When I least expected, Aqua called again:
Aqua:
good evening
Ljube:
hello
Ljube:

Ljube:
I must congratulate you on your defence so far. It has ben spirited and you haven't resorted to any drastic measures.
Aqua:
meaning?
Ljube:
No pop rush, at least none I could see, walls everywhere and both attacking stacks circling around your territory in fear of your immortals.
Aqua:
oh, that won't last long I expect
Aqua:
I am sure you guys will attack sooner or later
Aqua:
unless we've convinced you there are other more attractive and less risky targets
Aqua:
such as Babylon
Ljube:
We are always open to such discussions. Personally, I was against this war as I consider DR one of the top powers.
Aqua:
perhaps that is why we are at war
Aqua:
fear!
Ljube:
I was in minority, but my ideas were different.
Ljube:
I thought we could ally with the strong to wipe out the weak.
Ljube:
I saw this as a less risky plan.
Aqua:
it is definitely less risky
Aqua:
take LB and Babs....they are both weak militarily
Aqua:
you could easily take them out without having to circle around their cities looking for a weakness, like you are doing with us
Ljube:
Indeed.
Ljube:
Because in the land of the lost boys and the babylon weakness is everywhere.
Ljube:
I had expected that you would make the first step.
Aqua:
yep
Aqua:
first step of what? War?
Aqua:
you guys attacked before we could
Ljube:
Well, your plans were something we didn't approve of. Attack on Euphorica.
Aqua:
what makes you think that was our plan?
Ljube:
If you had targeted other, weaker civs, the Horde might not have intervened.
Ljube:
Sidon
Ljube:
Outpost Sidon.
Aqua:
mate, you forget easily....euphorica sent an early archer rush to destroy us....they made themselves our enemy. Our plans after that were simply retaliation
Ljube:
This is true, but one must learn to overcome one's emotions if one is to be successful.
Take a look at Germany and France.
Ljube:
They were bitter enemies, making war all teh time.
Aqua:
lol
Aqua:
trust me, it was not emotion
Ljube:
Surely, you could have come to some terms.
Ljube:
I'm a strong advocate of peace, but won't shrink from war if I'm forced into it.
Aqua:
they were our biggest threat. We wanted to weaken them. It was not about emotion
Aqua:
we didn't want them sending more units against us
Aqua:
but then, you decided to poke your nose where it wasn't welcome
Ljube:
Well, if you had worked together and made an agreement on teh division of teh land between you and gave some land perhaps, you could have invaded the Lost Boys and expanded immensly.
Ljube:
The Horde would not have intervened then.
Aqua:
the horde is too arrogant for its own good
Aqua:
but we've already had that discussion
Ljube:
Indeed. And my impression that it is teh DR who is arrogant in fact has not changed.
Ljube:
Always better to give peace a chance, give diplomats a chance.
Aqua:
We are always open to peace discussions
Aqua:
but we will not submit to blackmail or extortion....simple as that
Ljube:
It is indeed a very brave and noble stance that you have adopted. Only time will tell if this pride will bring glory or destruction to your civilisation.
Aqua:
A nation that subjugates itself to another's demands has no pride, and a nation with no pride is no longer a nation
Aqua:
and besides, the Horde is no stronger than us, so what compels us to submit?
Ljube:
Hmm, personally I consider a position of a vassal to be more advantageous than that of the lord.
Ljube:
Everyone targets the top dogs.
Aqua:
You are suggesting we become your Vassal?
Ljube:
Now if you would publically submit, swallow that bitter pill, you would avert the attention of others.
Ljube:
yes, indeed I do.
Ljube:
Nothing shameful in that.
Aqua:
I see. Ok, well not a bad idea. Tell me then, how about the Horde becomes our Vassal instead?
Ljube:

Ljube:
You got to be kidding.
Aqua:
nothing shameful in that
Aqua:
ummm.....no, why would I be?
Aqua:
perhaps there is something that I do not understand?
Ljube:
I wouldn't mind that, but I doubt the Horde would vote in favour of such motion.
Aqua:
aaaaahhhh, I see
Aqua:
you call me arrogant for not submitting to you. What does that make you?
Ljube:
You are in no position to issue such demands. If your army had been close to our cities, I
would have been the most vocal of all in favour of such an arrangement.
Ljube:
That meaks me pragmatic
Aqua:
indeed
Aqua:
and I myself am pragmatic also
Ljube:
Well, if you are then you will surely see the advantage of one such accord in which the DR would serve the Horde.
Aqua:
perhaps we have no need of pragmatism yet
Aqua:
perhaps the horde underestimates our strength?
Ljube:
The Horde has many minds set on planning this war to every meticulous detail. The Horde leaves nothing to chance.
Aqua:
well good luck then
Aqua:
you are clearly wasting my time, since if everything is so well planned, you will not consider peace
Ljube:
On teh contrary. The Horde does not wish a nation to be defeated.
Ljube:
For instance, we took pitty on the AM some senturies ago.
Aqua:
we have offered peace. the rest is up to you
Aqua:
goodnight
He must be desperate. Still proud though.

Follow-up chat with Aqua, still before we played our turn.
