easy. I small number of women sleep with a large majority of men. It has been this way for many, many years. |
That still doesnt work out...
Suppose we have 2 women who slept with 10 men (the same 10) and 8 women who slept with one man each, and 8 women virgin (to make 20 on each side)
you'll get an average of 2.8 partners for both sexes...
FACT : if we assume that we are considering an equal amount of men and women, and that all sex acts are between a man and a woman (ill get to the objections later) then the average amount of partner for men and women will be the same.
OBJECTION 1 : the number of men in population is slightly different but in any poll or statistics, this shouldnt make more than 2% difference.
OBJECTION 2 : one act with multiple partners won't matter as long as both partners will count it also so.
OBJECTION 3 : this one is a bit bigger, it involves the fact that in fact not all sex acts are between different sexes... While this is true, I dont think there is enough of a difference between male gay sexual activity and femal gay sexual activity to make such a big difference on the average of the whole population
3 for women and 6 for men
If indeed poll bring up suchs numbers, the only answer I can see, and the one I find most probable is under-reporting for women and over-reporting for men...
funny it seems to fit a certain theme in American Pie 2 about the rule of three, where men multiply by three and women divide...

Yeah of course I was thinking of arithmetic average among whole populaton...
if its a median or a small segment of pop it would be different...

Have you ever considered the priesthood?
My uncle did... until he was about 32. Real messed up in the head.
You love your mom? Your brother? Why don't you have sex with them?
BECAUSE... you will not find "true love" without sex. It just doesn't work that way. If you just wanted love, your family would be enough.
You dont want love, you want sex. Get honest about it, get real about it, and you'll get it. Keep searching for "love first" and you'll have a hard time.
A lot of people do wait until marriage..... and they get married at 19 or 20.

I am not interested in sex without love, and I don't mean love = you are pretty and I want to get in your pants |
I detect some real confusion.
1) You bettter think she is pretty, and you better want to get into her pants.
2) If you are looking for that deep love that you see other people have... not gonna happen because it only comes with time. And if you take too long to make it happen, (If she won't), she will find someone else that will make her want to. It doesn't mean you have to apply pressure, but it means one of you better not be shy.
3) the love will come with time only. The first time around, you may think you are in love, but they call it "puppy love". Many times the first person is just simply not the person for you. At 24, you deserve some action. You held out long enough man!

I'd say you are applying your own experiences and opinions as a generalized blueprint for the rest of the world.
Sorry, the world doesn't work that way

no, I have never considered the preisthood (or being celibate)
love for family 'should be' completely different than love for a spouse
and of course I will think that she is pretty, and want to get into her pants, I am not some confused kid
relationships are not all about sex, and from what I have seen those that are only about sex doen't last
and I think I know what 'puppy' love is, I have had numerous crushes (And I also know that crushes can develope, unfortunately for one reason or another none of mine did)
I think that you are the confused one

(my freinds who waited until marriage generally did do sexual activity beforehand and had all graduated college before getting married)

I actually think your responses are stupid (when I reread what you were responding to)
what is the whole priesthood response about, I said I wanted sex
and your response that for love to occur, you have to be having sex with a girl is all ****ed up
I don't beleive in pressuring people, and I do beleive in respecting whoever I am with

(NYE that is straight US pop, US isn't conservate here by any means (same stats put the average or mean number of same sex partners, for a straight in the US, at 1-2 (which I guess adds one more to the total (homosexuals in the US had a higher average number of partners))))

casual sex is not what everyone is doing, I know many (in fact, by far the majority) who just have sex with SO/GF/BFs (with whom they are at least somewhere on the path from initial attraction to love)

no
sex combines physical attraction and romantic love
many people go to sex for the one, and come out with the other
a female freind of mine, for example, had numerous BFs who she knew were dicks, but she was attracted to them and so dated and had sex with them
she than started to have feelings for them and she was hurt when they turned out to be the dicks she had known them to be
also, it is more the possible (in fact, I belive that it happens to everyone all the time) to feel physical attraction for others even if you love who you are with, but if you act on it generally the Relationship has problems

Currently, the plan to diversify experiences is unclear. my gf and I both share the opinion we don't want to have known only one partner by the time of our death, but we haven't figured out how to organize the experiment time. |
that is very silly
I think it is very romantic to only know one partner
Jon Miller
(any experiment time could hurt your relationship, it would probably be best if you do do such a time to do it when you guys are appart, you know, take a vacation to different parts of the world and than don't question eachother when you both return)

I really don't give a rat's ass if you have sex or not. If you want to wait, I am not going to stop you. Wait as long as you want.
Puppy love is not a crush BTW. Puppy love is being in love because you know you are eventually going to get laid. The longer you wait, the more "in love" you feel.... until marriage... then.... well... then you find out if that person really was the right person.
And pressuring, I didn't say pressure, I said don't be shy. Pressuring is not the same thing as not being shy. It means be honest about what you want, and viola, you'll find her starting to be honest. Hell of a lot more fun than talking about children and why you whould wait until you are married.
@Spiffor
Strange you and your GF agree you don't want to be with the same person your whole life. There really is no way out, as love and sex do actually go hand in hand.
Allthough it is good to be honest about your feelings, realistically any action on them would be devestating.... unless you became swingers, which could be so uncomfortable, but not knowing what happened on a vacation would be so, so much mre uncomfortable.
Also, I don't know how long you two have been together, but have you forgotten how hard sex can be with a stranger... awkward, and such? It could also be very unsatisfying, knowing or thinking about her on her vacation.

This is indeed the problem. We both lost our virginity together, a year and a half ago. And we talked about it (on my initiative, given that I'm very open minded wrt sex) quite quickly.
While we both agree on the principle, we also both know it is risky for our relationship, and we don't want to waste it like that.
However, I believe the popular wisdom that says the more serious one is while young, the more womanizer while old. And should my gf and I become a happy family, I don't want to waste everything for some sexual curiosity (from my part, or from hers).
I don't think I'd be too disturbed by her having sex with somebody else (just to try), but she'd definitely feel utterly betrayed if I cheated on her - hence my not cheating on her.

7.
I lost my virginity some 8 months ago; 4 of them were during my 2-month foray into Tel Aviv. Now I sorta got a girlfriend, with whom I have not yet had sex, seeing as we've been together something like a week and a half, me being away on rehearsal marathon for half a week and on top of it all her being a virgin.
I have never successfully managed to penetrate a virgin or the above count would be higher. I am nervous, but also in love.
What the heck.
