The RCT graphics dont lend themselves well to city graphics at all, the industries have clearly had more work but most of the city buildings look worse than SC2K, its hardly a step up from TT in that area. I also half keep expecting to see people queueing with balloons and puking on the roads.

In the easy scenarios you dont even need double tracks. Ive been using one station at each end with a loop in between for the second train to via off on while the other passes on the side. I suspect ill have to be far more efficient in the medium scenarios though. Im glad theres no messing with depots.

No doubt double tracks are more effecient, theres no hold ups if its only 2 trains and 2 track all the way around, you can usually run more trains if none are waiting for full load. But why didnt you compelte the 2 track all the way?

Do you mean the style or their function? I assumed signs of different periods only looked different and that "single" and "double" were just like in TT. But I havent played past the year 1935 yet though and havent had to use any complicated signals to complete all the beginner and easy scenarios.
I also noticed this, if a station catchment isnt covering all of the resource your picking up, you can add extra stations that count as the same station, but do nothing. This oil well was producing around 100 tons between each visit before i added the 3 new dummy stations, now it produces 300 tons.

I don't have any of those 'stop signs' anywhere, since with those, I couldn't get two trains to run at the same time... I have no idea how those are supposed to be set up... Could someone give me a hint? |
You need signals to tell the trains to stick to one side of the tracks, kind of like a road driving on the right side. When you place a one way signal an arrow appears telling you which direction it will signal to, if a train comes the wrong way to the signal the train will just turn around (i assume) like in TT.
In the screenshot a train travelling out of that station will always go to the left track, while a train coming down towards the station can choose either platform to load up on because there is 2 double signals telling it with platform is free.

Playing the full game but very unsuccessfully. So any help appreciated before i delete it in frustration.
Firstly, playing the tutorial, the on screen instructions say 'set up a bus route' and that's it. Is there more ?
Setting up a bus route the bus seems to drive around ages and just keeps going back to the same depot and not pickingup any passengers. I've added two depots to the route but it ignores them. So...
Am i doing something blindly obvious wrong ?
Do depots have facings ? Have i put the entrance on the wrong side ?
Where are all the passengers ? In two years i didn't get any passengers.
In the routing should the wait until full be below the 'go to city x' (probably an obvious question but just checking).
Assuming i ever get any cargo do i have to add the empty command or will it do that automatically at the next stop.
The express/local says that setting it to express will make it only stop at the waypoints on it's route ? Does that mean it ignores stations ?
thanks
S

It sounds like youve been placing cargo depots rather than bus stops...
