Anyone see the new commercial?

...
Paul Galanti, captured in 1966 after ejecting from his fighter jet about 100 miles south of Hanoi, said on the Sean Hannity radio show yesterday he first heard Kerry's testimony in late 1971 when it was broadcast by his North Vietnamese captors over the public address system in the infamous "Hanoi Hilton" prison.
The broadcast on Radio Vietnam by "Hanoi Hannah" was used to reinforce the message of his captors during torture sessions, said Galanti, 64, now retired in Richmond, Va.
"We were not prisoners of war, we were 'war criminals,' they would say. 'You are going to be tried, you will never go home.'"
Then came Hanoi Hannah introducing a clip from Kerry's testimony.
"I couldn't believe it, a Navy officer saying we were all war criminals, that we raped and pillaged the countryside like Genghis Khan," said Galanti.
Galanti, who flew 97 combat missions, said he had not suffered a flashback from the war until he recently heard a recording of the April 22, 1971, testimony before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
His memory was triggered when he heard Kerry mispronouncing "Ghenghis Khan."
"Then I was back there again," he said.
Galanti said Kerry broke a covenant with his fellow servicemen, to never jeopardize their safety with public criticism. But he believes, moreover, the Massachusetts senator betrayed his country.
"John Kerry was a traitor," he said, adding the "definition of treason is giving aid and comfort to the enemy in the time of war."
As WorldNetDaily reported, Galanti appears in a new television ad by Swift Boat Veterans for the Truth, a group of 254 vets who served with Kerry and have signed a letter contending he is unfit to be commander in chief.
The 30-second spot intersperses comments from Galanti and another former POW, Ken Cordier, with Kerry's 1971 testimony.
Galanti says in the ad, "John Kerry gave the enemy for free what I and many of my comrades in North Vietnam, in the prison camps, took torture to avoid saying. ... It demoralized us."
Later, Galanti concludes the ad with, "He dishonored his country and, more importantly, the people he served with. He just sold them out."

And Kerry was so decent in betraying his fellow men. But we don't want to mention that do we?

Here is a 1973 photo of Galanti. Of course the Kerry campaign will begin their smear campaign against him next. He must be a liar like all the rest of the Vietnam Veterans who do not support Kerry -- yeah, that's it, he's a liar... Or maybe this is a forged photo and the man is an imposter... No, Bush must have put him up to it...

then there is this new POW thing (which is unsolicited by anyone, but I guess because it is anti-Kerry he must be part of the conspiracy). |
Wait, are you serious? Somebody pays very significant money to broadcast an ad villifying Kerry. A whole organization has been created with the only aim of villifying Kerry (notice that even in the ad depicted in the article, the vet doesn't even try to deny Kerry's claims of war crimes, nor does he try to restore his honor)
The timing is chosen right now, when the whole campaign revolves around Kerry's military record. And you think that with all that money, with such good timing, and with such impact in the campaign, this is "unsolicited by anyone"?
Gee, the more I look at the reactions of Republicans in this campaign, the more I get a live example of what my textbooks called "party identification". "Party fanaticism" would be more like it actually.

Perhaps in France you know all the political figures in your government, but here a citizen of CA could care less about an Mass Senator. Probobly didn't even know he was in politics untill be became national a year ago. I. E. no need to point put the failings of a non entity.
And did the fighter pilot or swifties pay for these adds? They simply told the right people the stories, and of course it would the anti-Kerry team, and someone sponsored them. If this confounds you, well you are a communist so open politics would. Perhaps the Kerry team would have enlighted us out of a sense of far play?
And Kerry revolved his own campaign around his military record, which is FALSE. Talk about party idenfication, you are the poster child.

HAHAHAHAH
Thats a good one Spiffor, that claim from Kerry doesn't even warrent the dignity of a respose. Kerry himself has bent over backwards to erase the memory of his claims of "war criminals" from the public eye. NOBODY, except maybe disgruntled Apolytoner's (which the best indication of nobody in the real world) considisders Vietnam Vets war criminals. Classic Spiffor, Classic.
