I was maybe too hasty - If you want to make a change to the danish "grundlov" you have to have majority in the current elected government - make an general election for a new government and if they still accept the original proposition, then a public vote has to accept this with a minimum of 40 % of the total voters. Not that easy either

That's a cop out argument done by AH... it proves nothing. There are plenty of unregistered guns out there and you can't get rid of them all. And the right to bear arms is vital.,

This is a BS argument. OH, lots of guns on the loose, lets get more out there. A simple question : how many guns are produced and how many are destroyed due to criminal activity ?

In a few years after a stop, the amount of illegal weapons will drop drastically and so will gun related crime.

There is a "cool" new handgun (Five-seveN Pistol) manufactured by our Belgian friends, that went on sale to the US last year. This small hangun has the power of a rifle and can penetrate several layers of kevlar, thus defeating body armor. It is as concealable as a handgun yet has the power of a rifle.

California is the only place where it is banned.

Now who in the hell really needs this gun???

quote:

Q: Are there states where this gun and ammunition are already illegal?

A: This gun and its ammunition are not legal to be sold in California under Title 2.6 of the Penal Code, Section 12320, which forbids handgun ammunition designed primarily to penetrate metal or armor.

Its very clear that populations which have less access to guns have less gun deaths. We tightened our gun laws after the Port Arthur massacre and we haven't had a mass killing since. That was like 10 years ago.

The only difference here is bad luck .

No no no no no no no. We have not all made similar mistakes like this. If the kid had done it with a knife, or with scissors, ok; it's understandable that those things would be accessible. But -- and this is the important part -- the only purpose of a gun is to cause bodily harm. You have an object in the house whose sole purpose is to inflict injury or death, and you leave it where a 4-year-old can get it? That is NOT a mistake even remotely similar to ones "we've all made."

She's not evil. But she's an idiot and a bad, bad parent.

This is yet another cop-out. You fail to recognize that the crime rate have skyrocketed in countries that have banned guns (England).

That is complete rubbish. Crime rates are far lower across the Western world than in the US, as are incarceration rates, where the US rate of jailing people compares with the Old Soviet Union. Think about that!

In many countries like Japan violent crime with firearms is almost non existent. Why? Because of gun control.

Compare the US and Canada. They don't have the gun crime the US has.

AND YET ANOTHER BS STATEMENT. You must be following Michael Moore. Though more crimes are committed in the US this is because one thing: There are more people in this country. And secondly, the US is jailing people mainly for crimes unrelated to guns.

In Japan violent crime with knives is a huge problem. Again gun control doesn't solve ****.

You are full of cop outs. Also Canadians have a surprising amount of guns. Again gun control doesn't solve ****.
