Yeah...okay. I know what you mean now. We have those in Denmark too. But my bank (which BTW is the largest bank in Denmark) doesn't offer that option

Oh well...guess I'll just have to splash for the pre-paid card too.

I played about 2 weeks and just cancelled my subscription. The game is mighty repetitive.

I don't like how there is no risk to anything in the game. You die and nothing bad happens except having to either run to your corpse, or take a temporary stat hit. You should at least be partly lootable.

If it bothers you destroy your best bit of equipment when you die.

That's one reason it works. The game would totally suck if you die and can be looted...you have no idea how often you die in the PvP game.

I don't know... Diablo 2 was just as pointless, or even more so. But Diablo 2 is more fun. . Maybe I'll re-install the game.

Thing is Diss, it's acknowledged that the game kicks in around level 20 or so. If you keep going over the same (or similar if you switch sides etc) early ground you might get more bored. Find something you like and stick with it.

None that I can think of. But I'll go for it anyway, since I have researched this game to death now, and just want to go ahead and play it.

It annoys me that Blizzard have done it this way, but I badly want to play this game now, so if it has to be that way, then so be it.

They probably thought that too.

Hehe, in all seriousness the gamecards are much bigger in America than Europe I think, so it seems more normal to use them I guess.

In shadowbane you could loot everything that wasn't equiped. Worked pretty well.

I've played MMORPG's where you can die and be looted (Ultima Online). Once you take that away the game is so easy. It also makes PVP rather dumb because no matter how many times you kill someone they can just keep coming back fully equiped.

That is probably the main reason why I quit. What's the point of doing the level grind to PVP when there is no reward for PVP?

To make it this way, you'd have to make some changes of course, like making non-magical items much cheaper so it doesn't take a week to get back enough items to compete.

Lose 30 kilos (of popups)

Hummm, well, I was doing research a little bit, and it looks from WoW forums that people with the same laptop as me have severe problems playing the game. Has something to do with nVidia having lousy drivers for mobile video cards and the game looking like ass or not working at all. So I guess I'll have to either skip this one or wait for a patch...

The rewards from PvP come not from looting your opponent equipment, but from the ranking system they put in place. The better your rank, the better special rewards you have access to, including a lot of high-end equipment that no one else can have. It's a tiered system, so really only about 1 in 1000 people on a server may have the highest level of reward, thus making incredibly competative to get that rank.

I've been reading a lot about this. It seems a little odd to me at present. You only get to keep any rewards as long as you keep your rank. Go away on holiday for 3 weeks and come back and you can't use some of your stuff, and your titles are gone. At least if I understand the plans correctly anyway.

Plus, rewarding the top PvPers with the best stuff seems to make it easier for them to keep other players down.

The 'b' equipment was always kept in the bank, of course. The loot rules where mostly good for killing hunting parties or people alone in the wilderness, not for PvP fights where both parties are out looking for it.

But the best thing is that when someone was sieging your city, they need to unequip their primary weapon in order to use a siege hammer. A favorite tactic was to get a good thef to go around their ranks and nick their weapons while they where smashing walls or buildings, sometimes just destroying the stolen weapon on the spot so that there's no chance of them being cought later and the weapons found.

Alot of really awsome weapons have been stolen that way.

actually I have a question. Which class requires the least amount of equipment to be successful? I hate looking for equipment (one of my few gripes about Diablo 2).

One would hope so. However, the probable outcome is collusion amongst the top players and their guild to make sure that doesn't happen.

There is a scheduled downtime every Tuesday morning for maintenance.

This downtime is slightly longer than usual because they're "hotfixing" some server code (server-side patch).

In other news, I got my first armorset piece...Lightforge Spaulders of the Lightforge Armorset.

I'm making a Stratholme and Upper Blackrock Spire run tonight, here's hoping for the helm and breastplate.