Aqua:
I'm back
Ljube:
Great!
Ljube:
Paddy's still not here.
Ljube:
He is online, but doing stuff.
Aqua:
he's out having a swim and cooking dinner
Ljube:
yes
Aqua:
so humour me.....what does being a Vassal of the horde require?
Ljube:
Paying annual tribute, sharing techs, coordinating foreign policy. Giving a few settlers, shall we say 2?
Ljube:
But this is coming from teh perspective of a member who likes the DR. The actual terms might be more lenient, or harsher, it's up to the diplomats to agree.
Ljube:
But in the vicinity of what I just said.
Aqua:
I see
Aqua:
and if our troops were on your doors, would you pay cash tributes per turn, give up 2 settlers and all tech advances?
Ljube:
Of course. We would consider such deal a bargain.
Aqua:
lol
Aqua:
2 settlers?
Aqua:
actually, I think you asked for 3
Aqua:
I presume that's what you extracted from AM?
Ljube:
maybe, I'm not informed about all details of the negotiations
Ljube:
I was expelled from the Foreign Ministry.
Ljube:
Not familiar with all terms of the AM peace either.
Aqua:
I see
Aqua:
but the difference of course is that we have a formidable army
Aqua:
AM didn't
Ljube:
Hmm...
Aqua:
as I said, you would get results a lot quicker by invading babylon or LB
Ljube:
Perhaps, but we are not at war with either of them and had no reason to start one.
Ljube:
You see, the AM were even worse peacebreakers than you were.
Ljube:
Thus they were attacked first. Now we are at peace with them, and at war with you.
Aqua:
excuse me, but we have broken no peace
Ljube:
We don't attack civs that don't provoke us.
Aqua:
Aqua:
the only people who believe your claims of provocation are you own team members
Ljube:
The vote was overwhelming in favour of the dismissal of the Desolator Dave. Obviously most of the horde members considered that unit and its movements as a clear provocation.
Ljube:
I was among those who voted for his dismissal.
Aqua:
as I said, your own team members
Ljube:
In spite of my friendly attitude towards you.
Aqua:
the rest of the world acknowledges the rights of explorers in neutral territory
Ljube:
Once again I urge you to try to negotiate a peace treaty with the Horde and the Bards as a package deal. That deal would bring stability to the region and free your many units to get engaged elsewhere.
Aqua:
We are happy to make peace with you, as soon as you are ready to come to the negotiation table with a reasonable offer
Aqua:
to date your demands have been extortionist and rejected unanimously by the DR Council as impossible to meet
Ljube:
Hmm, if our offical demands are in teh vicinity of what I said they would be, I would consider them moderate. There are some Horde members which would never make any deal with you. Fortunately, they are in minority.
Aqua:
yes, fortunately for both our cis perhaps
Ljube:
I cannot negotiate the actual peace treaty, but I can convey my wish that such a treaty be signed. I don't relish the idea of any team's destruction.
Aqua:
then you are clearly in a minority in your team
Aqua:
for you do not send 20 units to attack if you do not wish another's destruction
Ljube:
I don't consider the force we sent enough to take a single city, let alone destroy you.
Ljube:
It was sent to possibly catch your troops by surprise in Sidon and maybe kill some. But you must agree it's not a stack of doom.
Aqua:
perhaps the reinforcements will be though
Ljube:
The Army Group West?
Aqua:
you wouldn't be talking so tough if you didn't have anothe on the way
Aqua:
whatever you call it
Ljube:
indeed
Aqua:
but they will have the same problem your little expeditionary force has encountered so far
Ljube:
But we hope not to utilise it. Deploying the Army Group West to the DR front would severely hamper our ability to defend against some would be attacker.
Aqua:
indeed
Aqua:
some opportunistic nation
Aqua:
such as yourselves
Ljube:
That's why we insist on peace. We don't wish our two nations to annihilate each other in a bloody war.
Ljube:
Although you would suffer the brunt of the civilian casualties because the war is fought in your land.
Aqua:
We have offered peace
Ljube:
But it is not something our warriors could boast about. Killing women and children.
Aqua:
You have refused it
Aqua:
therefore you do not wish peace
Ljube:
We are an honourable nation and peace must come with proper terms or it will be perceived as defeat by our people.
Aqua:
Same with us
Aqua:
an equal peace is all we will consider. Nothing more, nothing less
Aqua:
Once we consider ourselves stronger than you, we may ask more
Ljube:
Honourable means the conditions of the treaty will be honoured no matter what.
Aqua:
We also honour treaty terms
Ljube:
Hence the name: "Blood Oath Horde"
Aqua:
yet we have been offered nothing acceptable
Aqua:
It would seem that diplomatic discussions with your Horde are a complete waste of time
Ljube:
Well, these are unofficial discussions. Real diplomatic channel is PLATO.
Ljube:
But I'm encouraging you to start real negotiations.
Aqua:
We get the same reaction there
Ljube:
Don't forget to bring something to the table.
Aqua:
Oh, we have attempted real negotiations, but they always come to nought
Aqua:
And pray tell, what will your side bring to the table?
Ljube:
peace, goodwill, benevolence and friendship.
