Arcan, um yes research is directly tied to how much energy you take in...when you are messing with the percent research tax and psych you are changing the amount of energy that goes to each of these three things. Check the civpedia...

Problem with this year's turn. I wanted to look something up about terraforming. I tried to escape out of the password prompt and after I hit escape enough times it let me out. Then when I actually put in the password to play it said I had already played this turn and would warn the others of possible tampering. Rather than go through a bunch of crap to get rid of the warning, I'm just sending it on as is because this is what actually happened.

2119 to arcaniate where are you finding all these worms? I have seen only about two from pods...guess I need to go trawling a bit more. Yea don't know if you read this goog but this is the first time when the AI starts building special projects around year 15 as they usually do that I've actually been woried about loosing the building race to them. Heh

Yeah - I'm following it with interest.

I didn't beef up the AI too much in the early game - just started them with their 3 bases already placed (so that I could instruct their base governors) - but that does give them a real early boost.

Then you should catch up. After that, their mid game tweak should kick in (energy, that'll boost their research) and with the 3 base governor tweaks I gave them should send them on a builder spree with research hospitals, fusion labs, nanolabs, etc etc

So I will be following with interest how this one develops

There was an error during my turn. Something about Terran or Terrax...it was right before I was ready to hit turn complete. I was fooling around making the scout patrol obsolete so that when I create a new base it won't make a scout patrol but will make the upgraded one instead. I then kept playing until I got the same result from the datapod I recovered that turn. Minerals. I had to replay the turn a few times to get the minerals out of it again. I even gave up a tech discovery that I needed (information networks) to try to get it back to minerals again.
I apologize for the inconvenience and the crediblity test, I only wish I had hit turn complete a little sooner.

In the fungus that i so nicely bloomed on a river which was to be my main source of energy. Still, aslong as i'm killing them and getting ec's to let me run labs at a higher setting to make up for it then it evens out ... but the moment they destroy a pod or former !!

I can see how having three bases already planted would make them stronger in the begining should be interesting. Thanks for your hard work.
