Yeah, Alex, that passes the smell test. Though I will say that ESPN showed the ManU-Milan game here and not the Chelsea-Barca matchup, but that's probably because there are a lot of yuppie glory hunter fans who back ManU because they don't yet know that Chelsea is going to be the uber-club for the next few years.

Kind of interesting that Liverpool and Juventus play in the Champions League next round. It's the first time they've faced off since '85 and the Haysel disaster. Apparently during the first leg there will be a 'commemoration'. Hopefully they don't knock down the walls of Anfield in commemoration of the tragedy .

I am a Spurs fan too.

If you want to know why we keep quiet - come to a game and find out what keeping quiet really means.

We dont have a lot to talk about apart from a promising manager, a promising squad and some occasional results.

Newcastle are right to crow about beating us. They have so little else to crow about. Their joy will be over shortly but at least they will stay up.

They can share their joy with other top class teams to beat us at home this year: Crystal Palace (3-0, so they must be even better than 'Toon) Southampton Portsmouth Aston Villa, oh the quality.

A quick recap of Newcastle's trophies in the last 50 years - er, that's it.

We won the Fairs' Cup in the late 60s. Haven't won the league since the days of Hugh Gallacher though.

But up until about 10 years ago the club was being run into the ground by its former owners. The present lot are scumbags too, but at least they actually spend money bringing players to Tyneside, rather than letting our best players go cheap to poor London sides that never do anything.

Spurs ought to hope that a Russian criminal buys them.

Newcastle dumped out of the Uefa cup 4-2 after being 2-0 up on aggregate - ouch!

Two consecutive league defeats, Bowyer and Dyer forgetting they play on the SAME team and in the bottom half of the table 5 places below Tottscum...

But the biggest insult of all is that they have decided to apply for the Inter Toto cup!!!

And on Sunday I'll take pleasure in watching the Semi Final at the Millennium Stadium as they lose to Manure.

Problem with gloating Aggie, is that it has a bad habit of coming back to bite you on the bum!

Saw a game tonight where Newcastle got soundly thrashed by Lisbon, and they deserved it, they sat on their laurels in the beginning, whilst the Portugese side played an excellent game throughout, the final collapse of Newcastle was spared only by the whistle, or else it might have been 10-1, not 4-1.

God help England in the next World Cup if we continue to buy players from abroad instead of finding future talent on our streets, where the game is played, obvious to all except the manager and owners of the clubs it seems.

I dont think it was particularly wise for Sporting to play such a high defensive line, as Souness said they were set up to defend slow, clumsy Ameobi but instead Dyer played alongside Shearer and pissed all over their defence for speed. On another night Newcastle have 3 before Sporting get out of the blocks.

But we still did the double over them in the league this season so who cares.

That top link has Bolton finishing 4th on current form. Interesting!

And Newcastle are 11 points clear of relegation with 6 games to play, they are safer than Chelsea are likely Premiership winners. They need to pretty much lose every game and have the 6 teams below them win every game.

Theoretically they might be able to go down but I'd bet every penny I have and will ever earn that they stay up.

I'm sure the 'toon will stay up too. 3 of the bottom 4 is most likely, and I think the survivor will be West Brom, who are playing better than the others.

The relegation run-in always has surprise results, like Norwich - ManU, as the teams fighting to survive turn over the teams with nothing to play for.

I didn't expect anything else. The team is a shambles since the Bowyer-Dyer fight.

But then again, Spurs fans can't gloat. At least we're a great club having a bad time rather than a mediocre club being mediocre.