Aqua:
We also bring those things
Aqua:
If you ask us to bring more, then we in turn ask you to bring more
Aqua:
it's pretty simple really
Ljube:
but not very realistic
Ljube:

Aqua:
nor from you
Aqua:
so as I say, a waste of time
Ljube:
The sooner you realise you must give something so that a lasting peace could be signed, the better for all of us, particularly you.
Aqua:
The Horde must come to the realisation that if they want peace with the Desolation Row, it must be an equal peace. If they are not prepared to agree to an equal peace, there shall be no peace, and you must wage your war.
Aqua:
As I keep saying, it is all very simple.
Ljube:
Compare the benefits of a strong bond between the DR and the Horde to the current poor state of affairs.
Aqua:
indeed
Aqua:
it is in your hands
Aqua:
Our people will not live with the shackle of Vassalage about their ankles
Ljube:
One needs little thinking to see that in the near future the fruits of the peace will far outweigh the initial price of that same peace. And that price was indeed brought down by the many efforts of friends of teh DR within teh Horde, such as I am.
Aqua:
The only price we are prepared to pay is death
Ljube:
Yes, but one must think with a clear head. This outburst of emotions shows your resentment. Still a shrewd calculation of pros and cons will show that making peace now is far superior option.
Ljube:
You may yet be forced to make peace at harsher terms. Is that what you wish for?
Aqua:
Again, you underestimate our strength perhaps
Ljube:
Perhaps, or perhaps you are being overconfident.
Aqua:
Making peace may well be your better option also
Aqua:
perhaps we are
Aqua:
and perhaps you are being overconfident
Aqua:
who is to know?
Ljube:
Hmm, but who is to lose more in this war? Your units are not at our doorsteps, ours are at yours.
Aqua:
both of us will lose
Ljube:
Who is therefore to give some more for peace. Not much. Mere token.
Aqua:
for while units kill each other, other nations not at war will gain
Aqua:
Settlers are a huge price
Aqua:
they will not be given. Period!
Aqua fears our Army Group West. His chats with me are his attempt to keep our forces as far as possible from weakly defended Antioch.

Greetings Great Lords of the Three Nations Alliance
Well the years certainly have passed since we first met for the Summit that formed the Three Nation Alliance.
The Three Nation Alliance now stands on the brink of smashing into the enemy - Desolation Row.
Horde Red Guard Operations offer up the following as proposed time lines for cordinated attacks upon DR.
Thank you to all parties for the information that allows for this plan to be put forward.
1300bc
BoH: 20 units move 1, Horse Mjolnir moves 1-2 joins the stack (red lines)
Bards: Bards attack and capture Invictus (yellow line).
Babs: Babs move their 4 horses close to Aquarius (blue line)
DR: (possibly) Their stack moves along the light green line.
1275bc
BOH: 10 horses attack Antioch (dark red line).
Babs: Babs attack lightly defended Aquarius (light blue line).
DR: (possibly) Their stack moves along the even lighter green line. They can't make it to Antioch in time.
We await your replies.
May all be well with you and your mighty Nations.
Paddy

Paddy says:
hello mate
Moonbars says:
morning
Paddy says:
I sent you an email, hopefully expl;aining the Bards war
Moonbars says:
long email
Paddy says:
ok
Moonbars says:
hehe
Moonbars says:
just came in
Moonbars says:
we have about 12 barb horsemen near aquarius
Paddy says:
ok
Paddy says:
ahhhh
Paddy says:
did you not know that
Paddy says:
or these new ones
Moonbars says:
yes
Moonbars says:
but did not know what way they'd go
Paddy says:
indeed
Moonbars says:
also didnt know if you knew
Paddy says:
either babylon or aqua told me
Moonbars says:
hopefully they'll get the redlined bab horseman currently running for his life
Paddy says:
hehehe
Moonbars says:
I think we are gonig to head to Nirvana
Paddy says:
good
Moonbars says:
We would settler a city at Sidon I think, and strike from there
Paddy says:
ok
Moonbars says:
possibly one tile 9 from the ruins, dont know yet
Paddy says:
have your troops healed yet
Paddy says:
my lads are in the road
Moonbars says:
but settling ruins connects us by a road
Moonbars says:
so that's better
Paddy says:
yes
Moonbars says:
this turn the settler would move to antioch
Paddy says:
good
Moonbars says:
next turn, we'd want to move a big stack including the settler onto Sidon ruins
Paddy says:
good
Moonbars says:
your guys be out of the area by then?
Paddy says:
no
Paddy says:
hehehe
Paddy says:
we just out of your lands
Moonbars says:
aye, but if you move the 1 movers onto sidon ruins this turn, you can move them beyond that the turn after?
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Moonbars says:
is that OK?
Paddy says:
sounds feasible
Moonbars says:
k
Moonbars says:
Aqua may want to settle somewhere else I suppose, but that's my preference so we can get into Bards ASAP
Paddy says:
Do you know Aqua gave us an overall operational control of the Bard wars right?
