	International Reaction to US Election Support Apolyton buy from Amazon

(hoepfully this will be deemed unique enough to survive the mods, and interesting enough to be used)

There was a feeling before that Bush stole the election in 2000 and while the world hated him, they gave a pass to the American people (mostly), as they felt our leader was illegitimate.

Now that the Americans have chosen, by an even wider margin to elect Bush, thus giving a stamp of approval to all he's done over the last 4 years, how does this affect world opinion of Americans and how does it harm international relations?

Is there no turning back now?

People seem to be whining. Leaders seem to be kissing Bush's ass.

The above refers to Europe, of course. The people and leaders in other parts of the world are much more intelligent and pragmatic.

I heard on NPR that India is fairly positive on Bush, as we've been sending them a lot of American weapons and American jobs.

I was hoping that reconciliation between the US and the rest of the world could begin with a Kerry election. Everyone would recognize the hiccup of the past 4 years, and perhaps even understand an over reaction due to that horirble day in September, and things would go back to normal.

Now I fear rifts will deepen and the US will become more of an aggressive pariah.

Just remember everyone, there is still 48% of us who are decent, intelligent folks. Don't blame us all.

I'm always amazed at how my fellow countrymen can think that America is the bad guy for telling obviously corrupt regimes like those in France and Russia to "f-off" in order to topple a totalitarian regime that was bribing the very countries we gave the finger to...

In many ways I am that boorish, overly patriotic and proud American that everyone stereotypes us as. I see the US as the promise of all that is good and just in this world. We are noble idealism put into practice.

It is for that reason that I care so much of world opinion. I cannot simply shrug off the fact that the entire world is growing increasingly hostile to my country. The world does not see the America I do, and its not because of blind anti-Americanism, there are real misdeeds being conducted in the name of America. Re-electing Bush has only given popular cover to those misdeeds.

Worse than having anyone hate the land I love is seeing my people give them reasons to.
