Cowbell

BTW, is the song in the cowbell sketch a real song? If so, what's it called? I've always wondered that.

Support Apolyton, buy Call to Power 2

quote:
Anyone notice how everytime Cheney corrects Edwards' facts, Edwards just repeats his incorrect facts again.

Yeah and Edwards is definately wrong on the $200 billion in Iraq figure. Edwards did a crap job at responding to Cheney in general.

quote:
Lots of good Haliburton stuff. About damn time Cheney's called on that.

But its a "smoke scree" Cheney said so

quote:
Nelson Mandela! Didn't think Edwards would bring that up. Nice.

Yeah I can't believe I hadn't heard that before. That's pretty damning.

quote:
SO they're keeping Bush's tax cuts for people under $200,000.
How many people are OVER $200,000?

Hell no.
And Cheney's statement about how many of those $200,000+ people are small businesses is BS. Most of those "small businesses" are self-employed people and taxing them more doesn't kill jobs in the way that Cheney suggested. Too bad Edwards didn't call him on it.

quote:
They are breaking all sorts of rules. Asked a question on Halibourton, and Cheney says he'll first criticize Edwards on his voting record. And the moderator just happily allows him to use half of his time on that.

Yeah, they need to hire a bouncer for the debates to smack them whenever they get off topic.

quote:
Did Edwards basically say that his solution to reducing frivolous lawsuits is to let lawyers decide which lawsuits have merit?

Well in his defense, he did say that if a lawyer filed a frivolous malpractice case three times he wouldn't be able to file malpractice claims anymore. That seems fair enough.

quote:
He (Cheney) has landed a number of light punches but it really doesn't matter, he's losing the debate because he comes across like a major a--hole. And Edwards has delivered the most damaging blow so far by bringing up Halliburton, Cheney didn't have an adequate response.

Thinking about "style"/likability makes my brain hurt. I don't know how to judge that too well. Judging by formal debate standards Cheney definately beat Edwards but not nearly as much as Kerry beat Bush. Cheney was far far far more well spoken than Bush.

quote:
Edwards is such a sycophant.

Yeah I loved the bit when he kept on "breaking the rule" and talking about Kerry when he was supposed to only talk about the two Veep candidates He couldn't think too well on his feet and kept on retreating to his sound bites it seemed.

quote:
I think Edwards will be the democratic nominee for president sometime in the future. I'm sure he was an excellent trial lawyer.

God, I hope not.

quote:

On CNN, Carlos Watson thought Edwards was more likely to influence the undecided voter.

Of course, he also scored Bush as the winner in the first debate, so I think he's just batshit.

Yeah, where the hell did they get that idiot?

quote:
Everything in this post is extremely accurate.

Thanks.

quote:
Cheney was the one who brought stuff up out of left field. What was that rant about education in the question about jobs?

Not as much as Edwards. There were times when he COMPLETELY dodged the question, not that Cheney didn't too but Edwards did it more.

Got spare money?

I'd have liked to see a Biden vs. Cheney debate.
