Notradamus/Usama bin Ladin Got spare money?

Anyone still have a copy of Notradamus laying around?

If I recall correctly, Notradamus predicts the Anti-Christ (or at least an Anti-Christ-like figure) will arise from the Muslim world. And I believe there was references to weapons of mass destruction and a world-wide war.

I think these predictions are found about 80-85% of the way through the book.

Can anyone verify this?

thanks.

I don't think his CV is big enough to earn him the title of antichrist though.

You don't. He predicts a figure from 'the east'. There are references to what have been interpreted as a New Ghengis Khan. He states that the figure will have a holy day on a Thursday - this is not Islam. There are references to a third anti-Christ, although there is no definite quatrain AFAIK that links the identity to this other figure. He may only be a foreshadower of the 3rd anti-christ. An anti-John-the-Baptist perhaps.

Of course there are references to a world war, fire and blood and anguish and whatnot. It's WW3.

I remember reading something about a blue turban. The anti-christ is supposed to have a trademark blue turban or blue hat of some kind. Maybe a blue beret. I think the anti-christ is supposed to be a military leader/head of state. Not some run of the mill terrorist asswipe.

Thanks Gangerolf. These are some of the lines I was misremembering:

quote:

Century X - Quatrain 72:

The year 1999, seventh month,
From the sky will come a great King of Terror:
To bring back to life the great King of the Mongols,
Before and after Mars to reign by good luck.

If this refers to UBL, he's two years too late and from the wrong country--although, would someone from Notradamus's generation distiguished between a Mongol and an Islamic fundamentalist fanatic?

If the 'King of Terror" was supposed to be bin Laden, he were to bring back to life "the great King of the Mongols," namely Genghis Khan.

Bah. If I were the anti-Christ, I'd be a woman and I'd rise to power in a part of the world that can actually project that power (i.e. sure as hell not in the Middle East). I bet a lot of folks wouldn't see that coming.

You take it WAY too literally. It will be a Kahn-like figure, and "bring back to life" could mean the actions of one "King of Terror" brings forth a leader as a consequence, called the "King of the Mongols"

That's the Biblical anti-Christ. Nostradamus had three: Napoleon Bonaparte, Adolf Hitler, and this "King of the East".

Enter the AD-FREE zone

For examples, this is one supposedly about Napoleon:

C3Q35
From the very depths of the West of Europe,
A young child will be born of poor people,
He who by his tongue will seduce a great troop:
His fame will increase towards the realm of the East.

Now here's an interesting one possibly about these days:

When those of the arctic pole are united together,
Great terror and fear in the East:
Newly elected, the great trembling supported,
Rhodes, Byzantium stained with Barbarian blood.

The third anti-Christ is obviously Arnold Schwarzenegger.

His only goal has always been total world domination, and he simply managed to find the path of least resistance: work out, become a body builder, move to America and become an actor, become governor, then president and rule the world. It's so obvious!!

Experts believe it could be either...I'm more inclined to say it is Napoleon, because I take the interpretation of "Fame" to mean he swept West to East...Hitler was more of an outword conquorer

Think about this quatrain, then:

quote:
C1 Q25

The lost thing is discovered, hidden for many centuries.
Pasteur will be celebrated almost as a God-like figure.
This is when the moon completes her great cycle,
but by other rumors he shall be dishonored.

From Erika Cheetham:

"Another fascinating quatrain which contains not only the name of Pastuer but also a very specific dating although not apparent at first. Pasteur's discovery that germs polluted the atmosphere was one of the most important in medical history, and led to Lister's theory of sterilization. The Encyclopedia Britannica says that Pastuer, the 'demi-Dieu,' 'was now the acknowledged head of the greatest chemical movement of the time.' He founded the Institute Pastuer on 14th November 1889; the cycle of the moon ran from 1535 to 1889. The rumours that dishonoured him may mean the violent opposition to his methods which were roused among powerful members of the Academy, against the new practices of the Institute such as vaccines against hydrophobia etc."

I love how people look back at the quatrains and can impart history into them . Also the translation stuff is sketchy; I read a book, where to translate Nostradamus they took out a few letters to establish the 'dating period'. It was funny .

@The Emperor Fabulous:

How was what he discovered "lost"?

Pasteur is simply French for pastor, which fits right in with the original "demi Dieu" bit. Someone decided it was Louis Pasteur and fit the other 3 lines around it.

Which important figure isn't both celebrated and dishonored?

And please explain to me what moon cycles exactly run for 354 years. How many other great cycles does the moon have? On how many other years could you say a cycle ends?

Not to mention the Pasteur Institute wasn't founded in 1889, but in 1888, and his germ theory is from at least ten years earlier (I couldn't find a date of the original discovery).

Lost probably indicates the thing that scientists knew existed but couldn't prove, or the "missing link" as it were.

quote:

Pastuer plus date plus discovery.

Also, the original text says "Pasteur", not "Le Pasteur". Nostradamus always includes "le" or "L' " when he means a noun.

quote:

Nostradamus was an astrologist. The date is from an astrological point of view. While "horoscopes" don't necessarily mean anything, the cycles of the moon, where it is in the sky, stuff like that, are all scientific.

quote:

That's still towards the end of the cycle, isn't it?
