling. Yes, the taunts were sublime and an appropriate response to your little fit toward my questions. So again, I now state directly that you should backup your assertions with some sort of evidence or examples. Your view of the situation seems grossly inaccurate. In fact, I think most of your views are. No offense.

quote:

Meanwhile, other Americans have responded by:
a) Saying "How dare you insult us with the truth"; or
b) by saying "Anyone who mentions the facts is a moron".

Are you trying to make a general assumption about all Americans based on the actions of a few? And why are you telling me this?

quote:

The interesting thing is that if the stats showed Americans drank more beer than anyone else, no one would be offended. But mention fat and people get their backs up.

Actually, Ireland holds the record for highest alcohol consumption. They're not entirely proud of that either, but you won't see me shoving it in their face whenever given the opportunity. Why? Because not all Irish people are alcohol, even if drinking is a part of Irish culture.

quote:

That's part of the problem. If people can't admit there's a problem then the problem will be ignored. If Dissident is right about America being a trendsetter for obesity, then this is a problem other countries will face. We need to get over our denial and recognise the health problem facing us.

As I stated above in the post you wholly ignored, except for my questions about your intentions, many Americans are aware of obesity trends in their country. There are tons (no pun intended) of fitness nuts in America. News organizations usually do a report on the weight problem of America nearly every month. You seem to think that all Americans act and think the same way. A way that you find repulsive.

Dashi stop being so defensive. People here are smart. They can see what you're doing and it's pointless.

If you want to live in denial, go ahead. If you can't accept the fact that most Americans are fat, fine. If you don't want to deal with the issue and prefer thinking that America is a nation of fitness freaks, so be it.

I didn't say most Americans aren't fat. In fact, I agreed with you. I also never said that America is a nation of fitness freaks, I said that there are a lot of fitness freaks in America. You are the one who places labels, and you are the one misrepresenting what I am saying. What's going on with you? Now you are trying to flatter other posters to have them rally behind you.