Moonbars says:
no
Paddy says:
ok
Paddy says:
not something we will abuse
Paddy says:
but 1 voice etc
Moonbars says:
k
Paddy says:
in that, we are looking at stepping through this turn by turn
with a good set of averall plans
Moonbars says:
is sidon resettle -> Nirvana ok with you then, supreme commander?
Paddy says:
hahaha
Paddy says:
we mates
Moonbars says:
Paddy says:
this is the part I been hanging for, us working up some great war plans
then doing them
Moonbars says:
lol
Paddy says:
between us we have some great military history
Moonbars says:
if we move from Sidon ruins site 8 8, we have the ability to strike at either U2 or Nirvana. the classic divide strategy
Paddy says:
yes
Moonbars says:
well it's 8 8 8
Moonbars says:
so that's attacking in 6 turns.. that's quite a long time sadly.
Moonbars says:
can't really be any faster though
Moonbars says:
would take 5 turns even if your men where not on the road
Paddy says:
yes
Moonbars says:
so.. after nirvana in 6, where would you like us to go?
Paddy says:
step by step
Paddy says:
not sure
Moonbars says:
I like Beach Boys as a target (you already got furs form Metallica
Moonbars says:
that would mean U2 was a good target for your men
Moonbars says:
if you could mass to threaten U2 in 5/6 turns to co-ordinate with us
Moonbars says:
point of caution: the survivors of the Second Euphorican Invasion are about to reach their road network after limping home across the mountains
Moonbars says:
have to go..
Paddy says:
indeed
Paddy says:
be well mate
Moonbars says:
will be about later on for more chatting
Paddy says:
good
Moonbars says:
*waves*
Paddy says:
oh, did you read the email?
Moonbars says:
yeah read it
Moonbars says:
godo mail
Moonbars says:
good
Paddy says:
ok
Moonbars says:
hey it takes me exactly 15 mins to shower and gel my hair
Moonbars says:
<-- precision
Paddy says:
you use too much gel then
Moonbars says:
lol
Moonbars says:
that's pretty good going if u ask me
Paddy says:
Moonbars says:
we need to talk abotu techs as well
Moonbars says:
but later..
Moonbars says:
going out
Paddy says:
be well
Paddy says:
until later

Good night.
I had a long phone call from Aqua this morning, all is well.
McMeadows has been trying hard to get him to change, even telling DR we were the ones who started the TNA.
I laughed and said we probably did, so what. We are at peace and have the alliance now as requested by DR, and the TNA started a long time ago.
Either way Aqua said he has no reason to change, and right up to the other day McMeadows was stating how DR would die etc.
The is an interesting point, even after McMeadows told us that the Bards are ready to quit the war for a time of growth, McMeadows was still flaming it... all will come out eventually.
As to Aqua posting of SoD's, well Ljube he is of his own team, and I know you like other teams to go your way, yet so to they have their own agendas etc, and in the end his statement should not effect us... he will be playing the save in the coming 7 - 9 hours when he gets home from work.
AM should be fast, although we hope that Babylon will do the Feud deal with them
It will be the Bards that could take forever...

Great Khan
There have been murmurs within the Desolation Row that once again the Horde have managed to keep their main stack out of danger while their allies in the field have charged into harm's way.
I know, I know - this is a preposterous suggestion and of course I do not believe that to be the case, and I would like to be able to assure the skeptics within our ranks that the Horde's stack of at least 12 Horses and maybe 3 or 4 AC that we cannot see (we can only see your slow-mover stack of Swords, Archers and Spears).....will attack Euphorica next turn in force, quite probably at U2. I have assured my people that there is no way that the Great Khan would allow these units to sit safely in the newly captured town of Fort Napster, nor indeed to be diverted towards another theatre of war, while our brave Immortals are about to enter the field of battle and taste Euphorican blood yet again!
So my good friend Khan, I therefore await your confirmation of the immediate battle plans of your Horses and AC.
Aqualung the Desolator
------------------------------------------
You need to know I see this email as an insult
I have rung you many times lately
and now this
you gave operational control of your forces to our general Bongo
then as usual you just charge on
I await your arrival on chat
------------------------------------------
Paddy says:
what?
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
I do not understand your email
Paddy says:
maybe I too tired this day
Paddy says:
been up too many hours
Paddy says:
are you trying to stir a grumpy old bastard up
Paddy says:
hello mate
Paddy says:
you stirrer
Aqua says:
no need to get upset about it
Paddy says:
Paddy says:
GRRRRRRRRRRRRRR
Paddy says:
hahaha
Aqua says:
you of al lpeople know the pressures us leaders operate under, with our minions demanding this and demanding that
Aqua says:
so to the issue
Aqua says:
I have been asked whether we are expected to go into battle yet again while the Horde fast movers do not appear to be....moving?
Aqua says:
lol
Paddy says:
oh give over
Aqua says:
lolololololol
Aqua says:
relax
Paddy says:
I was given operational control of your units, yet each turn need to beg to find out where they are
Aqua says:
actually, we should be coordinating attacks on U2 and Norvana
Paddy says:
and you settled sidon when asked to wait 1 turn
Paddy says:
Paddy says:
yes we should
Aqua says:
you asked me after I had already settled
Aqua says:
as for begging....I've told you clearly they wre heading north....for the last 2 turns now
Aqua says:
and they have
Aqua says:
anyway, moving right along
Paddy says:
I will not go into that
Paddy says:
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
as you say, General Bongo was to vcommand the troops
Aqua says:
I've yet to be commanded!
