Ljube says:
good
Bongo says:
Hi paddy, I think I got an alternative strategy for sidon
Ljube says:
teh pic, me?
Bongo says:
the one in the thread
Ljube says:
paddy's not there at the moment
Ljube says:
but I invited him
Bongo says:
oh
Ljube says:
he said he went out to a store
Bongo says:
not used to msn yet
Ljube says:
Bongo says:
point 1, the bards should road the tile 3 of U2
Bongo says:
they should then move their entire army to 33 of U2, *and* they need to bring enough workers to build a road in one turn
Ljube says:
yes, but the problem is we can't coordinate with them
Ljube says:
they don't listen
Bongo says:
hmm, too bad, this one is good
Bongo says:
That tile will probably be within sidons killzone so they should bring as many defenders as possible
Ljube says:
ah
Ljube says:
that's very good
Bongo says:
from there it is 2 alternatives. 1: DR attacks all out or 2R does nothing
Bongo says:
1: If they do, the bards should complete the road( I doubt DR has enough units to take out all of the bard army) and attack DR with all units that can leave that tile afterwards
Bongo says:
ARggh.
Bongo says:
forget that
Ljube says:
paddy, welcome back
Bongo says:
my plan depended on us taking the bard worker and then attacking DR over the newly built road
Bongo says:
tha's only possible if we sit on roads *outside* bard territory
Bongo says:
*sigh* we need many roads...
Bongo says:
well, my plan will still work, sort of, but we can only attack DR with horses. Our swords etc will have to protect our fastmovers
Ljube says:
hece my insistance on our expedition regardless of roads
Ljube says:
hence
Ljube says:
yes, our slow movers protect the fastmovers
Bongo says:
roads are importan, gives the defender quite some advantage
Ljube says:
yes, but I doubt there are any roads
Bongo says:
I think it is
Ljube says:
only one is confirmed, road 7 from Sidon
Bongo says:
7...hmm..not good, how about 8,?
Ljube says:
Also confirmed is the sighting of Samson and hercul in retreat (two vet immortals that used to protect the worker building road 7 from sidon)
Ljube says:
7 is the only road I'm sure of
Bongo says:
8 is plausible thoug
Ljube says:
yes
Ljube says:
but not when they moved the protecting units back
Bongo says:
the roads around sidon makes us mis the important first strike with fastmovers
Ljube says:
Yes, but we will know easily about the existence of a road 8 of Sidon without putting in danger any of our units
Ljube says:
Faithfuls will first scout the bard interior moving 6-6-6, then will return to the position 6 from U2
Ljube says:
from there, they will be able to move 2 and then 8 thus scouting for roads 8 from Sidon
Bongo says:
yeah, sounds good
Ljube says:
and the DR won't even know we scouted them
Bongo says:
no...
Ljube says:
unless there is a worker there finishing road in which case we will probably execute him
Bongo says:
Ljube says:
Ljube says:
Why do you think Sidon is defended at all?
Ljube says:
I would never defend such outpost and risk losing a city like Antioch.
Bongo says:
Aren't they connected with roads?
Ljube says:
yes
Bongo says:
antioch is of course a much more important city in its own right but at sidon DR can strike and fall back to antioch to heal
Ljube says:
what if Antioch itself is attacked by stron force?
Bongo says:
DR strike us/bards at sidon, abandon city, fall back to antioch and is fully healed when we reach antioch
Ljube says:
can they risk their main force being cut off in Sidon?
Bongo says:
Not smart to attack antioch directly unless we can cover sidon in some way
Bongo says:
the porximity suggest they can move freely between the two cities. Personally I would station my counterattack-force 23 of sidon so I could attack out of both cities with my immportals
Ljube says:
I think aqua cannot reasonably hope to defend against both threats. The bard stack is 3 from inner sanctum (maybe 2 now) and invictus. Would you really keep many immortals in sidon if you were facing the loss of main cities?
Ljube says:
Isn't it best to abandon Sidon altogether and try to defend antioch insted.
Ljube says:
By the way, there is no road at 2-3 from sidon.
Bongo says:
inner sanctum is that their capital?
Ljube says:
Sidon was an attempt at invasion against the Bards, not a defensive outpost I think.
Ljube says:
yes
Bongo says:
in that case sidon may be empty, or close to empty
Bongo says:
we should still approach with caution
Ljube says:
sorry, 2 from invictus, and 3 from inner sanctum is the bard force
Ljube says:
of 4 from inner sanctum
Ljube says:
I don't know their approach route
Ljube says:
they aren't sharing details with us
Bongo says:
up in the hills then?
Ljube says:
or teh mountains
Bongo says:
why not btw? game rules?
Ljube says:
no, they keep secrets
Bongo says:
silly,
Ljube says:
I think they are probaly on that golden hill
Ljube says:
7-8 from invictus
Ljube says:
that's where I would be
Bongo says:
me too
Ljube says:
It seems invictus is doomed unless aqua pulls immortals out of sidon
Ljube says:
to get there in time to defend invictus, he would have needed to withdraw his immortals last turn
Ljube says:
or else bye bye invictus
Ljube says:
so he probably rushed there
Bongo says:
yeah, have the bard been spotted?
Ljube says:
yes
Ljube says:
last turn
Bongo says:
well, they must been now, the question is when
Bongo says:
Bongo says:
well, we should move to sidon asap then?
Ljube says:
yes
Bongo says:
the bard stack by invictus slipped my attention
Ljube says:
so, we can have our units attacking Sidon on turn 1400 BC
Ljube says:
that's 5 turns from now
Ljube says:
is it too late?
Ljube says:
time is of the essence here
Ljube says:
we must strike before aqua can bring his immortals back
Bongo says:
I'd say we can move right away
Ljube says:
with our little forces we have?
Bongo says:
this turn is over right?
Ljube says:
yes
Bongo says:
we can have 3 spears, 2 sword and 3 horses 88 of sidon next turn then
Bongo says:
if it is undefended the horses will be enough
Ljube says:
yes, but only 3 horses
Ljube says:
what if it's defended with horses?
Ljube says:
and spears
Bongo says:
One spear will be there for certain, to camoflauge any lack of defence
Ljube says:
yes
Ljube says:
and how many horses?
Ljube says:
maybe more spears?
Bongo says:
hmm, tricky, I think most horses will be at home to counter the invasion
Ljube says:
If we wait another turn we can have 2 horses more
Ljube says:
and if we wait 2 turns as initially suggested by me, we can have 8 horses, 6 swords, 3 spears and 2 archers
Bongo says:
more than enough but we then face the problem of returning units
Ljube says:
yes
Ljube says:
we're a bit slow
Ljube says:
but bards can stall the DR
Ljube says:
by circling around
Ljube says:
keeping their units in check
Bongo says:
of course, 1 turn will help alot
Ljube says:
yes
Bongo says:
problem is, stalling might put them to risk versus immortals
Ljube says:
If you want that we attack asap, we would need to investigate that city
Ljube says:
We can ask A-M to investigate the city. We will pay for it.
Bongo says:
yeah, we got enough money
Ljube says:
an investigation of Antioch wouldn't hurt either
Ljube says:
but it's pretty expensive to do all of that
Ljube says:
I prefer to wait and keep the money for keshik upgrades
Bongo says:
hehe, it will cost us, but units are expensive too
Ljube says:
yes, but upgrades is what we need
Bongo says:
they are still some time aheadaren't they?
Ljube says:
yes, but we won't have the option to save money in teh future
Ljube says:
we would have to reserach
Bongo says:
personally I put a high price on good intelligence
Ljube says:
hmm, hmm
Ljube says:
I put higher price on unit upgrades
Ljube says:
Bongo says:
hehe
Bongo says:
what's the bard invasion force look like?
Ljube says:
just a moment
Ljube says:
10 vet swords
Ljube says:
4 vet spears
Bongo says:
hmm, not bad
Ljube says:
1 vet horse
Ljube says:
1 elite horse
Ljube says:
very good
Bongo says:
if they stick to mountains they will do good
Ljube says:
terrifying
Ljube says:
aqua must have moved all of his immortals back
Ljube says:
some of them he left in antioch no doubt
Ljube says:
but probably only one or two
Ljube says:
so, when we position our main army: 6 swords, 3 spears, 2 archers, 8 horses on position 8-8 from Sidon on turn 1425 BC
Ljube says:
we can attack on turn 1400 BC with 8 horses, 3 of them elite
Ljube says:
he can't possibly defend from that
Bongo says:
that's 4 turns from now?
