I'm not suggesting that you build one in Folderol, and all swap about by taking a couple of levels each - just to build it on 'poly, not in RL (well, that's stretching the real quite a bit isn't it ). It wouldn't have to be a realistic character, or even a good one. Who knows, I might be tempted to put the maximum number of points into appraise.

And Doc, I was trying not to spoil the plot for anyone who was tempted to play NWN!

I saw an entrance to some caves in the basement to Helm's Hold but stupidly chose not to enter. What would I have found? Anything worthwhile?

I'm absolutely loaded at the moment, despite refusing to take rewards because it's not the Lawful Good thing to do, so I really don't need average loot. The duchess is on yet another teaching course on Saturday, so much NWN will be played this weekend.
Unless I have to go and buy a new suit. I've got an interview tomorrow morning at 8 () and hopefully the shops in Leeds will be open late enough this evening for me not to have to wear my old one, but I won't get long to choose one.

Anyone fancy making a start on this character? If someone is really bored then they could use the build in a proper game, but you'd have to have a lot of free time to do so.
I'm not going to pick a class because someone else can do that. Jamski has to pick the character's voice too.
But:

Human female called Polyanna Spammaton. I know you pick the name at the end, but we have to make her appropriate, and the rest of you can fight over which image to use for her.

Actually, one idea I've been fooling around with is a halfling barbarian who dual-wields handaxes. Needless to say, he's yet to see the light of day on Folderol (or anywhere).

I seem to always have trouble with persistant worlds. Right now I'm playing some single player mods. These are mods I've been meaning to play but have never gotten around to.

I've downloaded that, but am still playing the OC, and by the time that the crowds begin to scream for a sequel so loudly that Bioware actually listen, then I may well be some way through SotU.

Well whoever wants first go on Polyanna is welcome to do so - first come, first served. Be aware that you will suffer all kinds of barracking from your peers when you choose things that they wouldn't, but then you can do the same to them too when they get their turn.
Has anyone got any character pics they would like to propose? They needn't be those that shipped with the game.

I was bored, so I started up an ogre mage character on Folderol. He's Grog Stormfist, a 2nd-level Sorcerer. Basically, it's an effort to make a char good at both melee AND spellcasting-- which means RDD levels down the line. (why else would I have picked Sorc instead of wizard? )

Heh, I'd forgotten Pale Master increased spells/day in the character's main spellcasting class, plus offers +AC and immunity to death magic and crits. What I was originally thinking of doing was taking a level of Paladin somewhere (for the proficiencies and +saves). I'm going to have enough epic sorc bonus feats to get Automatic Still Spell III, of course.

So I'll probably end up with something like Sorc 20/Pale 10/RDD 10 or Sorc 18/PM 12/RDD 10. I want a BAB of +11 at level 20, which I can do by taking (IIRC) 4 levels of RDD and/or PM; I'll probably end up taking RDD at 6-7-8-9 to get the draconic stat bonuses in as soon as I can. Then, after hitting epic levels, take enough sorc levels to get 9th-level spells, then max out RDD and PM. (The reason I'm taking 20 sorc levels and not 18 is to get that third 9th-level spell. If Time Stop were disabled on Folderol, then I'd stop taking sorc levels at Sorc 18.)

Actually a Dex-based Rogue/Wizard can hold her own in melee, perhaps better than a fighter if buffed properly with Greater Stoneskin etc...

I just started up as a female elf cleric who uses longbows. I'm level 4 now, real close to level 5.

the name is named that way so you know it's me. The name is Kyra Diss'tra.

I seem to be doing pretty good. But mostly high level people in the game today, so I went off on my own. I actually seemed to fair better than my barbarian/fighter going solo. Though that librarian master thingy was pretty tough. I died a couple of times trying to defeat him (I couldn't figure out the riddle).

Pale Master increases BaB and HP at the Wizard/Sorc rate, so you'll have to chuck in some levels of a class with moderate or warrior BaB to get that 3rd attack at level 20.

I find the Rogue/Wizard synergy works best, as the high INT means the Rogue can be a total skills whore. And I mean TOTAL. You can get nearly every skill cheap in one of the classes, and you get STACKS of skill points. Yes, you will max out appraise.

If I recall correctly, the RDD's BAB progression is moderate. 16 levels of sorc/Pale and 4 of RDD gets 8+3=11 BaB.

And yes, the Rogue/Wiz combo is broken.

I fail to see how they are broken. They still don't have a lot of hitpoints. They will never be a melee powerhouse.

Jam, are you prepared to set Polyanna off as a rogue or a mage then?
If you reckon that all of these levels are so good then you may as well prove it to us with a couple of levels on our 'poly hero. I'll even let you choose her alignment.

I'm beginning to wonder if I'm the only one interested in doing this.

My rogue is fairly weak by comparison. She usually has to quests at a bit higher level than most characters, but I like the challenge. To compensate for her weakness in melee and complete lack of spells (other than a few trinkets she's picked up), she's uberstealthy and lethal with a long bow. Hide in plain sight is great (when it works ). She can sneak attack, hide, then sneak attack again. If she misses, she hides. If she gets too hurt, she hides until her troll ring heals her. She still may be a generally weak character, but I am having fun playing her.
