	Foreign Correspondence Thread Suffering from ads?

I have spoken with Snoopy about the possibility of trading more technology. From this we can assume they have developed one.. I stalled for time incase we wanted to trade pottery for their tech.

In my discussions with McMeadows and our Foreign Minister last night, it was established that we are researching IW and team Euphorica is researching HBR. We will then trade those techs and they will top up the difference with some cash.

HBR will be very useful......but errr, have we got the Wheel yet?

McMeadows asked what was going on, stated that they wished to continue to be "allies" with us. I am unaware of when we signed an alliance, but never mind..

I told Mcmeadows that we took a shortcut through their land, and meant no harm.. He asked why it had taken me so long to tell him this, and was celarly suspicious. I told him one of our less-active members had proposed an attack, when he saw the town was empty in the screenshot, but the member was voted down by all the other members, who had been paying more attention to the situation.. not the best way to handle it, but I had to think on my feet

agreed. To not do so risks missing out if they trade with another team. It also lulls them into a false-sense of security, thinking we are their trading partners..

I have had discussions with the Horde.. They wish us to research Mathematics, and then trade that to them for another tech. They claim we are backwards, but they also do not know we just researched iron working. I wonder how advanced they could actually be.. Not that much, I bet.

They also offer to sell us this unnamed tech for 200 gold.. I hinted we had to close to that, in an effort to get the details of the tech out of them. They are currently having a poll to see if they want to tell us what the tech is. How nice of them.. Not sure I like the way they are treating us, actually - They should be one of the first against the wall

Pffft, the Horde's offer reminds me of those no-see itineraries you can get on travelocity, etc. Could be a deal, but could also wind up being a red-eye with a 30 minute connection time in Hartsfield (large, unwieldy and extremely busy airport in Atlanta, for you furriners ).

On a serious note, I'm with you doubting that they could be very advanced.

When I opened the turn, the only possible response to their offer of Mysticism was IW or Alphabet. Since Alphabet is cheaper, I offered that to them.

Moonbars, please go back and clarify this with them.

This is exactly the approach we must expect from the Horde. They made it clear in the pre-game discussion that they are in it for the kill.....plus they are Mongols called the Blood Oath Horde, so it's a bit of a no-brainer. Then again, we're the Desolaters but acted like pussies at the first chance we got, so go figure

Anyway, I agree with Moonbars. They will be aggressive, so let's expect no favours. They may however, be too far away to be an early target. It makes no sense to send an Army across the continent leaving our homeland exposed to our neighbours, who would be much juicier and softer targets.

Remember also that our main strike force will be slow-moving Immortals. Their best job is against a close neighbour. If we send them too far it will be the middle-ages before they get there

Have again approached the lost boys.. still no reply from them, we are three techs up. I suspect they are going down the writing/CoL/Phil/Replublic branch..

I spoke with Snoopy about trading Maths for Horseback Riding, as soon as we've researched that. We may be able to trade maths to the BoH for writing if we are lucky, as well.

That's a bit unfriendly of them.

And for the record, our Warrior is not "patrolling" their borders, but exploring the land around their borders so that we can see where they place their future towns. There's nothing sinister in that!

Once we settle that spot they will be obliged under international law to leave or declare war!
