Beckham was **** today. Dyer should have started. I can't see why England would play for aerial crosses like Beckham's when they have Rooney and Owen up front.

And Owen was **** too... Shearer is still better than him.

The rest of the team, with the exception of Gary Neville, who should be shot, were great.

About right, except most crosses were chest height at most, as you saw with Rooney's header off the post, and the ones that werent chest height were corners, when Ferdinand and Terry were up there anyway.

Given that on recent past form in the CL, ManU would probably be in the lower end of the seedings anyway, I don't see how this would have helped them?

I particulary liked these last two lines from Gaillard:

You say Beckham was **** but he was running all over, tracking back a lot, his freekicks were troubling their keeper at times, I wouldnt say he had a bad game, thats just all he ever does for us.

Btw, noticed that Ukraine is basically a lock for the World Cup. Is this the first time Ukraine has been to the World Cup? I don't remember them in USA 94, France 98, or Japan/South Korea 02 (though I may be wrong). That would be a great story!
