This is a pretty stupid statement.

Who cares?

On average those 100 people will walk out poorer than they walked in. The casino is sitting pretty.

Do you think you're the first person to come up with a double-up system? Don't be silly. I thought this through when I was in elementary school.

Like LulThyme says: all the "system" does is increase the amount you're risking while keeping the reward constant. This obviously drives up the odds of walking out ahead, but it's a sucker bet because of the inordinate amount you're risking for an almost negligible reward.

Say you walk in with enough to go through ten rounds of betting using your double-up system and with an original bet of 100$. You need 102 300$ in chips to cover such a run. The house edge on blackjack is something like 52-48 IIIRC, so the chances of you losing all ten hands in a row is 0.52^10 = 0.00145

So there's a 99.855% chance you will win 100$

and a 0.145% chance you will lose 102 300$

Sucker bet. In fact, on average you lose 48$ with this system.

Full PM-box? Change here!

Its funny when people think they can beat the casinos.

I guess all those millions of people, including wealth folks are all too stupid to see the brilliance of the double up system LOL.

As I said casinos love to see such systems. If people are doing it with an initial stake of 100, their worst case is that some folks are up 100 at a given moment (or 200,300,400,500,600 if they have had winning streaks) while at the same time there are people down 100,200, 400, 800,1600, 3200)---

Oh and of course you might win kid-- you might walk away with a fistful of money, but rest assured that there will be more than enough losers to pay for your winning.

I'm still not sure though why you don't just multiply your bet by 10 each time you lose

ok lets see, youre playing against the casino...
casino win = you lose and vice versa
so if casino mostly win , you mostly lose
and notice there was nothing assumed about any person, so you're not any better than the other people.

actually i dont even know why i keep explaining when your last argument (although not directed to me)
was shut your pie hole...

So if you need more explanation I can try, but I would advise doing some simulations or go lose your money might be the only thing that could convince you.

The thing is he COULD win. But thats about as much proof of the effectiveness of the system as if I were to win the lottery by picking numbers using the last two digits of the value of the DOW average at certain specified times

Very true.

If you have the money to burn by risking it gambling, why not invest in stocks with high risk?

I'll bet you come out ahead if for every dollar you take with you gambling, you invest another dollar.

The truth hurts, sweetie. You've completely missed the point. If a million people did what you described then the casino would be up around 48 million dollars.

Nice retort though.

I agree and already made my point.
A pretty average stock breaker will probably get more money return on money invested than a very good roulette player (whatever that is )

I'm not going to do it anyway. I'm going to buy an acre up in the hills and put a mobile home on it. If I were to lose I wouldn't be able to do that.
