I work for 3 different nursing agencies and have not taken any of their benefits should they still fire me for smoking? Taking into consideration these companies dont have the staff to relieve me for lunchor breaks and i end up working ove 10 hours a day but hey its the medical field right and im sure that if im in the middle of doing surgery on you,you would appereciate that i didnt just walk out at 3:00 cause that was when i was supposed to get off and nobody was there to relieve me.

1) I would never want a nurse performing surgery on me
2) That's up to the nursing agency. I'm not advocating everyone fire smokers, just that it's within a company's right to do so.

But they do interfere with your work -- one of your costs to the company is health care. If you're costing the company more than you should, you reduce your value to the company.

Here is a news flash for you Hun us surgical nurses do alot more in that operating room thenyou think. First of all whoo do you think sets up that surgical field and passes the insturments? The dr all he does is walk in the room and identify the areas we are working on. Believe you me we surgical nurses do a lot more then you think.

They would pay for it because its a common practice that they offer. I havenever taken advantage of that. I have my own personal health insurance. But whether i did or didnt isnt the fact that i work my a** off with little or no breaks every day including lunch be deserving on my part?

Thank you... just look back and see my STRONG support for equal treatment... to get all the legal rights involved as well as being able to call it MARRIAGE.

If religions don't want to perform them... fine, their right too... but that shouldn't stop the state or whomever from performing the same rite available to anybody else.

No Im sorry you just dont get it. HOw is working my ass off not a benefit to them. have you ever been woke up at 100 am after just geting off a 10 hr shift to work another with no sleep? I guess its ok for the bigwigs since it isnt their bodies up all night or their loved ones being operated on.