Paddy says:
hmmmmm
Aqua says:
so anyway...are you gonna tell me that you'll attack U2 next turn?
Paddy says:
bloody customers
Paddy says:
I do not understand how either of us can attack next turn
Paddy says:
may I send you a pic
Aqua says:
that would be nice
Paddy says:
to email or here
Aqua says:
here is fine
Aqua says:
errrr
Aqua says:
email better
Aqua says:
probably got a firewall up
Paddy says:
ok, 1 mo
Paddy says:
email inbound
Paddy says:
should be there now...
Aqua says:
got it
Aqua says:
ah, your stack in Fort Napster.....the fast moverrs can attack
Paddy says:
I understand that your stack has only just arrived at Sidon 8 8
our Blood Forse Horde (formerly Army Group East) Infantry will move 8 this coming turn
and meet up with the Blood Force Horde Cavalry and The Graysvandir Brigade at U2 1
Paddy says:
no use wasting the horse on U2
Paddy says:
ny them selves that is
Paddy says:
so how are you going to attack them this turn?
Aqua says:
ah, but there is a problem
Aqua says:
if you move your stack 1 of U2, they will abandon it next turn
Paddy says:
how do you know
Aqua says:
better to conduct a lightning raid and take the city, then send all your AC and horses there to defend
Aqua says:
what did they do last turn?
Aqua says:
what has McMeadows threatened?
Aqua says:
exactly that!
Paddy says:
they abandoned a town- size 2
Paddy says:
where did he threaten that?
Aqua says:
he's told us we will not take a single city and they will burn them before our immortals can attack
Aqua says:
could have been in chat
Aqua says:
in fact it was
Paddy says:
oh - I havce never heard that one
Aqua says:
chat between him and Moonbars
Paddy says:
ahhh
Aqua says:
I saw the transcript
Paddy says:
well I do not believe our horse can take irt
Aqua says:
but you must have more than 10 there
Aqua says:
even AC
Paddy says:
so
Aqua says:
so they can't have many defenders
Paddy says:
you believe that?
Aqua says:
mate, taking losses is part of battle
Paddy says:
I am not scared
Aqua says:
it makes you heroic, and makes your troops stronger
Aqua says:
how many defenders do you think they have?
Paddy says:
good for you
no use baiting me
Paddy says:
7 - 11
Aqua says:
hmmmm
Aqua says:
why do you think that?
Aqua says:
what intel do you have?
Paddy says:
they had more than that available before we attacked Napster
Aqua says:
did they?
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
just out of position I guess
Paddy says:
???
Aqua says:
all I have heard is the mysterious 5 Swords they wouldn't put into battle
Paddy says:
that was part of what they had in one city
Aqua says:
I see
Aqua says:
you saw more than that in your scan?
Paddy says:
no
Paddy says:
as our units moved through we could see some cities with a unit in them
Aqua says:
ok
Aqua says:
you think thy've moved them all to U2?
Paddy says:
thus 1 + 1 = etc
Paddy says:
I have no idea
Paddy says:
3but we have been teasing them to get them to do that
Paddy says:
I had all our cav sit on the hill Napster 9 and taunt them
Paddy says:
they were clearly seen, and comments were made by bards to blood cell
Aqua says:
ah
Aqua says:
ok
Paddy says:
was the goal so you could manaourve, and the Graysvandir Brigade up noreth could get into position
Aqua says:
ok
Aqua says:
well, they will all die, but perhaps not by our hands
Paddy says:
huh?
Paddy says:
oh yes indeed
Paddy says:
they taking the "strategic" way out - abandon
Paddy says:
sad indeed
Paddy says:
so how are you able to attack them this turn?
Aqua says:
we aren't
Aqua says:
but I thought you are
Aqua says:
but we will need to go into their territory and expose ourselves
Paddy says:
indeed
Aqua says:
I just hope we get a decent battle against these guys before they wimp out
Paddy says:
hahaha
Aqua says:
anyway mate, gotta run....still at work
Paddy says:

Hm, seems to be my bad for failing to command DRs forces
Oh well, need an answer for aqua?
We are sorry that the lack of coordination may have hurt our advance onto the bards.
In particular, our slowmover-stack will not be able to drop by fort napster for upgrades in a reasonable time-frame.
So we simply have to attack with what we got.
Firstly, the horde do *not* have enough fastmovers in or around Fort Napster to take U2 if the entire bard army is hiding there.
That mean we either have to
a) Wait for the slowmovers to join the show
b) Weaken their defences somehow.
Both options require us to stick our neck out.
For option b) to be true, DR has to stick out their neck first, hoping the bards will attack DRs stack, thus weakening the defence in U2.
While this do not sound like a good idea to DR, it has the advantage of you getting more action and giving us the opportunity to actually keep some bard cities.
Option a) just mean that the bards will burn their cities and retreat all the way to the north pole.
EDIT: Work in progress here, hit "post" all to early
EDIT2: Well, ready for comments now

Aqua says:
you there?
Aqua says:
anyway, if you look at the battle reports thread you will see we are already taking the heat from Euphorica. I hope you move your troops into their territory this turn - this is a joint operation and it's not reasonable to expect us to take all the damage
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
as on the map we will move 8
Paddy says:
our northjern brigade will enter
Paddy says:
our southern forces march as discussed
Paddy says:
did you loose a unit?
Paddy says:
I haqve your email
Paddy says:
our troops will march as discussed
Paddy says:
why on earth would you have them march in as two seperate stacks....
Paddy says:
your units are not in bard lands yet
Paddy says:
and ours will b in the same situation tyou are in now
Paddy says:
well you may not be here....
and I have a meeting
I will return
Paddy says:
and I am holding the save until we chat on this
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
are you back yet?
Paddy says:
there is a very simple and easy solution to all this
Paddy says:
please refer to the pic
Paddy says:
this turn we advance 8
you stay still
next turn we advance 8 into bard lands
then you advance 8 into bard lands
this puts us at U2 1
this puts you at U2 6
Paddy says:
this means we attack u2 1st
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
hello mate
Aqua says:
matey
Paddy says:
do you have 5
Aqua says:
5 only, yes
Paddy says:
there is a very simple and easy solution to all this
please refer to the pic
1150bc - this turn
we advance 8
you hold
1125bc - next turn
we advance 8 into bard lands
you advance 8 into bard lands
this puts us at U2 1
this puts you at U2 6
this means we attack u2 1st
Paddy says:
we want bard blood bad
Paddy says:
thus next turn we will both be there
Paddy says:
I am sorry you lost a unit this turn
I do not understand why snoop would sacrifice his 2 horse
Aqua says:
we don't mind losing troops - that is part of battle
Aqua says:
but we don't want to be massacred.....we want him to have 2 fronts at once
Aqua says:
but going back...don't understand why it wouldn't be better for you to move your troops out of Fort Napster to be 4 of U2 this turn
Aqua says:
then we are both there a turn earlier, gives him less time to regroup
Aqua says:
his horses can't heal either
Paddy says:
my infantry needed
Paddy says:
seriously they are needed
Paddy says:
and bards can only get you with cav
Paddy says:
oh wrong hmmm
Paddy says:
this is screwed u[
Paddy says:
p
Paddy says:
if we move troops from ft napster, they will be mainly horse
Paddy says:
as swords being upgraded to med inf this turn
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
well if you think you will be massacred, take a step back
Paddy says:
we will move up
Aqua says:
sorry, had someone with me
Aqua says:
let me read your comments
Paddy says:
then we hold as you move back, then on 3rd turn we both move in
Paddy says:
ok
Aqua says:
no, we don't want to move back
Aqua says:
and they only have a couple of horses I believe
Aqua says:
our guys are safe where they are
Paddy says:
yes, we had them at 2
Aqua says:
would be better with a couple of pikes, but too bad
Paddy says:
so you able to hold 1 turn?
Aqua says:
I guess, though we'd rather move in
Paddy says:
I know
Aqua says:
not sure why you need to upgrade your sowords so soon
Paddy says:
I wish for an extra 6 Ancient Cav
Aqua says:
wouldn't it be better to attack with what you have?
Aqua says:
rather than give them the cvhance to build more?
Aqua says:
a quick win is waht we need
Paddy says:
best they could buiold be 1 more
Aqua says:
do you know where most of there troops are concentrated?
Paddy says:
can only assume - U2
Paddy says:
do you have any new intel
Aqua says:
or Nirvana I guess
Aqua says:
no
Paddy says:
all a guess
Aqua says:
yeh, well they're hardly going to tell us
Aqua says:
how many troops do you estimate they have?
Paddy says:
if you were them, would you have attacked your stack with 2 horse
may be they needed a leader
Paddy says:
I say they have 14 - 17 units
Aqua says:
ok
Aqua says:
that would seem about right I think
Aqua says:
mostly Swords too
Paddy says:
and cats
Aqua says:
yeh
Paddy says:
they had 3
Paddy says:
and archers
Aqua says:
I just feel you are being overly cautious
Aqua says:
a quick attack would kill them
Paddy says:
any new builds could only be archers and spears we assume, as they told us most build queues were in buildings
Aqua says:
hmmm
Aqua says:
true
Aqua says:
what of the Babs or LB?
Aqua says:
any nearby threat?
Paddy says:
I may be being overly c\utious, if so it was an error I made last turn then, not this
Aqua says:
ok
Paddy says:
last two turns I had sent some units out searching our south
Paddy says:
and on the plan of being at U2 1 at 1125 I pulled the Black Watch back in case I found a LB force coming in
they will regroup this turn in Ft Napster
Aqua says:
ok
Paddy says:
I find the whole LB decaration of war on us strange
Paddy says:
was expecting to find quite a force (5 - 9 units) sneaking up the centre
1 warrior
Paddy says:
strange
Aqua says:
you declared on them first, out of game
Paddy says:
no
Paddy says:
not Lost Boys
Aqua says:
oh, I thought you declared on Babs in the thread
Aqua says:
cos they didn't give you Feudalism
Paddy says:
yes Babs, but I thought they were 2 different teams
Paddy says:
Paddy says:
yes we declared on Babs in the threads
Aqua says:
sorry, confused
Aqua says:
were we talking about Babs or LB?
