Did you see the ESPN think on Denkinger? I feel for the guy. Getting death threats for a call is ridiculous. And the loss wasn't even his fault! So what, one bad call! It was a call that made an out into a single where the Cards were leading 1-0. The runner didn't have to score. The Cards didn't have to lose 11-0 the next day. They choked.

It is sad. I think at one point he lived in StL or nearby (closer than just Iowa)

There would be less animosity, but for the choice of opponent.

We Yankee fans define ourtselves as winners- and we have the basic evidence, 39 Pennats, 26 WS.

You guys define yourself as loveable losers, as a team, of suffering fans- always so close, then BAM!, gone. Always next year.

Well not EVERY Yankee team. I'm sure the Murderer's Row Yankees and the '61 Yanks (Mantle and Maris) will be known for centuries... as long as baseball is still around. And Tinker to Evers to Chance (the Cubs of the 1910s) will be around forever as well.

So lets not go into ultra-hyperbole mode .

Though I do think this Red Sox team, IF they win, will be remembered throughout history as well. Just don't say they'll be remembered long after any Yankees or Cubs team .
