first you download the PP software from partypoker.com

then you need to verify your bank account if you want instant direct deposit into your PP account. then you can go on and play.

Ugh, ain't too keen on handing out that kind of information. I'll bet they'd take a money order or something...

I've improved my take in recent hours to 30$ an hour. Am playing 4 1$/2$ tables at once. Pretty sure I can maintain new level of income. My intuition on a few starting hands was a bit off (played around with the numbers a bit and found some hole cards I'd been undervaluing by 5-10% or so). The 1$-2$ folks actually play looser after the flop than the guys at the cheaper tables do. Also, I've found that I'm able to bluff them a lot easier at the river if they were drawing and missed (so long as I'd been betting at them the whole time).

This works well when I've figured them for a drawing hand and I have a better drawing hand (needing the same cards especially). If we both hit the flush or whatever then I've made money by putting it in the hand first, and the guy will reraise me a lot since he thinks I've been betting with a made hand which has just gotten destroyed by his lucky draw. If we both miss it then my raise on the river will knock him out even if he's hit a small pair somewhere along the way and I just have ace high.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

I have absolutely no clue how to do the math aspect of poker. That's one thing I'm gonna have to learn - although I do OK without it so far.

All I operate on is the math. Don't generally get exact figures, but can get to within 1% fairly quickly.

What exactly are you calculating? Pot odds, odds of hitting your hand, what? My mind isn't very math oriented, so it's hard for me to grasp the concept.

I DO notice what you're talking about re: people who draw all the time. Anytime two of the same suit come on the flop, it's almost guaranteed someone hit a four-flush and you can bet the hell out of them if you hit anything.

Help yourself to an AD-FREE life

Like tonight I reraised with a drawing hand on the flop.

I had 5h-6h and the flop comes 4h-7h-Ks. One guy raises and the next calls.

I have 15 outs to this hand out of 47 cards, so it's a bit less than 1/3 chance of hitting in with the next card off the top. The chance of hitting with two cards is thus 1-(1-1/3)*(1-1/3) = 1-(2/3 * 2/3) = 5/9

I was pretty sure that neither of them was drawing so my chance of winning the hand are around 55% at this point. There are two other people there so any dollar I put out will be matched by two other dollars.

So every dollar I raise (if they call) is earning me on average 0.55 * 3 - 1 = 65 cents (i.e. my investment of a dollar on average comes back to me as 1.65).

Unfortunately I didn't hit either card so I lost money on the raise that time, but it demonstrates why I would raise with a drawing hand.

I think actually what helps me is I have a good read on when to lay down hands. Laid down QQ tonight on 4th street with three clubs and no overcards on the board, but I'm about 90% sure playing out the hand would have cost me a lot more than the $15 I was already invested into it.

If you have pot odds (i.e. you need to call a dollar raise but stand a 1 in 6 chance like an outside straight draw of winning the 10$ with the next card) then it's good to call. This is where you're "paying" to see cards. It's a good idea to raise somebody if they're drawing on you (because usually you are the favourite in terms of percentage chance to win the hand), but if they have pot odds on you then it will be a good idea for them to call you as well.

If you have absolute odds to win the hand (see above) then it's a good idea to raise because on average each raise you make earns you money.

Of course, there are some hands you just HAVE to play, such as 10-2, 7-2, 6-9, etc.

gave 100 to a friend so im up 150. cashed out 225 this morning and only have 75 in the account. Im playing right now and im up about 50.

limit poker is where its at. Its a lot more predictable for me at least. i get a better sense of what people have and it has saved my ass a lot of times by not betting everything ive had.

the worst beat i had on that rush was i made the nut flush on the flop with AK and the guy pulls a boat out of nowhere. I was astounded, i lost 50 dollars on it. I was steamed.

i dont get the numbers as much but i do know when to hold and fold. i have loose understanding of pot odds. Im a pretty sure bet player though and will rarely ever bluff though.