Ljube says:
next turn is 1525
Ljube says:
then 1500
Ljube says:
then 1475
Ljube says:
then 1450
Ljube says:
then 1425
Ljube says:
It's better I redo the calculation.
Bongo says:
look good anyhow
Ljube says:
But the key thing is arrival of taskforce Bloodshaft to the Battle Rendezvous Point
Ljube says:
it will happen on turn 1500 BC
Ljube says:
Then all units move 6 (just 6 to avoid being spotted).
Ljube says:
That's 1475 turn.
Bongo says:
We can probably strike 1425bc already then?
Ljube says:
Then all units move to 8-8 from Sidon on 1450 BC
Ljube says:
We can strike with horses only on 1425 BC
Ljube says:
yes
Bongo says:
but with..8? hores? or was it 6?
Bongo says:
horses
Ljube says:
we can build another horse in KBH on 1500 BC
Ljube says:
that's 7
Bongo says:
great
Ljube says:
and we can build anotehr horse in bloodview on 1475 (pop rush)
Ljube says:
that's 8
Bongo says:
nah, no need to poprush at the moment I think
Ljube says:
better pop rush
Bongo says:
we hit with 7 horses 1425, then with swords 1400
Bongo says:
should do the trick
Ljube says:
we have nothing to lose if we pop rush, bloodview is not very productive anyway
Bongo says:
didn't we poprush there already? Or has the effect disappeared?
Ljube says:
and when teh first rider of apocalypse becomes available?
Ljube says:
we pop rushed in there, but teh effects disappeared
Ljube says:
time to pop rush again
Bongo says:
yeah, it last 20 turns
Ljube says:
yeah
Ljube says:
I don't like to pop rush too much, but from time to time it's healthy
Ljube says:
Ljube says:
are you still against pop rush?
Ljube says:
even if it will net anotehr horse?
Bongo says:
it's okay then
Ljube says:
Bongo says:
I try to be restrictive but as you said, sometimes it's ok
Ljube says:
There are players who would never pop rush. They aren't very successful in PBEMs.
Ljube says:
Recently I eliminated one such player in 1600 BC using an archer rush.
Ljube says:
I think aqua will start pop rushing now.
Ljube says:
I'll check his cities, load the saves from last few turns to see if he pop rushed.
Bongo says:
Ok, got work to do, even if it's friday
Bongo says:
see ya later
Ljube says:
OK, we'll talk again during the weekend.
Ljube says:
Ljube has left the conversation.

McMeadows says:
Matey... G'day
Paddy says:
hello
McMeadows says:
We arrived at spot X
Paddy says:
thank you for the pic of yours and the DR Stack
awesome
we will have an extra horse now, so 9
along with swords archers and spears
McMeadows says:
What is the plan of war?
Paddy says:
1425bc we hit Sidon
from Bongo on your pic:
Interesting, they sent a regular spear to protect vet immortals, which mean *all* immortals will be targeted before he do
McMeadows says:
how manyturns is that?
Paddy says:
will check
4
this was 1525
McMeadows says:
ahhh... So we'll have to keep them busy a few more turns
no delays requirred at all
Paddy says:
ok
McMeadows says:
we're there
spot X
we just can't attack...
too many losses
Paddy says:
indeed
McMeadows says:
however, it means Sidon must be weakly defended
Paddy says:
maybe
maybe
McMeadows says:
but we've been over that a few times
Paddy says:
they could have a few pop rushed units moved up
McMeadows says:
no way matey.. it just can't be any other way
Paddy says:
we believe that it will be weakly defended
but have taken all sorts of protection
McMeadows says:
pop rushed? should have shown in the F3
Paddy says:
maybe
aqua and crew are well trained
McMeadows says:
they're average to us for the last several turns
Paddy says:
yes
they would need a mass of units for that to really change now
anyway, we may jump Sidon with our Horse Regiments.... a decision we are looking at
either way it will piss DR off
so what do your lads do then
McMeadows says:
As long as we keep their forces in our face, we'll be laughing while BOH is mopping them cities up
Paddy says:
matey, when were we going to hear of that
am I missing something here
McMeadows says:
Sidon-Antioch... isn't that discussed long before?
Paddy says:
yes
but what then
McMeadows says:
that's what I mean
Paddy says:
ahh ok
Paddy says:
so when will your forces attack
they are more than 2 cities
McMeadows says:
We're not going to attack a stack of immortals on a mountain
when you're mopping,.. they HAVE to make a move
if they move forces, we move in
Paddy says:
Only 5 immortals
just asking
as our defensive force is now THE attacking force
I like the strategy ok
McMeadows says:
curious for what?
us going suiicidal?
Paddy says:
what over all plan is
McMeadows says:
DR of the map
Paddy says:
suicidal, no.
Paddy says:
but we came rushing to play defenders
McMeadows says:
Which worked very well
Paddy says:
if we had known this was to be the MAIN battle front the war would wait a few turns for several other units.
McMeadows says:
first concern matey.. not more than that
isn't that what you are now doing?
Paddy says:
no
we are reacting to Bards requirements
McMeadows says:
We needed our lands to be secured, while we moved out and threaten DR in the EAST
Paddy says:
thus why we came
McMeadows says:
While you secured our lands for a possible counterattack
and prepared for moving in on the WEST
Paddy says:
but we are not doing that
McMeadows says:
Sidon is in the WEST..
Paddy says:
we are now gathering to attack DR city of Sidon
McMeadows says:
= WEST
Paddy says:
yet that changes what we set out to do
McMeadows says:
I wouldn't be suprised if the city of Sidon was empty
Paddy says:
thus why we are asking for yet more detail
so to it could be fortified and have walls
McMeadows says:
I haven't told you anything new... I have said this several times before... really
no new strategy, no secrets
Paddy says:
no secrets I understand
and yes we have chatterred
yet I am still not clear thus why I come back time and again
McMeadows says:
On what? We had to anticipate the chance DR would make a swift move on our cities while we were moving out...
Paddy says:
I am not critising, asking for further clarifications
yes indeed
and we are there if they do
McMeadows says:
If are able toc attack Invictus we will
Paddy says:
so to clarify then, your stack will now wait in the mountains until we have taken Sidon and possibly Antioch?
McMeadows says:
We're now looking into what's best to do
We might move further west, threaten the seaside city
polarize their forces even more
we also might move to the hills, to be close to both Invictus and Inner Sanctum
Paddy says:
The Horde hopes that the Bards will consider sending us a map of your plans at that stage.
McMeadows says:
give your (BOH) thoughts
will get you 1...
Paddy says:
BoH RGO would be happy to assist, yet we know the thoughts of Snoopy on that
our main thing is in knowing what you are doing, allows us greater understanding in what we are doing
alliance
McMeadows says:
Snoopy - in my opinion he was out of line
our plans - been repeating myself, no secrets, no changes so far - we made it to spot X: time for reevaluation
Paddy says:
thanks,
Horde curious for future is all
McMeadows says:
I'm busy getting you some furs..
Ideas from the Red Guard will be welcome for further coordination
Paddy says:
ok
McMeadows says:
I'm thinking to go 3622
But just going 1 is an option as well. I just don't know the odds on losses from an attack from DR on that
camping where we are is an option as well
just going 1 is suppossed to be 12
maybe we can arrange a meeting between a few of your generals and a few of us?
Paddy says:
RGO will love these insights
McMeadows says:
Main plan is to keep DR busy in EAST now that they have moved a considerable force towards us there, while you now have a good chance on moving in in the WEST.
Details can be discussed in a meeting of generals
Paddy says:
indeed

DR have a ****ing stack of Immortals
Krill says:
4 reg, 5 vet,
Paddy says:
hehehe
Krill says:
1 reg spear
Krill says:
2 vet spears
Paddy says:
really
Krill says:
3 workers and a cat.
Krill says:
and they are all forted and on a mountain.
Paddy says:
ouch
Krill says:
versus 10 vet Euphorican swords, 2, one vet, one elite horses , and 4 vet spears.
Paddy says:
15 DR units
Paddy says:
wow
Krill says:
I'm not certain, but I think I know why the tech rate is so slow.
