In comedy this is called a call back. It is a joke that refers to a previous joke, this, in effect creates what is known as an inside joke. |
okay, inside joke...

As in reality, I can do predictions which may turn out right, wrong or somewhere in between.
Predictions are based on a model. You also have a model of the game in your head, because with every action that you take you'd like something to happen that is in line with _your_ predictions.
If it's in line, with jack's, is written on another leaf.

Australia to World: We join everyone else in condemning the actions of Israel against whats-his-face that they're imprisoning.
OOC: I'd like to comment on Bipolarbear's pulling of financial aid from Israel. He's playing as the US government here; if he, as the government, wants to change what he does with his tax money, it's entirely within his rights. It's going to really, really anger his voters, but what I did with nuclear power angered people and no one accused me of cheating or being unrealistic. Stupid, maybe, but not cheating. In the words of someone or other, "I disapprove of what you say, but I will defend to the death your right to say it."

Australia has just finished a project for school on genocide, and would like to congratulate in general the actions and governments of Indonesia, Rwanda, and China, for the atrocities and violations of human rights commited by these governments. Especially China, whose long and varied career of human rights violations have included crucifixion, disembowlment, and vivsection, including the very public Tianamen Square. Also congratualtions on having the single largest scale human rights atrocity since the Holocaust; I am, of course, speaking about Tibet. Again, congratulations on your achievement of the position of World Human Rights Violations Leader!
Sorry, had to get that out of my system.

OOC: No, but if the Pope of an NES decided to invade Pakistan, I might take the Vatican in retribution. Lots of money tied up in all the art and architecture in there. In all seriousness, I'd support the Pope's right to try that, and I'd expect the mod to report the Pope's Darwin Award-Winning demise in the next update. And the government of Iran could decide to become a Jewish monarchy, he'd just have to deal with the massive revolts of his people. It's Bipolarbear's right, as the American Government, to spend his money on what he wants.
Jack, can we get an official ruling on the situation?

OOC: I happen to agree with ciders and bear, if we wanted complete realism we'd just read the newspaper and forget about playing an NES. And i'd like the add that what i see in the paper is often pretty unreal right there.
In other news, due to religious propiganda, the Indian people are clamoring that India reclaim Kashmir for India. The government is reciving extreme ammounts of pressure to carry out this task. Riots are being threatned by relgious groups if India's government does not comply.

OOC: This is all up to Jack in the end. If Jack decides to have the people of America riot in protest, then they will, and Bipolarbear will pay the consequences for his actions. But I think the idea that our powers as governments are limited by what other people consider "realistic" (especially when they have a HUGE interest in the situation) is ludicrous! We make grandiose plans and Jack shoots them down. If Jack sees fit to punish Bipolarbear by causing riots, terrorist attacks or divine intervention, it's up to Jack. But Bipolarbear has the right to make all the orders he wants. You called him a "terrible NES player." That's his business. If he's terrible, then take him over! But don't say he can't make his own decisions just because they work against you.

Glad to know I have some support. Australia follows Americorp's lead in pulling any aid we may be giving to Israel until such time as the Palestinian leader is released.
In other news, Australia will be increasing its naval presence in both the Indian and Pacific oceans by building naval bases in India and Americorp, in territory already aquired in previous turns. Australia will also continue the building of a larger, nuclear-powered navy, including aircraft carriers.
Australia to Americorp: In the building of our new navy, we're going to need the best possible technology. We'd like to hire the contractors you've used in the past. This would help to stimulate your economy. Acceptable?
Australia to India: To build our new navy, we'll need large quantities of iron for the hulls of ships. Don't bother smelting it, we'll take raw iron ore in exchange for even more grain. Sound good?

Australian orders: Begin sending iron ore to my naval base in India to begin construction of the base and to ship back to Australia. These ships are to be guarded in the same manner as the U ships, including the attention of my FBI equivilent.
On the domestic front, the Australian government is responding to the outcries of the people against nuclear power by building large "wind farms" to collect wind energy. This doesn't mean we're stopping with the nuclear projects; these wind farms are simply a supplement.
OOC: Jack, can I get at least a hint of how the whole "AussieCorp" thing is going in the mini-update?

India to Austrlia:
We accept the trade of Iron for grain, if some trianing is included, we'll need some of your men to train ours. ALso, don't forget that we get a small portion of the basses production, we'll provide the iron for said production, as long as it's made
Inida to Amricorp:
We would like to further our allience by trading Diamonds, to stimualte your economy, in exchage for weapons, training and/or technology. Also, we would like to put a base in the pacific ocean, a small base for U-boats and battle ships, in exchange, i will provide a large some of money, and/or iron or other resource.
On the home fornt: Indians still clamor for Kashmir and the defeat of Pakistan. In response to pressures, the government sends diplomats demanding that Pakistan gives India Kashmir. If Pakistan does not compply, then ther will be drastic action taken.

From:Pakistan
To: India
You are gravely misstaken if you believe that we will hand over Kashmir to India. India should be carefull of the threats it gives to other naitons. Lesser things have started wars. Be warned that any action taken by India to take Kashmir by force will be considered an act of war on Pakistan, and remember that we too are a nuclear power.
ooc:
