Okay, let's all broaden our horizons here:
Planned Parenthood does NOT encourage bestiality and all the other silly crap Pat Robertson and company claim. Correct. They promote things other than abortion. Correct. However, they do support abortion as an option, which makes them problematic at best for any pro-lifer, obviously. It'd be nice to see a poll on public support of an organization that endorses contraceptives without the baby-butcher backing to boot. Probably a LOT higher than Planned Parenthood's. PP supports contraceptives and family planning too, but then again the dixiecrats might have stood for a lot of positive things in addition to segregation. We'd still remember them for the racism bit, so let's get serious.
On a similar note for the opposite side of the political spectrum, this is not a two-sided battle here. As fun as it is to vilify the ideological minority, the country is not divided into "pro-sex" and "anti-sex" camps. There are people who just don't want their kids seeing the Levitra commercials, or Janet Jackson's boob, during football games, but are politically neutral. There are people like me who oppose abortion but are all for other forms of family planning. There are people who are horrified by any sex on TV but don't really care what people do when there are no children to see.
And then there's the narrow camp represented by this article. It gets broad support because the only other option is to endorse an equally narrow ideology in the exactly opposite direction. So people go with what offers the most important thing to them even if it does involve "sleeping with the devil," so to speak. Me, I don't care about men having sex with men, and I'm sorry they're anti-contraceptive, but the abortion issue outweighs those for me. I still vote mostly liberal due to the fact that I hate the GOP position on most non-social issues, but it's a two-party system and this is what happens...