Paddy says:
war will be vicious
Krill says:
everyone is mass upgrading...
Krill says:
oh, wait, I don't have to upgrade swords just yet
Krill says:
I was talking to Aqua earlier, trying to get on his good side.
Paddy says:
hehehe
Krill says:
and he told me that next turn would be the big battle. Know I now why...

PLATO

|
 |
Of the occupied South
Dec 2002 time: 23:22
|
|
The Desolator finally made contact:
Aqua says:
Good evening ambassador
Plato says:
Greetings Great Lord Aqua
Aqua says:
ah, so the Lord Aqua is great now is he?
Aqua says:
seems like a change of heart
Plato says:
indeed, the Horde has always recognized that the leader of a civilization is "great"
Plato says:
or perhaps you would prefer another term?
Aqua says:
you are indeed a diplomat
Aqua says:
Paddy chose well
Aqua says:
well it's about time we had a serious chat I believe
Plato says:
Hmmm....while it is nice to be recognized, I doubt that it is my great experience that caused this. Perhaps my meager knowledge of demogames made him think I could do no damage? BTW, may I record this to prove to the Horde that I actually am on the job?
Aqua says:
you may indeed
Aqua says:
so what diplomatic tidings do you bring to the Desolation Row, who finds themselves you enemy through no fault of their own?
Plato says:
well, I must take exception to the "no fault" statement and you contacted me. It appears that we have become at odds through a lack of fair dealing on your governments part. Perhaps you would like to clarify that?
Aqua says:
perhaps you should clarify the exact nature of the charge.....since we know of no unfair dealings on our part
Plato says:
very well...although this had been e-mailed to you. 1.) In the early game you threatened to destroy our scout in international territory if he "got in your way" and mandated a movement path for him
Aqua says:
my Foreign Minster Moonbars has logged on and I will add him to the conversation with your permission
Plato says:
2.)During our initial discussions you offered extremely one sided trade
Plato says:
yes, please add him
Aqua says:
that was merely a beginning bargaining position
Moonbars has been added to the conversation.
Plato says:
3.) Your warrior continued to wonder through a war zone while repeated contacts from the Khan warned him off
Aqua says:
Welcome Lord Foreign Minister Moonbars
Plato says:
Greetings Lord Moonbars
Moonbars says:
hello
Moonbars says:
a simple 'Sir' will suffice ;-D
Aqua says:
lol
Aqua says:
Plato is the Horde Ambassador to us
Plato says:
hehe
Aqua says:
and is charging us with unfair dealings, precipitating their attack on our Warrior
Moonbars says:
hum, come to explain where our warrior ended up has he?
Plato says:
Would you like a moment to catch Sir Moonbars up, Lord Aqua?
Aqua says:
on the Khan's dinner plate, no doubt
Aqua says:
Moonbars understands the treachery that befell us
Plato says:
it is good to have an understanding of ones own mistakes
Aqua says:
glad you can finally admit it then
Plato says:
The great Khan has appeared. May I add him as well?
Aqua says:
let the party continue!
Plato says:
We have long been able to admit your mistakes Lord Aqua.
Plato says:
It is sad that you cannot
Aqua says:
ah see, that is why we have a Foreign Minister
Plato says:
This is why we are at odds now
Aqua says:
for I am not the best at this diplomacy stuff
Plato says:
May I add the Khan?
Paddy has been added to the conversation.
Moonbars says:
aye why not
Aqua says:
Welcome Great Khan
Paddy says:
hello all
Moonbars says:
hello
Plato says:
Greetings my Lord, The Great and Noble Khan of the Blood Oath Horde!!!!!
Paddy says:
ahhh the Scot on the Moon
Aqua says:
lol
Plato says:
Please be advised that Moonbars wishes to be addressed as Sir Moonbars and not Lord Moonbars...an interesting self demotion I must say...and perhaps an acknowledgement of diplomatic failure???
Moonbars says:
how are things in the horde?
Plato says:
The Horde be strong and well...as always
Aqua says:
oh dear, that is not good diplomacy old chap
Paddy says:
Aqua says:
I thought you guys wished to sort out our differences
Plato says:
hehe...it is indeed not, perhaps a reason to upgrade relations should be offered?
Moonbars says:
paddy can call me "The Maurading Mayan"
Paddy says:
Plato says:
haha...very good
Moonbars says:
and i'll call him "The Clatty Celt"
Paddy says:
"The Maurading Mayan"
Aqua says:
I may call you something different.....Irreverant Iroquois springs to mind
Moonbars says:
Paddy says:
"The Clatty Celt"
Paddy says:
Plato says:
haha
Moonbars says:
so what is it we are supposed to have done that justified the murder of our scout?
Aqua says:
good question brother
Moonbars says:
I am assuming it must have been grave, to warrant the deaths of the scouting party
Plato says:
Hmmm....Lord Aqua...could you copy your esteemed maurading mayan, Sir Lord Moonbars on the above information I transmitted?
Aqua says:
perhaps you should tell him yourself....it might make more sense the second time
Moonbars says:
worried that whatever it was you invited the first time might have slipped your mind this time round?
Moonbars says:
er, that's "invented"
Plato says:
As previously stated, he had been warned out of a war zone several times...Lord aqua had agreed and not performed the agreed upon actions. It was apparent that he was eithier aggressive or more likely...a spy...in short, to use your terms "he got in the way"
Aqua says:
oh, that was not the first story Plato
Aqua says:
let me paraphrase what you said then....
Plato says:
Really?
Plato says:
Plato says:
3.) Your warrior continued to wonder through a war zone while repeated contacts from the Khan warned him off
Plato says:
Perhaps you will enlighten me on the differences then?
Aqua says:
apparently (though I do not remember this), we demanded your scout stop exploring near our territory.......you cleasrly refused.....we did not react and did not attempt to kill him. Then when our Warrior explored near your lands and you asked him not to....you killed him
Aqua says:
so....let me get this straight.....the mere fact that we asked your scout to go away (apparently), gives you the right to kill our Warrior
Aqua says:
oh yes, and we proposed a one sided trade deal (in your opinion), which of course is also plenty of justification for killing our warrior
Plato says:
That is only one component of course...certainly not a "mere" fact eithier
Plato says:
again...Lord aqua...one component, but you do begin to build the full picture.
Aqua says:
as for the war zone.....our Warrior never got in the way....and when he was actually killed, he was about 6 or 7 tiles away from what could possibly be construed as a war zone, being to the northwest of you at the time, when AM are southwest
Aqua says:
so......your argument is not making a lot of sense at the moment
Aqua says:
but perhaps I should ask our Foreign Minster for his views
Plato says:
Lord Aqua, we do not tolerate spies when we are at war. Had you moved as you had agreed to, you would have removed this problem
Aqua says:
Our warrior was not spying.
Plato says:
And we were to tell that how? If you had moved as agreed then you would have removed this question
Aqua says:
it seems we remain further apart in our perceptions than I first thought
Aqua says:
indeed your leader the Great Khan expressed dismay and concern that the Horde had voted to kill our Warrior
Plato says:
Perhaps it is good that we finally speak then. How do you envision our relationship from this point?
You are having temporary network problems and are no longer in this conversation.
Moonbars says:
welcome back
Plato says:
Ahh thank you...my apologies for my inferior equipment
Aqua says:
keep it clean please, this is a family channel
Moonbars says:
haha
Plato says:
haha
Paddy says:
Paddy says:
Rich coming from the Desolator
Paddy says:
hee
Plato says:
It is good that we finally talk. How do you see the future of this relationship between our two nations?
Moonbars says:
Moonbars says:
Aqua says:
without even a statement of regret on your part, it's hard to see a future
Paddy says:
wnow that is too much information
Aqua says:
Moonbars, he's already told you he has inferior equipment mate
Plato says:
Hmmm....While these are good words, it does not seem to go with your previous actions. Why the change of heart?
Aqua says:
Bloody hell, you're getting annoying I must say
Aqua says:
change of heart? It was YOU who attacked US mate!
Plato says:
per the reasons outlined above...your actions were the cause
Moonbars says:
*slaps Aqua around with the Desolation Row Kipper*
Aqua says:
thanks, I need that sometimes
Moonbars says:
*slaps PLATO about with with DR Kipper*
Aqua says:
even better
Paddy says:
Thought we had discussed Desolator Dave already, but very happy to retell his sqadf and pathetic story again
Plato says:
But enough...we have covered this several times now
Moonbars says:
will you two stop bickering?
Aqua says:
so do you regret killing our man?
Paddy says:
Ambassador Platto, they obviously need fgor us to go over it step be step again
Plato says:
yet strangely I have asked for your thinking and not received a true reply ...
Plato says:
Death in all forms is regrettable Lord Aqua...but sometimes necessary
Moonbars says:
you killed our man, you've got blood on your hands, but we are prepared to let god judge that when you die, and move on as friends in this world
Moonbars says:
smoke the peace pipe
Paddy says:
Lord Moonbars - you obviously have not been kept upto date by the Great Desolator
Aqua says:
Careful Ambassador
Plato says:
Lord Aqua...do you need some time to bring your people up to speed on your grevious actions?
Plato says:
The Horde will wait if you need it
Moonbars says:
no, that's our position.. are you prepared to draw a line under the whole unforunate incident, and continue on as friends?
Moonbars says:
a silience, perhaps it is the Horde that needs time to consult itself?
Aqua says:
indeed
Plato says:
The Horde has adequately polled these items among its members...perhaps the lack of communication is on your side? Or was it your strategy to unfairly deal with us?
Moonbars says:
you sound like you wish a conflcit
Moonbars says:
is this so?
Paddy says:
adding toi that that Lord Aqua and I discussed Desolator Dave for many weeks
Plato says:
The Blood Oath Horde wishes fairness and security...neithier of which we have felt that you have offered
Aqua says:
only insofar as you wanted him to move in specified directions in neutral land, that's all Paddy
Paddy says:
yes we did
Paddy says:
and you went the other way every time after agreeing to our requests
Plato says:
A wr zone can hardly be considered nuetral, can it?
Aqua says:
oh sorry, the warzone is in your possession is it?
Moonbars says:
I would have thought that the presence of a neutral, or even a friendly neutral, scout in the area would have been a benefit to you - we would of course have warned you if we spotted any enemy units.
Paddy says:
a war zone being land where there is a war
Moonbars says:
how many units where in the area?
Paddy says:
but you are not to know such informationare you great desolator
Aqua says:
I recall seeing 4 one turn.....down to about 2 then next and none after that
Plato says:
indeed it was Lord Aqua...our troop movements in defense of the Horde will not be stopped...not to mention your agreement to move a certain way and then moving another
Aqua says:
never saw one AM unit if I remember correctly.....
Aqua says:
so hardly much war going on ....lol
Paddy says:
again you are the know all lord desolattor
Paddy says:
and again you surely see all
Aqua says:
just telling what I remember seeing
Plato says:
So then...you are admitting that your warrior was a spy?
Aqua says:
lolololololol
Moonbars says:
the bottom line is this: we are offering to draw a line under this and move on, both sides feel wronged. Do you want this, or do you want a conflict?
Paddy says:
and as you know we were making sure YOU did not see tham
Paddy says:
conflict with you? hmmm
Plato says:
What measure are you offering Moonbars, to regain our trust?
Aqua says:
oh man this is rich
Paddy says:
thought from your stance you wanted conflict with us
Moonbars says:
the bottom line is this: we are offering to draw a line under this and move on, both sides feel wronged. Do you want this, or do you want a conflict?
Moonbars says:
I am not sure how else to phrase it Plato.
Plato says:
So, you spy on us, break agreements, and order us around...and then just want to be friends? Hmmm...\
Paddy says:
Lord Desolator, rich indeed, especially how you would say that you would move one way then move the other
Aqua says:
that's not how I remembered it Paddy, but I won't bother arguing
Paddy says:
Oh Ambassador, they offer more than friendship
they offer us the opportunity to be safe of their immortals
Aqua says:
Moonbars is our Foreign Minister, not me
Paddy says:
we are priviliged to be here this day indeed
Plato says:
perhaps their immortals are otherwise engaged? perhaps their other war does not go well? Perhaps this is just a momentary change in their stance toward us and once they conclude that war we will be at risk again? hmmm...yet they offer nothing, my Khan.
Paddy says:
No I do not believe that at all.
Here we meet with te Great Lords of Desolation
Paddy says:
Great Lords of Desolation, I thank you for meeting with us this day
how do you see us moving on?
Moonbars says:
whatever you decide, it makes very little immediate difference
Aqua says:
I'm not sure what you want us to offer Plato. You killed our Warrior....yet you expect us to offer something. Sorry, call me stupid...I don't quite get it
Paddy says:
so what do you see then?
Plato says:
My apologies for being unclear Lord Aqua...What do you suggest?
Aqua says:
suggest what? what we offer? We offer peace. WE would hope you would apologise for the war you caused, see the error of your ways and take steps to make things right
Aqua says:
clearly that is a forlorn hope
Plato says:
Clearly...as your stance on matters is the cause of this war...and they seem not to have changed
Moonbars says:
Plato, try to understand that just becuase our views are different to yours, it does not make them wrong
Moonbars says:
the bottom line is this: we are offering to draw a line under this and move on, both sides feel wronged. Do you want this, or do you want a conflict?
Plato says:
What assurances or signs do we have that this situation would not recur once you have dealt with your current war?
Moonbars says:
PADDY - save sent
Aqua says:
lol
Moonbars says:
well that's upto you - will you be attacking any more of our warriors?
Aqua says:
same assurances that we have that you won't murder our units
Plato says:
Indeed, we would attack your warriors in a similar situation...The question is: How will you take action to ensure that a similar situation will not occur again?
Aqua says:
I think you should be War Minister, PLato
Moonbars says:
we are unable to do anything, if the horde declared an area in which we had a unit a war zone, we would be powerless to prevent you killing that unit, would we not?
Plato says:
I am not skilled in the matters of war Lord Aqua...just in the matters of fairness and security
Moonbars says:
perhaps if you would wish to draw up a border, or sphere of influence, we could avoid such unpleasentness in the future.
Plato says:
No, Lord Moonbars...we would discuss the matter with you...as we did with Lord Aqua for several turns.
Plato says:
Lord Aqua choose to reneg on his movement committments
Moonbars says:
ah, and becuase we disagreed with your assesment & definition, you killed our unit
Moonbars says:
that is the action of a bully, plato
Plato says:
Yes...Red Guard troops will not be interfered with in a war zone when someone is clearly disregarding their commitments
Paddy says:
It was my call as Khan,
and that was a final decision made via polling as Desolator Dave was a considered to have gone too far
Aqua says:
this is what happened......paddy ordered our unit to move in a certain direction....as in, move southest....period. I said our unit would continue exploring north, be it northeast or northwest, but would be careful to keep out of your way
Plato says:
A bully? When our national security is at risk? I think not
Aqua says:
and that is exactly what we did
Paddy says:
The saga of Desolator Dave is well documented
Aqua says:
you then killed him several turns later when he was nowhere near the battlefield
Aqua says:
is that what happened paddy?
Plato says:
yes...very well documented
Moonbars says:
the bottom line is this: we are offering to draw a line under this and move on, both sides feel wronged. Do you want this, or do you want a conflict?
Moonbars says:
plato's typing a long one..
Plato says:
Again, what offer of assurances ort signs do you offer? This could go on a long time if we just repeat ourselves.
Moonbars says:
what signs and assurances do you want?
Aqua says:
are our units entitled to explore neutral ground or not?
Plato says:
Of course Lord Aqua. We recognize international territory. and we recognize commitment as well. When at peace, feel free to explore all you want. But when in a war zone, it would be wise to honour commitments
Aqua says:
we made no commitments we didn't keep
Moonbars says:
what signs and assurances do you want?
Paddy says:
yes you did
Paddy says:
You went back on your word time anbd again with desolator Dave
Moonbars says:
this is such a productive chat we are having here, going round and round in circles
Paddy says:
well we will not accept Aqua just blasting us.
Moonbars says:
and you killed him, so i'd say that was evens
Plato says:
Indeed Lord Moonbars. We await your peace offering and we will seriously consider.
Paddy says:
He agreed to a request, then went against his own word.
Paddy says:
Yes ok.
Moonbars says:
I have already made my offer
Moonbars says:
the bottom line is this: we are offering to draw a line under this and move on, both sides feel wronged. Do you want this, or do you want a conflict?