Paddy says:
hehe
Paddy says:
Lost Boys
Paddy says:
I moved units searching for them
Aqua says:
oh yes, LB
Aqua says:
sorry
Paddy says:
I find their declaration of war in game strange
Paddy says:
sorry I missed you last nioght, I took Bec down the harbour for a late night cuppa
Aqua says:
indeed
Aqua says:
sounds nice
Paddy says:
can you see any reason LB would do that, then not attack,
Paddy says:
it was
Aqua says:
a political statement
Paddy says:
nice of them
Aqua says:
trying to put pressure on you by organising an alliance against you
Paddy says:
ok
Aqua says:
unfortunately they chose the 2 weakest teams for allies
Aqua says:
lol
Paddy says:
sad
Aqua says:
not really
Aqua says:
Paddy says:
why sop?
Paddy says:
so?
Aqua says:
not sad for us
Paddy says:
yes well said
Paddy says:
well mate I am sorry I stuff up in unit moves,
Paddy says:
mainly in not having time to chat with you on all this lately
Aqua says:
well anyway, if that's your final word on the strategy, I guess we will sit tight and fortify for a turn
Paddy says:
thank you
Aqua says:
we don't wnt to barge ahead and take huge losses
Paddy says:
do you really think they will abandon U2?
Aqua says:
wouldn't do either of us any good
Aqua says:
I am sure of it
Aqua says:
both U2 and Nirvana
Paddy says:
I do not want that for your troops either
Aqua says:
they will know then they have lost
Paddy says:
wow - that is sad
Paddy says:
sore losers in some ways
Paddy says:
good for us
Aqua says:
well, solid strategy to abandon and fall back to towns that can be defended
Paddy says:
sad for the game
Aqua says:
we effectively did that with Sidon
Paddy says:
you did not abandon it
Paddy says:
yes you may have moved back, but you stood as well
Aqua says:
no, we hedged our bets and left a single spear hoping you would not attack, but also rushed walls specifically so that the pop was down to 1 and you couldn't capture it
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
effectively, we abandoned it so we could move our troops back to Antioch and defend it properly
Paddy says:
hahaa
Aqua says:
if the pop had been 3 instead of 2, chances are we would have abandoned it
Paddy says:
ahhhh
Paddy says:
well the Bards will be facing over 40 units
Aqua says:
40?
Aqua says:
we have only 10
Aqua says:
you have 30?
Paddy says:
we are all the rest
Aqua says:
well then I go back to what I said.....why can't you enter this turn with say 15?
Paddy says:
11 imortals, 4 cats, 1 jhorse
Aqua says:
that will be plenty
Aqua says:
30 is overkill!
Paddy says:
where are they
Aqua says:
we only have 10 immortals left - lsot an elite this turn
Aqua says:
another elite seriously wounded
Paddy says:
and the cats
Aqua says:
yes, the cats
Paddy says:
2 spears
Paddy says:
and yul brynner
Aqua says:
ah yes, good ol' Yul
Aqua says:
one of the last of the Magnificent Seven
Paddy says:
so you have 16 good units then
Paddy says:
not 10
Aqua says:
only 10 attack units
Aqua says:
10 Immortals
Paddy says:
good
Aqua says:
anyway, as I said.....if you moved 15 in now, we would still overwhelm then
Aqua says:
you could start moving the resst towards the Babs
Paddy says:
as discussed above, I cannot
Aqua says:
ok then
Paddy says:
had sent some searching for Lost Boys
Paddy says:
they will be there for the war now
Paddy says:
as no lost boys
Aqua says:
ok
Aqua says:
you playing the turn soon?
Paddy says:
yes as soon as we finish
Aqua says:
cool
Paddy says:
was holding it for this chat
Aqua says:
can you send me the map again so I can see the lie of the land?
Aqua says:
after your turn
Paddy says:
not this turn
Aqua says:
oh
Paddy says:
use previous pic, and see infantry up 1
Aqua says:
any reason?
Paddy says:
time
Paddy says:
effort 3
Aqua says:
ok np
Paddy says:
do you ever do them
Aqua says:
not as detailed as that
Paddy says:
ok
Aqua says:
only for my teammates so they can see what I've done
Paddy says:
I may do one tomorrow etc, we will see
Aqua says:
ok
Aqua says:
hey, gotta run
Paddy says:
be well
Aqua says:
good luck wit hthe turn mate
Paddy says:
thank you
Aqua says:
cheers
Paddy says:
bye

Paddy says:
and welcome back
Aqua says:
you played the turn?
Paddy says:
almost finished
Paddy says:
had some work phone calls
Aqua says:
I have looked again and remain concerned
Paddy says:
1pm - and peope think I art work
Aqua says:
if we fortify in position, their main force of Swords can attack us
Aqua says:
if we step back, we will lose too many turns
Aqua says:
frustrating
Paddy says:
yes.
