Poor Kimi.

Yet again he has to start ten positions back due to engine problems and a shift.

On the other side, it should make the race more interesting instead of Kimi taking 1st place from lap one and stay there for the rest of the race

No much more interesting. Surely we´ll see Alonso doing that tomorrow. In fact we have seen Alonso doing that too many times this year.

Considering how the McLarens are really good for this race, I predict an interesting battle tomorrow between Alonso and Kimi.

Toyota is surprisingly fast too. Let's see how fast they can be in the race.

I predict an interesting battle between Alonso and Motoya if the colombian is able to pass Button at start, if not it will be another boring race.

Although I´m rooting for Alonso some opposition would be nice, it´s no fun if he does a Schumi and wins the championship when half the season remains...

Kimi, what can you say...?

And it would be nice if BAR could keep their act together and score some points...

Well, Silverstone was certainly better than Magny-Cours, but I was expecting some more fights during the race.

Montoya started wonderfully and was fast all the time

Alonso surprised me, I really did not expect Renault to be so strong in Silverstone.

Once again, nice work from Raikkonen, considering the amount of bad luck he's been having lately

Barrichello: flopped strategy. Not entirely his fault, I know, but even so...

Alonso is right on track to win the championship.

Yes, nice race and a well deserved victory for Montoya. Suddenly everything seemed to work at the same time It´s painfully obvious that no one can keep up with the Mclarens and the Renaults. Too bad for Fisichella though, losing the 3rd place when the engine stalled in the pits And Raikonnen once again showed what a great driver he is. But seriously wtf is up with Trulli? Qualifying like a bat out of hell (almost) then slow as a snail in the race?

I guess that tomorrows race will be pretty boring - Kimi at pole - Kimi takes the lead - Kimi stays there for the rest of the race.

I also guess that's how it is going to happen. The new Hockenheim track sucks big time and we'll have a boring race. But maybe this is good for the championship fight, provided Kimi does not have any engine or tyre failure.

And Montoya just pushed too hard.

I don´t think Kimi will be that superior. Alonso might give him a run for his money, but I think it will come down to pit strategy. And the Renault looks slow compared to McLaren, but they are OTOH under steering quite heavily, look at Montoya One mistake and Kimi´s parked in the tyre barrier. After all he´s never finished a race yet at Hockenheim.

Tired of ads?

Yep. Kimi had exactly the same preoblem as Montoya in the same last turn but he was managed to control his car. Both McLarens seemed much stronger than renaults all weekend. Surely Kimi will win tomorrow. If not, If Kimi goes out the championship will be totally over. I really hope not.

Ok, we all seems to agree that unless Kimi screws himself (or the engine do it), what about MS ? That SOB (and for a rare instance, I use the term positive ) starts as five.

Schumi is always dangerous and if you give him a finger he´ll take the whole hand. So if Kimi and Alonso screws up he´ll be there at the top of the podium.

It depends: Alonso has proven that he is able to get to the front really fast given the right setup. And he can also hold off an attack as he has shown with Schumacher. That would make for an interesting race.

Maybe. I wonder if Kimi would hold off until the first pit stop or if he'd try to pass right away. Even with a better car passing is never an easy proposition in F1.

I doubt Alonso will pass Kimi at start. Renault launch system is not the same as last year and McLaren´s could be even be better if you look at Silverstone. The only posibility i see is that Alonso has more fuel than kimi. If the renault is a bit faster in the race than it seemed all weekend Alonso could fight with Kimi as we saw at Silverstone where he could have won without those three seconds lost behind a lapped Trulli.

Yes, now it´s oficial. Raikkonnen is the most unfortunate F1-driver ever...

A great race nevertheless! Lots of race incidents and fights for position. But that producer should be flogged in public for not showing Fisis takover of Schumi. I mean wtf??

Montoya incredible going froim last to 2nd. At least as quick as Raikkonen, and he has a much more reliable car...

Yeah, it was a sad race course of Kimi's bad luck - strange things shall happen to threat Alonso.

I'm not that sure Kimi is Jinxed - I just think he is so damn good that he manage to press the machinery harder than Montoya. What he need is a Cruise control button that is activated each 4-5 lap that reduces his pressure on the motor - who cares if that cost 3-4 sec - they are won back in the next laps where he has control

It is possible that Kimi choses a setup for his car that sacrifices reability in favour of speed while Montoya choses the opposite. Maybe KR could gain in reability lossing 0,2 or 0,3 sec per lap, but of course he wouldnt seem so fast compared to Montoya then.

Somehow I don't think it's his setup that makes him fast - I simply thinks he is a better driver. As stated earlier, both Kimi and Montoya had that "wriggeling" that sent Montoya to place 20 - the difference is that Kimi could control it.

Being a better driver also means that the mechanics has to work at top pressure at longer periods and that may be what kills his machinery.

And no, I'm no expert, I just try to get some discussion into this thread wich I think is a little boring

I've tried hard claiming that Trulli is a roadblock, but you jerks just agrees with me

I think that kimi is slighty faster that Montoya too, not so faster how it seems this year. Dont forget Montoya is new at McLaren and he is the second driver, was out along several races due to his ridiculous tennis accident and he has been improving in the last races. And dont forget that de la Rosa and Wurz were at the same pace as Kimi in his respective races.

Something like Renault with Fisi. Alonso is better than Fisi IMO but Fisi is not so bad as seems this year.

Yeah, but isn't that what F1 is all about - who can take 2-3/10 of a sec per lap . Though, I think that Kimi is pretty more faster than Montoya, and he makes less faults - not that he is flawless. His flattening of his tyre wit that awful destruction of his mechanics on the last lap was really bad (where is the nearest ).