Moonbars says:
no more posturing or hot air please
Moonbars says:
and that applies to aqua as well
Plato says:
The offer is not adequate to address our greviences. Do you wish to reconsider? I will be happy to have this matter polled by the Horde, but am pretty sure of the outcome.
Paddy says:
(Paddy heads over to the bar for a double shot of rum)
Moonbars says:
I have already asked you state the assurances you require, and you have not replied
Aqua says:
Aqua has his mouth firmly taped by his foreign minister
Plato says:
As you have no suggestions on the matter, I will return to the Horde and try to reach a consensus on what it would take to set the field straight again. It would be good if you could offer a starting point, but we will work through this internally and give you a response. The Horde will need to vote on these matters as well. You should have our response in around 3 turns or so. Will that be ad
Moonbars says:
i hope it isnt a long list
Moonbars says:
the bottom line is this: we are offering to draw a line under this and move on, both sides feel wronged. Do you want this, or do you want a conflict?
Moonbars says:
poll that.
Plato says:
I will inform the great council, Lord Moonbars. I will indeed set it to a poll...I will inform you of the response when a majority is reached
Moonbars says:
excellent
Aqua says:
meanwhile, keep your units well away from our territory
Aqua says:
please
Plato says:
Ahhh....ordering our units again. A sad continuance of the attitude that caused this war
Aqua says:
oh dear
Moonbars says:
i thought u were taped ah well, back into the bag you go
Moonbars says:
*struggles to get aqua back in the carry-all*
Moonbars says:
just bear in mind that there is mis-trust on both sides. if you send units near us, it will escalate tensions
Moonbars says:
we will likewise bear this in mind
Plato says:
It was good talking with you both. I have looked forward to getting to know you both. It is sad that it is under these circumstances. We will be back in contact soon. Thank You both for this chat
Moonbars says:
*waves*
Aqua says:
goodbye hordes
Moonbars says:
Plato says:
Goodbye Lords Aqua and Moonbars

McMeadows:
I have provided BOH with details (map) of our position. Their Red Guard will think with us on strategy. I think this will help our alliance. They felt that we were being a bit too much in control of how things go and I agree. They're respected civ-players as well and we have mutual goals. So let's work closer together.
Therefore I hope 1 of them or us can have an evaluation on the risks of moving 1(2) instead of 3(622). We could threaten both Invictus and Inner Sanctum, keeping more DR units busy, allowing BOH to have an even more enhanced advantage on taking Sidon. Due to the defenses of DR on this side of their empire, BOH become the true attackers. An evaluation on the losses if we do attack the DR immortal stack would also be interesting, as well as their chances on attacking us.
I have agreed with Paddy that issues considering misunderstandings or other confusion will be settled first between the 2 of us. We speak eachother often and have a good mutual understanding.
Rhothaerill:
The risks of moving 12 instead of 3622....DR can attack us with impunity with a better than even chance of success (4-attack, effective 3 defense) the first turn we move there whereas we wouldn't be able to return that fire nearly as effectively (3-attack, effective 5 defense for the fortified spearman, 4 for the unfortified units.). I would very much lean against attacking the immortal stack on the mountain as the odds are against us. The obvious benefits of moving that way are that we directly threaten Invictus
(and to a lesser degree Inner Sanctum) and could attack there and hope they don't have too many units in the city.
The risks of moving 3622...DR can continue to get to other mountains, etc. before we can do so because they can use their roads. DR also has a few more turns to build defense units. Our stack might end up as just an effective feint to keep their units busy (not that that would be a bad thing since we wouldn't necessarily lose as many units that way). It gives BOH time to get
their units in position against Sidon while we keep DR's units busy. Once BOH attacks Sidon, then DR will have to make up their minds where to go. Either they continue to block us and lose their cities to BOH, or they split them up and our own chances on the attack will increase.
I lean toward the latter course personally. It's not as risky for us, and we still keep their units busy and away from BOH's SOD.
As to working closely with BOH on the attack, that is definitely preferable that we each know what the other is planning. That is part of what led to the misunderstanding snoop and I had, as we were not sure what BOH was doing.
As to you and Paddy discussing the misunderstandings that's fine with me. I won't be involving myself with diplo much longer anyway. The only thing I ask is that you post everything so that the rest of the team knows what is going on too, especially if someone else is the turnplayer (like me). I know you already apologized for not keeping us informed so I won't bring it up
again after this.
McMeadows:
Thanks Rhot,.. those are thoughts I was hoping for. I'm going to send them to Paddy to have the Red Guard make their own judgements.

Paddy says:
hello
McMeadows says:
where's BOH atm?
McMeadows says:
how many turns from striking?
Paddy says:
We call this: "Operation Sidon Takeaway"
We are currently at “Metallica" 8,9
This coming turn, 1475 BC, we will go to New Battle Rendezvous Point - at "U2" 8
Then On turn 1450 BC all units at Battle Rendezvous Point - at "U2" 8 move 3-3-2, become visible to the DR and within striking distance of Sidon 8-8.
Then on turn 1425 we strike Sidon
Our troop list:
Now at “Metallica" 8,9
The Wanderers (sword 3/3)
Hammerhead (sword 3/3)
Scarface (swords 4/4)
Long Blades (swords 4/4)

Soothsayer's Savages (horseman 5/5)
Red Roughrider (horseman 4/4)
13th Guards (horseman 4/4)
McMeadows says:
I was just wondering how much longer as we're getting catapults on our head
Paddy says:
We are working to the timetable
McMeadows says:
It might just get to a point that they'll come down on us with the bunch
Paddy says:
maybe
McMeadows says:
not an option to move in with the horsemen 1 turn ahead?
Paddy says:
no
then possibly loose them
maddness
we have an army fior a reasion
McMeadows says:
If Sidon is empty you owe me an subway
Paddy says:
hehehe
may I pass on some info from RGO?
McMeadows says:
If you leave them 2 tiles from Sidon, only horsmen can attack them. 1st of all, there's no way they;ll have that many stationed there, 2nd, they'll be slaughtered by the swordsmen that are coming up behind
Paddy says:
suggest that Bards pull their forces out.
Aqua can't possibly make it in time with his immortals.
to Sidon
McMeadows says:
inform me
I would like to retreat indeed
We'll be back when Sidon is gone and you're moving towards Antioch
Paddy says:
may I invite Ljube here?
McMeadows says:
sure
Ljube has been added to the conversation.
Paddy says:
hello
McMeadows says:
g'day Ljube
Ljube says:
hello
McMeadows says:
do I have to repeat?
Ljube says:
No need to repeat
Paddy has let me in on everything essential
Paddy says:
may we look at the sidon part first
Ljube says:
yes
McMeadows says:
allrighty... also on the Subway?
Ljube says:
subway?
a new code?
Paddy says:
I think I owe a meal
McMeadows says:
hehe.. Paddy mate, you didn't tell him all..!!
Paddy says:
if sidon is empty
not yet
Ljube says:
Sidon empty?
right now?
McMeadows says:
indeed... I think it will be
Paddy says:
has 1 spear min
Ljube says:
definitely
McMeadows says:
I wonder
Ljube says:
maybe a couple of horses too
I would keep horses in there
if I were aqua
McMeadows says:
makes sense now that they have halted us
Ljube says:
yes, ok I suggest you pull out to avoid losses
Paddy says:
Tropical Fish (spearman 4/4) in Sidon
McMeadows says:
if you had been able to come a little earlier, I bet they had moved everthing to the east
Is AM still on the mountain?
or again...
Ljube says:
I think on a hill
but near anyway
AM are very valuable.
McMeadows says:
near enough to have a view
Paddy says:
I do not see them with pic I took
McMeadows says:
incredible,... I thought they would take the opportunity to attack you in the back
Ljube says:
who?
McMeadows says:
AM
Ljube says:
hehe, we are too strong for anything like that
our interior is not undefended
McMeadows says:
still, helping us is the other end of the spectrum..!
Ljube says:
we consider you our allies and we honour our alliances
not only in words, but in deeds as well
McMeadows says:
I was referring to AM
they're helping us
Ljube says:
ah, AM informing for you
McMeadows says:
us and you
Ljube says:
they have their own agenda I guess
to stay out of trouble for as long as they can
after all, they can switch to republic and grow
if they keep this attitude
OK, back to Sidon, you know our plans, please keep the roads free for two more turns.
In 1475 we will move our entire force to the position 8 from U2
McMeadows says:
roads ARE free
Ljube says:
In 1450 we will move our entire force together with a couple of horses that will catch up to the position 8-8 from Sidon
at that moment our force will become visible
consisting of 19 units
8 of them horses
On 1425 Sidon falls or is destroyed
McMeadows says:
and then it's on to Antioch..
Ljube says:
yes, more units will come to join our forces including the first ancient cavalry
But attack on Antioch will come after recovery of our units. Might take some time, so they may build up their defences.
McMeadows says:
Come on...
Ljube says:
Again I see the city of Aquarius and the horse resource as the key element of Aqua's position.
I wonder where the babs are
McMeadows says:
You're coming in with an insane amry and you're going to delay it?
Paddy says:
I have news on the babs
Ljube says:
let's hear
Paddy says:
they have started to gather at a point to the south of "The Furnace"
Ljube says:
yeah, a bit late though
Paddy says:
they will be several more turns gathering
yes indeed
but the hope was to be a force of cleaning up loose units
it gives us an ace up our sleeves
McMeadows says:
indeed... just to finish it off
Ljube says:
Not much use of the babs. The battle is probably going to be over by teh time they arrive. OK Mac, Antioch is still some time in the future, so let's discuss your stack and your plans now.
McMeadows says:
If ANtioch is in the distant future there's no need to discuss our plans
Paddy says:
why?
McMeadows says:
What do we need to do if you're retreating??
Paddy says:
we could not hit it in the next 4 turns - 100 years
McMeadows says:
get slaughtered?
Ljube says:
We're not retreating, we're containing them
so should you
Paddy says:
who said retreating
goodness
healing after a battle is not retreating
would you really press on with a damaged army
McMeadows says:
There's probably no need for it... But ok... might take an extra 2 turns
Then it's ANtioch I presume?
Paddy says:
maybe, we have not got there yet
McMeadows says:
We'll be there in the east
If they pull out troops towards you we move in
Ljube says:
OK, that's good. Are you now outside of their borders?
This is because Aqua is bragging about taking hit points off your spears so I was wondering if they are healing.
Also, if you plan to bring more spears and archers to make it more difficult for aqua to even consider an attack on your stack.
Moving your stack down taht hill is perceived in teh Horde as a suicide move.
McMeadows says:
Rhot has done some indeep analyses on that as well.. we know
The DR stack is on a mountain 8 from Invictus, we are 88 now, but we might retreat a bit
Ljube says:
Are you inside their territory?
We don't see that part so don't know.
Could be a problem with their catapults if they have more of them.
They could consider an attack then.
Paddy says:
Mac has givejn us the latest pic
and Rhoth
Ljube says:
OK, sorry mac, I'll check it out
Paddy says:
The pics are very helpful
Ljube says:
indeed they are
OK mac, I see you are out of their territory
could you hold that mountain for one more turn?
Or do you fear an attack?
McMeadows says:
am back.. was gone for a few minutes... catching up
Aqua is hitting us with 1 cat atm, hope they're not wheeling in to many soon.
I fear they might attack soon enough and we'll be out of stack once more
Ljube says:
Yes, so do you want to pull out?
Why hasn't aqua attacked last turn?
Is he trying to negotiate with you?
McMeadows says:
I think he's counting our defensestrength.
There'll be a point where he thinks it's acceptable to attack
Paddy says:
They count every detail.
Ljube says:
hmm, based on what?
Paddy says:
Remember Aqua is a tax accountant by trade
Ljube says:
hehehe
Paddy says:
He has battle calculators and such
they even have a rng component
McMeadows says:
that's what I mean
they're chopping of hitpoints now
there's a point of attack
Ljube says:
aren't your lads recovering?
are your units healing? I thought they were.
McMeadows says:
should be...
then, the danger of an attck this turn is same as it was last turn
are you reinforcing the stack?
McMeadows says:
no...
Ljube says:
hmm
McMeadows says:
not any time soon
Ljube says:
hmm
McMeadows says:
we're building forces..
Ljube says:
do you want to swing your forces toward Marcopolis?
Or do you want to move your stack 7?
Or stay?
It's your decision after all.
McMeadows says:
I'm thinking of 7, but don't know what the group is thinking
if there's no damage we might stay
Ljube says:
Yes, once Sidon falls, tehy are going to have to move immortals
or capitulate
You see, we have 3 elite horses in our stack
there is a fair chance we can get a military leader
if we do get one, we'll build a sword army and press on
nothing will stop us then.
McMeadows says:
if no ML, I would say there's still enough reason to press on as well
Paddy says:
indeed
must kill aqua....
my story has not changed
Horde are strong and determined in our resolve
We may be many, but we are One Horde.
Ljube says:
Yes we are
McMeadows says:
Ok, I just wanted to point out that we're attracting units, which is the plan, but we're not waiting everlasting to get slaughtered in the end.
Ljube says:
May I propose you swing 6 if you fear the DR might attack you
McMeadows says:
I'll have it evaluated
Ljube says:
and worry not about our part, we are ready to attack and destroy our mutual enemies
McMeadows says:
I know your intentions, but sometimes I wonder how many insurances you want...
Paddy says:
we are marching
Ljube says:
indeed we are
firmly
McMeadows says:
we'll celebrate in Inner Sanctum eventually...
Ljube says:
OK, so for the purpose of keeping your forces alive, if you feel that aqua might attack next turn, do move them, either 7 or 6 to threaten marcopolis
if there is no road 9 from Invictus, I can't see in the picture
McMeadows says:
there is a road to Invictus 8 , the mountain with the stack
Ljube says:
yes, and 9, 9 of invictus?
McMeadows says:
not that I know... have no map at hand...
Ljube says:
ok, than moving your stack 6 would potentially threaten marcopolis
and move it out of harm's way
It also offers a triangulation, a manoeuvre known from chess
6-8-4
McMeadows says:
We're all a bit anxious to get to the real action
Paddy says:
hehehe well said
ok, Gentlemen, have we finished here for now?
Ljube says:
Yes, I think we have
McMeadows says:
ah yes I do think so
Paddy says:
Thank you both
We will meet again soon enough
Ljube says:
sure thing
Paddy says:
The save is with A-M and will move in the coming hours.
Ljube says:
ah, nice
Paddy says:
I leave now for 30 mins.
McMeadows says:
allrighty
Ljube says:
I leave now for a short nap
Ljube has left the conversation.

I'm truly enjoying these short chats with Aqua.
Aqua:
Sorry, I've been asked by your Great Khan not to talk with you. Apparently you are not authorised to discuss affairs of state with us. He is clearly a powerful leader
Ljube:
hehe, I have an agenda of my own
Ljube:

Aqua:
I see
Aqua:
well good luck with it
Ljube:
LOL
Aqua:
sounds lik a coup is on the way!
Ljube:
we attacked sidon
Ljube:
rather destroyed it
Aqua:
yes we know
Aqua:
we expected that
Aqua:
no big deal
Aqua:
it was merely an ouptost
Ljube:
yes
Aqua:
and we arranged things so you could not capture it
Ljube:
yes, it grew last turn?
Ljube:
too bad we couldn't capture it
Aqua:
we rushed something so you couldn't
Ljube:
yes, I expected that much
Aqua:
anyway, I shall leave you to your revolution
Aqua:
good luck with the Khan
Ljube:
lol, no talking to me any more
Ljube:
who would you prefer as Khan?
Ljube:
Paddy or me?
Aqua:
you are not permitted to talk to me, apparently
Ljube:
I care not about paddy's orders
Ljube:
do you?
Aqua:
lol
Aqua:
depends on who we can better negotiate peace with I guess
Ljube:
It seems you do listen to Paddy's orders. In fact the whole world obeys him. I guess my coup won't be very successful if that is to continue.
Ljube:
ah, peace
Aqua:
No man orders the Desolation Row. Not the Great Khan, nor any other. You would be wise to understand that
Ljube:
I don't think so, the khan ordered you to stop talking and you obeyed.
Aqua:
did I?
Aqua:
in fact, I am still talking
Aqua:
and there is another subtle difference.....