Aqua says:
can't you delay your upgrade by a couple of turns and go with the swords you have?
Aqua says:
that slowmover stack will be in Fort Npaster soon to upgrade anyway
Paddy says:
they not going to ft napster
Paddy says:
they going 8 to war
Aqua says:
oh
Paddy says:
they are my main attack force
Paddy says:
huh
Aqua says:
how many units you have in Ft Npaster?
Paddy says:
a few
Aqua says:
at elast 10
Paddy says:
have moved several on to hill of iron
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
hmmm
Aqua says:
how many swords do you reckon they have?
Paddy says:
4
Paddy says:
sorry 5
Aqua says:
come now....I guess 10
Paddy says:
and what ever survived the attack over the mountains
Aqua says:
they had 3 left over from Mt Massacre
Paddy says:
they only had 5
Paddy says:
8 then
Aqua says:
you can strike U2 from FN next turn, right?
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
with how many Horse/AC?
Paddy says:
15
Paddy says:
13
Aqua says:
how many of those are AC?
Paddy says:
2
Aqua says:
hmmm
Aqua says:
oh, you hazve some AC up north I think
Paddy says:
so to move them forward now they all die
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
well you do have 2-defence units in FN - Swords, Spears
Aqua says:
anyway
Paddy says:
no spears
Paddy says:
you can clearly see our infantry
Aqua says:
we'r etrying to decide what to do next trun
Paddy says:
I trying to play this turn
Aqua says:
lol
Aqua says:
if we move north, we may get slaughtered
Paddy says:
fort where you are
Aqua says:
if we stay put, we may get slaughtered
Aqua says:
if we retreat, we lose too much time
Paddy says:
if they attack you they will be charged by my cav
Aqua says:
they can attack our fortified stack this turn
Aqua says:
they have probably brought up all Swords to do that
Paddy says:
well you have the option of leaviung
Aqua says:
indeed
Aqua says:
but we don't want to
Paddy says:
or move 6 into the forest
Aqua says:
that is certainly an option
Aqua says:
takes away the option of assisting you to attack U2
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Aqua says:
but I don't think you'll need the assistance
Paddy says:
and you have the cats
Paddy says:
they have walls
Paddy says:
we have no cats
Paddy says:
depends what they do
Aqua says:
true
Paddy says:
if you go 6, and we continue to move on U2, then I do expect both abandoned
Paddy says:
or gifted to Lost boys
well ones close to you as you not at war with your tech partner
Aqua says:
if they gift to lost boys we will probably attack it anyway
Paddy says:
hahaha
Aqua says:
but I never said that
Paddy says:
poor old 1889
Paddy says:
hehe
Aqua says:
gotta go mate
Aqua says:
thanks for the chat
Aqua says:
I think Forest is the best option
Paddy says:
if they willing to abandon, then they may be willing to give away
Paddy says:
bye
Aqua says:
not as good as fortifying, but brings us withink strike range
Paddy says:
yes
Aqua says:
bye

I just have been - snakes I tell ya
and just had this chat with the Desolator
Aqua says:
mate
Paddy says:
hello Birthday boy
Paddy says:
how did your eod turn go
Paddy says:
which way did your stack go?
Aqua says:
moved to the forest
Aqua says:
McMEadows is threatening to destroy half our stack
Paddy says:
any units in nirvana that you could see
Paddy says:
is he just
Aqua says:
Spearman
Paddy says:
he is so brave
Aqua says:
yeh
Aqua says:
I offered him peace in return for Nirvana and Beach Boys....the fool rejected it
Aqua says:
said he would rather burn the cities
Paddy says:
hahaha
Paddy says:
oh really
Aqua says:
then again, I wold reject it too
Paddy says:
what of the city east of Beach boys
Aqua says:
is there one?
Aqua says:
nope, don't think there is
Paddy says:
I have it in my notes from when we allies that they said they had one
Paddy says:
oh
Aqua says:
they only have 5 cities left
Aqua says:
just checked
Aqua says:
they are virtually wiped out already, from burning their own cities
Paddy says:
they are so strange
Aqua says:
anyway, I'm off to bed mate
Aqua says:
have a great night!
Aqua says:
oh, need to tell you.....
Aqua says:
made peace with the Babs
Aqua says:
silly OPD offered us 75g....
Aqua says:
and Monarchy
Paddy says:
opd?
Aqua says:
and since we aren't going to attack them any time soon, took the money for peace
Aqua says:
no big deal
Aqua says:
we can attack them later anyway
Aqua says:
sorry, ET
Paddy says:
peace?
Paddy says:
oh...
Paddy says:
shame, they loose war wariness
Aqua says:
cost us some war happiness, but no big deal
Aqua says:
no, they are in Monarchy, so don't get war weariness
Paddy says:
oh ok
Aqua says:
so if others make a big deal out of our peace with them, don't pay any attention...it was all about the money!
Paddy says:
hahaa
Paddy says:
ok
Aqua says:
we still want to kill them!
Aqua says:
just not yet
Paddy says:
ok
Paddy says:
be well
Aqua says:
goodnight
Paddy says:
bye
