You can't transfer bases at will. You can only capture them on behalf of allies, and only then if the allies were planning to attack that turn but were somehow prevented.

That's what I thought several turns ago. However, a three-way balance discourages attacking, as the winner of any battle would be the one who doesn't fight.

Tonnage is getting close to the 4-digit range for all players. Sure, a victory could double one's bases, but it'd take a few turns at least to rebuild the fleet. Then again, everyone seems to have plenty of shielding.

I think the shield should automatically destroy some % of the fleet (by doing that % of the fleet's armor in damage), like 25% or even 50%. That would make the late game like this very interesting...

Two players have been allied for quite some time, so it is really a 2-player game at this stage unless some betrayal creeps in. Two players have roughly twice the production of Geo, so IMO he can only delay the inevitable unless the alliance does something really stupid. Or one of the partners sneaks.

Making shields that powerful would only encourage more turtling. There is already too much of that currently.

Even with a blocked attack, delaying means each turn the allies get 55 more units of shipping with which to attack Geo.

OTOH, when he turtles he can't come out either. He risks lunging at the empty bases of Alliance Member #1 while #1 and #2 have their fleets take over Geo's bases. That'd be a most intriguing result, it'd become a match-up between #2 and Geo since #1 would be left with only eight conquered bases. Then again, base numbers are becoming irrelevant rather quickly, since the fleets have been built up over the entire game. A turn or two won't change the tide enough.

Edit: Of course the relentless espionage efforts from the Alliance will make attacking an impossiibility for Geo.
