Never i think. Maybe Marc Gene and Pedro de la Rosa scored points in the same race some years ago but i believe not.

Not a bad race at all, though, being a 'tifosi' myself, the "Renault-wins-all" is starting to bore me.

Anyway, Alonso did a great job, as well as De La Rosa. With Raikkonen in third, McLaren seems to be getting better.

Schumi did what he could do. Bad tyres ruined the race for Barrichello. I think that at Imola things will be different. No more hot weather, and I expect a better performance from the Bridgestone tyres.

My prediction?

1. Alonso/Fisichella
2. M. Schumacher
3. Trulli/Raikkonen

De la Rosa did much better than I would have expected since he hasn't been racing F1 for a couple of years, but "starve" a man for a couple of years and give him a good car .... those fights with Webber (?) was half the fun.

Next race is tricky. Heat, dust and sand must have taken their toll on those that completed. If those Italian engineers get their job done, Schumi will be dangerous with his fresh engine.

My prediction :

1. Alonso
2. M. Schumacker
3. Raikonnen

Unless of course if it's raining, then Alonso drops out and it will be a battle between Schumi and Raikonnen.

Btw. what the hell happened to Red Bull ? Someone take their balls or did they spare the engines to next race ?

Nope. I don't think he crashes or drive off, I just don't think he has the ice and ability to drive fast.

Seems like Schumi must have a small miracle to get a podium finish, BlackCat I love the new qualification rules, you have give 100% all the time. No slacking is allowed. And it has forced Ferrari to compete on somewhat even terms with the rest, something Schumi isnīt used to apparently. When he takes risks and drives on the edge heīs likely to make mistakes, just as any other driver. That makes him almost human

And BAR seems to have got their act together, finally

Great racing by Alonso and Kimi as well. Iīm looking forward to a blazing duel between those two.

Grrrreat race! i have not seen something like this in many years.

Alonso fantastic again. It was incredible he managed to defend his position along 10 laps against a muuuuuch faster car. Today his pace was not so good but judging for how many few training laps he did all the weekend (only 20!) certainly the Barhain engine was no right. He was lucky today too, becuase Kimi retirement.

Schumi incredibly 2 seconds faster than any other car in this race. Better race driver today. F-2005 seems at light years of any other car. But Couldnt pass Alonso even being 2 seconds faster (but this is Imola) It is a bit worrying to think that without that mistake in Q2 he would have won easily. *

If MS was the better Button was the butter driver. It was easy for Alonso to maintain the gap and even easier for MS to pass him. Anyway he was 3rd, very good for that car.

About the others it seems BAR has improved, Villenueve was even good today, reliability and Kimi are imcompatible (again) but his team mateīs car was consistent (again) , it sems Trulli good times have ended but he was ahead de Ralf, Fisichella was nowhere all the weekend, Webber was mediocre.

*in fact MS could and should have won. He failed. But he was the salt of the race.

Michael Schumacher. Wow.

Even with a slower car in the final laps, Alonso managed to resist and grab his 3rd victory in a row. He sure is a damn fine driver.

Villeneuve was also good, jumping from 11th to 6th. He seems to be getting a little better, but of course the car helped him a lot.

Button was OK, couldn't do better with his car. But with Sato finishing 5th, seems like BAR is improving as well.

Even if he didn't win, Schumi is still the best.

@ Dr Z : I actually predicted Alonso on first and Schumi on second .

If those damn germans could figure out how to make a stable car, Kimi would have been number one.

Besides that, I think the coming races are going to be much more fun than previous seasons.

I'll go first :

Imola (24.04)

1. Alonso
2. Fisichella
3. Trulli

So, I guessed the winner correctly.

Barcelona (08.05)

1. Alonso
2. Fisichella
3. Trulli

Quite stubborn VetL

I'll also take the same as last but in a different way :

1. Kimi
2. Schumi
3. Alonso

And startposition :

1. Kimi
2. Alonso
3. Schumi

I guess that Alonso will fight as hell for a home victory, but not this time - maybe next season.

Oooh, yeah. Just watched the race. Man, is Schumacher back to kick some ass or what?

Props to Alonso though. I didn't expect him to handle the pressure. I figured he'd go off track under attack by Michael as I have seen a few racers do before. But apart from that one tiny little slip, he was good.

And what did happen to Barichello?

For the next race:

1. M. Schumacher
2. Alonso
3. Trulli

Raikonnen - no finish

That's my guess.

OMG, this was the best finish of a race Iīve seen since.....I donīt know when, really.

BlackCat, yeah I know. My crystal ball is on the fritz, apparently

What can you say about Kimi? Can one man have that much bad luck? Heīs a really good driver but he rarely gets to show that since his car craps out on him time and again, itīs a damn shame

Fisichellas accident was also a bit weird, it seemed like he lost all stearing capability and went off the track into the wall. But since it wasnīt anything wrong with the car it must have been a driver mistake. Too bad, Renault needs all the points they can get now that Ferrari is back in the game again. But on the other hand, Baris season so far has been very unimpressive to say the least. So who knows?

Man, this season could be the best in years

Oh, and my predictions for Catalunya:

1) Alonso
2) Schumi
3) Button or possibly Trulli

Alonso has great pressure on his home GP, but he proved today that he can deliver under pressure. I think heīll handle it. And since Iīve rooted for him since 2003 itīs time he delivers Schumi has sorted his **** out and heīs probably going to start subscribing to podium places again. Button is also on the rise again, BARīs worked out the kinks of the new car and Jenson is a terrific driver really. You canīt stop a good driver in a good car, except with an even better driver in an even better car Thatīs why Jenson probably wonīt win any races, if Alonso and Schumi is on the track. And Trulli is also a serious opponent even if the Toyota donīt handle the old tracks that demands a lot of curb driving that well.

Yeah, except for crashing into the wall, It was damn funny at Hungary 2003 when Alonso laped Schumacher. wasn it?

About Spain GP:

Considering that MS failed at his own GP with Kimiīs leaving and Alonso Car at 80% power it will be difficult for him to win at Barcelona...
So:
1-Alonso/Kimi
2-Kimi/Alonso
3-Schumacher or somebody else

Tired of ads?

That was the best race i have seen in a very long time. Alonso has shown a lot of poise in the ending stages.

Unfortunately, i think Ferrari ignoring the testing limitations that the other teams have imposed on themselves is starting to have an impact. And will have more and more impact as the season progresses.

So my choices for the next GP are

1 - Michael Schumacher
2 - Fernando Alonso
3 - Rubens Barrichello

I only hope that somebody finds a way to get Kimi a car that will last a whole race.

How about this for an interesting turn of events: BAR out of the championship?

Basically, BAR used a small "retaining device" in their fuel system, that could be used to hold some fuel. When only the fuel tank was empty, the car was above minimal weight. When both the tank and this device were emptied of fuel, the car was underweight.

Well, itīs pretty clear that this a grey area. BAR havenīt really cheated as the weighing process isnīt completely covered in the rules. All theyīve done is used a loophole. Slightly unsportsmanlike? Yes. Cheating? No. I think BAR is just rubbing Mr E and Mr Mosely the wrong way. Not only are they speaking up against FIA, FOM and Ferrari regarding the conflict about the new Concorde agreement, theyīre also bending the rules. We canīt have that, now can we? Of with his head!

And this is the same FIA that sides with Ferrari and allows them to continue with their unlimited testing... **** you Max Mosely!
