Man, he was awesome. You can't deny the man is an incredible speaker, and he really just electrified the evening. The line about strength and wisdom not being opposing values was a prize zinger.

Unfortunately, Kerry will be hard pressed to top that speech.

The one problem with Clinton's speech, to parrot David Brooks , is that it was too unwieldy. It was nowhere near as tight as Gore's speech.

I was watching MSNBC and they were talking about Clinton learned from the master of the modern political speech, Ronald Reagan, and used those lessons to become an amazing speaker and Hillary would would benefit from doing the same thing.... ie, Hillary was no where NEAR the speaker Bill was tonight.

Clinton is the best American political speaker in the game today. Hopefully Kerry doesn't get overshadowed.

I thought Gore was good, as was Hillary.

Carter I thought was great, but I made allowances for his age. With all the good he's done in the cause of human rights and his Nobel Prize, he has a quiet southern gravitas which is very appealing.

I don't know if you saw Kerry's ex-shipmate; he gave a fiery and very religious endorsement of Kerry which I really liked.

And Clinton was simply godzilla while everyone else was thousands of screaming Japanese.

Actually having Hillary introduce Bill was a very smart move. And that she actually looked (even if she might have been faking it) sincere about it.

It was a horrible mistake when Hillary entered the 9/11 memorial service by herself and then joined her husband at her seat. It just looked crass and was a dumb time for trying to make either one or both of the following points:

1) I am my own woman who stands on her own political feet and is not bootstrapped to my husband

2) I am pissed at Bill for hitting it in the Oval Office

I think Kerry will win this election, if the Democrats mobilize all of their best campaigners. Which includes all of the people we saw tonight, and especially including Clinton. People are going to vote Kerry in because of the people he has around him. So we are going to have a situation where they win the election for him.

Jesse Jackson is the wild card. For some reason the Democrats seem to be chasing after white voters. It's really odd.

Much like the way Bush won the last election based on the team he was going to have around him. People weren't necessarily voting for Bush, they were voting more for the traditional ideas of Reagan.

Which unfortunatley have been perverted, set in stone, and taken to the extreme by dumbasses like Rice and Cheney.

Jesse Jackson is still the #1 Brotherman Spokesman for the Democrats, and the one person that the black community looks to for leadership more than anyone else. He appeals to both young and older black voters.

I don't know if they have marginalized him or don't want to hear from him or what...


One thing that is annoying today is the clip of Kerry's wife telling that reporter to "shove it." It was the top story on the local news! Who cares?!!!

Then last week it was Bush's daughter (i'd hit it ) sticking her tongue out?

There's no denying Clinton is an amazing speaker. It was a fantastic speech. It was also a typical clinton speech, all style and very little truth or sincerity.

I don't care much for conventions. I think it's way too early to be having one though. They still got just under 4 MONTHS until the election!!

Clinton is a good speaker. He seems much more personable than Kerry. ALthough Kerry does look Presidential at times. One thing he needs to stop is the "benedict arnold" companies. Just call them traitors.