Aqua:
he has no power to order me not to talk.....but he told me, an outsider, that he has ordered YOU not to talk
Ljube:
Yes he has, so I stopped for a while, but he is asleep now.
Aqua:
a very poor state of affairs, talking about one's colleagues to an outsider.....an enemy in fact
Aqua:
ah, and while the Khan sleeps, you plot
Ljube:
LOL
Aqua:
well I must go off to work now
Ljube:
OK, I'll be here when you return
Ljube:
in 8-9 hours?
Aqua:
will you indeed?
Aqua:
you seem keen to open dialogue with us
Ljube:
or perhaps after you have lunch
Aqua:
perhaps you would be a good ambassador to u
Aqua:
Plato seems so stubborn and arrogant
Ljube:
I used to be ambassador but paddy fired me
Aqua:
clearly he is one of the Khan's minions
Ljube:
he sure is
Aqua:
this has been......interesting
Aqua:
we shall talk again
Ljube:
but I will tell you more about it later today
Ljube:
yes
Aqua:
have a good evening
Ljube:
yes, going to bed now

Paddy says:
hello Rhoth
Rhothaerill says:
Hey Paddy.
Rhothaerill says:
I just saw your email. I'm not sure yet if I'd be able to make it to a chat. I'll see later on. I can't speak for snoop or McM, but I think McM at least is generally asleep about that time since I think that is 1 or 2am for him
Paddy says:
yeah, I had to ask though
Rhothaerill says:
What did your team want to discuss with us?
Rhothaerill says:
If not later I can at least talk for a while now
Paddy says:
the war
Paddy says:
and movment ideas
Rhothaerill says:
Okay.
Rhothaerill says:
Let me open up the save. I haven't seen it yet.
Rhothaerill says:
It looks like DR's forces on the mountain are now down to 6 immortals and 4 spearmen
Paddy says:
good
Paddy says:
is that enough for you to attack
Rhothaerill says:
We'll be discussing that very idea.
Paddy says:
good
Paddy says:
Aqua is being a smart arse in splitting his stack
Paddy says:
playing us
Rhothaerill says:
They still have enough to do some serious damage to us when we get off that mountain as it will take two turns beyond this before we can attack Invictus
Paddy says:
2? ok
Rhothaerill says:
1 to move on the gold hill, 1 to move on the hill next to Invictus and the 3rd to attack the city. They could conceivably hit us on both the hill turns
Paddy says:
really
Paddy says:
I thought you were at Invictus 8,8
Rhothaerill says:
Yes, but they are on the mountain 8 of Invictus
Paddy says:
yes
Rhothaerill says:
We'd have to move 1 then 2 on the number pad to go around them.
Paddy says:
or if you take that stack you are thus being invictus 8
either way it will screw with aqua
Rhothaerill says:
Attacking that mountain is tantamount to suicide. Attack 3 vs. defense 5
Paddy says:
I see Ljube went off diplo channels and sent snoop an email today
Rhothaerill says:
I don't think snoop has been on for a while so I haven't seen it yet.
Paddy says:
ok
Paddy says:
would you like a copy?
Rhothaerill says:
Sure
Rhothaerill says:
Got it. Yes, heading to the east is another possibility as we would be able to threaten two cities eventually. That has been discussed in our forum too. It would take us a bit longer to get into position though
Paddy says:
I chattered with Snoop yesturday
Rhothaerill says:
Yep I saw that
Paddy says:
ahh good
Paddy says:
did you like the idea of Horde going 2
Rhothaerill says:
Yep.
Paddy says:
so if you went south as well, moved this turn, Aqua would be in a conundrum
Paddy says:
as we are now heading to threaten 4 of his cities
Paddy says:
and then the Babs could possibly take their horse city
Rhothaerill says:
How soon would you be in position to threaten?
Paddy says:
opening save now to see
Rhothaerill says:
It would take 4 turns to get to 8 of Marcopolis (assuming they don't block us)
Paddy says:
yes
Paddy says:
The Babs need a few turns to get into position
that being they will
it would be 3 turns to the ridgeline
From there we can work along the ridgeline to Antioch, 2 more turns to be Antioch 6
or 3 more turns to be on Inner sanctum
Rhothaerill says:
Okay so it's roughly the same. If we all start moving now then we'd be threatening several cities.
Paddy says:
yes
Paddy says:
and taking their eyes off the babs
Rhothaerill says:
I need to talk to McM and snoop first, but I think that's a plan then.
Paddy says:
I have been playing a pyschological game with aqua
he has rung me everyday at least once since our stack appeared
I keep telling him to beware of the vampires
Rhothaerill says:
Heh.
Paddy says:
I spun him a massive tale 3 weeks back
on the devious and underhanded ways of each team member, and how they are decieving all of us
I twisted in a whole parcel of truths on various game play of each of them, examples of actions in pbems and demo games etc
Paddy says:
how they as vampires will strike when the time is right etc
Rhothaerill says:
And what's even funnier is that the only one playing for them is 1889
Rhothaerill says:
Since the rest of that team is inactive
Paddy says:
that was a major key of my yarn
how they are acting all "inactive" so we all leave 1889 alone
almost pittying him for being locked out of his forums and being all alone etc
Paddy says:
anyway it went into lots of fun details etc
and each time he rings, I find a chance to reiterate a point or two of that chat etc
my hope is to make him commit something into his southern cities etc
Rhothaerill says:
That's good. I wonder if he will though. Until the Babs show up we have no way of telling
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Paddy says:
well I figure it is all worth a try
Rhothaerill says:
Yeah, might as well
Paddy says:
The role play is a lot of fun
Paddy says:
He also is playing with my head when he can
Paddy says:
He had a great theory on how DR - Bards - AM and LB would trample the Horde when we built the SoZ
Rhothaerill says:
Heh
Paddy says:
He felt all nations would gather to take the Horde down for daring to build SoZ
Rhothaerill says:
Not your allies at least. We prefer to remain on your good side.
Rhothaerill says:
And in any case we'd much prefer to remove DR
Paddy says:
We make great allies
Paddy says:
a sure fire combination for the future
Rhothaerill says:
Works for me.
Paddy says:
will you be sending reinforcements?
Paddy says:
you may have noticed a stream of horse passing through to the front
a trickle really
Rhothaerill says:
At the moment no. We sent most of our forces at the beginning and the remaining forces are there to prevent any chances of a counterattack by DR. If things go bad then we might send some, but that remains to be seen.
Paddy says:
ok, so you believe that you have adequate numbers for their decimation?
that is good to know
Rhothaerill says:
Well, with both you and the Babs in the mix, yes. If we were all alone then no
Rhothaerill says:
But if we had been all alone we probably wouldn't have launched the attack to begin with
Paddy says:
understandable
Paddy says:
I am thinking:
Your forces move south
Babs arrive to west for attack on DR Horse city
We move south to ridge
once we hit that ridge, to run off a group of horse (5 - 9), send them crashing through the gullet of his lands
a pillaging, smash and grab force
this leaves our Army as mainly infantry
thus further spltting DR forces
Rhothaerill says:
That's a possibility, although you might lose a bunch of horses that way. I think our main concern is removing that iron from them. Remove that and they can no longer build immortals
Paddy says:
yes
Paddy says:
was just a thought, i have been looking at many angles
Paddy says:
I know Antioch is well connected with roads
Paddy says:
but they can be cut
Rhothaerill says:
Not a bad one, they just have the ability to decimate your horse force if you leave them too our in the open
Paddy says:
we believe antioch will be a vicious battle
Rhothaerill says:
too out in the open
Paddy says:
indeed
Rhothaerill says:
I have a hunch that if we move next turn they may finally attack us, though the chances of them winning are 50/50
Rhothaerill says:
I'm going to go ahead and start playing our turn. It's midnight for McM so I don't expect him to log on to discuss
Paddy says:
if you move 3 to next mountain you should be safe
Aqua is an accountant, he knows he only has at best a 27% chance in winning on moutains
Paddy says:
I think McM is out with the young Ladies
Rhothaerill says:
That's my plan.
Paddy says:
Aqua has many different calculators for Civ, including a rng
Rhothaerill says:
landing on that mountain gives us 4 defense while he still has 4 attack. That's their best shot at us.
Paddy says:
very devious and crafty player
Rhothaerill says:
For a little while
Rhothaerill says:
Heh, I always play by feel. I'm more of a go-with-your-gut type of player
Paddy says:
I know what you mean
Rhothaerill says:
Hasn't hurt me yet.
Paddy says:
hehehe
Paddy says:
some people freak at my pbem turn rate
personally I am in them to enjoy, and over analysing things can be a killer
Paddy says:
then in a demo game ( I call this game a team diplo game) many hands and heads make for light work etc
so lots of things get analysised
Rhothaerill says:
Yes, though we have quite a bit fewer players than you. McM, snoop and I are the only ones active on a daily basis. And I'll be less active very soon.
Paddy says:
it may sound funny, but I consider us all one team. We are different nations yes, yet like the way that the United States and Australia share so many great and wonderful ways, histories, traditions and alliances, our Nations, Euphorica (China) and the Blood Oath Horde (Mongols) share so many things.
Rhothaerill says:
Hmm, just moved. Invictus has no units in it.
Paddy says:
what??????????????????
Rhothaerill says:
If they leave it like that we could burn it next turn
Paddy says:
wow
Rhothaerill says:
With one of our horses
Paddy says:
hehehe
Rhothaerill says:
Now we just gave Aqua something else to think about.
Paddy says:
that will cut the road o their stack
Paddy says:
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA truely awesome
Paddy says:
well done
Paddy says:
he will so so freak
Rhothaerill says:
I only wish we had more horses. L(
Paddy says:
I can already hear the phone call.... blahblahblah....
Paddy says:
may the spirits of your people guide you in this turn
Rhothaerill says:
And yours as well
Paddy says:
thank you
Rhothaerill says:
The save is headed your way
Paddy says:
thank you
Paddy says:
hello
Paddy says:
just wondering if I could get a pic of aqua stack with details
Paddy says:
no rush
Rhothaerill says:
Sure.
Paddy says:
thanks
Paddy says:
just the number cruncher within me
trying to keep track of there units etc
Paddy says:
intel can help us both
Rhothaerill says:
On its way right now
Paddy says:
thank you mate
Paddy says:
awesome clarity in the pic, thank you.

My latest and I fear final chat with Aqua.
Aqua:
how goes your internal political wranglings?
Aqua:
getting much support for a coup yet?
Ljube:
not really, not at odds with paddy any more
Ljube:
I mean, we still have our differences but I don't think I could win the elections.
Aqua:
ah, given up then
Aqua:
he is indeed a mighty Khan
Ljube:
yes, he has influence
Aqua:
then I guess you are simply my enemy now, not a potential friend
Ljube:
well, depends
Ljube:
If I manage to negotiate peace with you, my chaces of winning the elections would increase.
Aqua:
I see
Aqua:
but you have just razed one of our cities
Aqua:
how does that engender peace discussions?
Ljube:
ah, you called it an outpost
Aqua:
it was still our city
Ljube:
not really a proper city
Aqua:
it still needs to be replaced
Ljube:
an invasion frontier outpost
Aqua:
it still used a settler
Aqua:
production is precious
Ljube:
we have the upper hand here
Ljube:
it's you who must pay for peace, not us
Aqua:
you have the upper hand huh?
Ljube:
I think that one is evident
Aqua:
well I suggest you use it then
Ljube:
I couldn't be a horde leader if I made an unfavourable deal for the horde, now could I?
Aqua:
no
Aqua:
nor could Paddy continue to be a horde leader if he made tragic military decisions
Ljube:
indeed
Aqua:
oh well, I guess we shall await or doom at the hands of teh horde
Ljube:
well, I hope we could avoid open confrontation
Aqua:
we have tried to offer all we have for peace and you rejected it the first time. Not much use offering it all again
Aqua:
ha!
Ljube:
what was it you offered?
Ljube:
you offered just peace
Aqua:
if you'd wanted to avoid it you wouldn't have 20 troops on our border
Aqua:
techs
Aqua:
future trade
Ljube:
20 troops are there to insure a fair peace treaty is signed
Aqua:
security
Aqua:
possibly money
Aqua:
and luxuries
Aqua:
no, 20 troops are there to ensure your extortion demands are met
Aqua:
paddy made it clear that it didn't matter what we offered, you would still strike that first turn to take our city
Ljube:
not if you had offered that city as part of a peace deal
Aqua:
he gave away too much strategy in my opinion, sving us many units trying to defend the city
Ljube:
but you didn't think of that
Aqua:
why would we offer a city? we'd rather abandon it ourselves than give it away
Ljube:
your logic will be your undoing - you give a city to ensure the horde benevolence and friendship
Aqua:
clearly you will march on Antioch and take that too....but we shall not give that city up to you either
Ljube:
We do not intend to attack the heavily fortified city of antioch with meagre forces we brought to the front.
Aqua:
lol
Ljube:
These forces are just liek I said only there to ensure a peace is signed
Aqua:
yes of course they are
Ljube:
One that would be just and fair, all considered
Aqua:
begone, and stop wasting my time with your ridiculous words. You are the epitomy of arrogance and do not use and semblance of logic. You only bring scorn and derision upon yourself with your silly and arrogant statements
Aqua:
the horde are no more than common criminals and mercenaries. The whole world knows this already.
Ljube:
I'm sorry you chose to ignore my hand of friendship

Between the Bards playing 1400bc and us playing 1400bc Ljube and I had the following chat.
Paddy says:
welcome mate
I have some great news
The Bards are our friends
and the save is here
and they morched 3.
Ljube says:
yes
great
Paddy says:
I have a long chat with Rhoth
he really liked your plan and points
I will post the chat later
so he moved
Ljube says:
this is excellent
Paddy says:
and found Invictus..... ?????
Paddy says:
what do you reckon?
Paddy says:
an immortal, a warrior...
Ljube says:
empty?
Paddy says:
sure is
Paddy says:
hehehe
Ljube says:
hahahahaha
Ljube says:
Paddy says:
Rhothe just sent a pic, I will now post it and the chat in the DR War thread
Ljube says:
great
Paddy says:
this must challenge DR
Paddy says:
defend it, or hide in mountains
Ljube says:
hahaha
Paddy says:
are you here for a little while?
Ljube says:
yes
Paddy says:
cool
I will go do some admin stuff and let you think over the save a bit
I feel we are now able to march for the ridge... ie 2
Paddy says:
3
Ljube says:
yes, maybe
Ljube says:
we'll discuss pros and cons
Ljube says:
when you return
Paddy says:
ok
Ljube says:
Paddy, you did an excellent work with that AC you sent barb hunting
Ljube says:
there are barbs threatening red river hill which we can now defeat
Paddy says:
thanks
Paddy says:
good
Paddy says:
Gen. Bongo wanted them out hunting fot 6/6 promotion
I just looked at F3 and saw barbs in that area3
Ljube says:
excellent
Ljube says:
I had some doubts, mainly because I wanted more units on DR front
Ljube says:
but we must not leave our land undefended
Paddy says:
chat and new bards pic posted at
http://apolyton.net/forums/showthre...639#post3868714
Ljube says:
OK, I considered our options.
Paddy says:
I am listening
Ljube says:
If we move 2 we can get to Antioch quickest, but will be subject to immortal/horse attack for 2 turns.
Paddy says:
ouch
Ljube says:
We could attack Antioch on turn 1350 BC if we move 2 this turn.
Ljube says:
If we survive of course.
Paddy says:
Antioch bad place - bad spirits hanging out there
Ljube says:
yes
Paddy says:
we would be really hurt
Ljube says:
I'm sure that's where aqua's immortals left for
Ljube says:
and all of his horses too
Paddy says:
certainly does make most sense
Paddy says:
and horse
Paddy says:
hmmm, yes
Ljube says:
yes, the key city
Ljube says:
Second option, move for the ridge.
Paddy says:
ridge, opens up so much
Ljube says:
it wouldn't be best to move 3 as initially suggested
Ljube says:
because of the danger of horse attack
Paddy says:
and here comes AQua (on msn)
Paddy says:
hehe
Ljube says:
hehe
Ljube says:
So, if we want to go to the ridge, we should move 6.
Paddy says:
really
Ljube says:
We want to avoid being caught by aqua's horses on flat terrain
Paddy says:
of course
Ljube says:
DR cavalry caught the Mongol foot soldiers in teh open. Mongols failed to form square.
Paddy says:
ouch
Paddy says:
yes
Paddy says:
6 they can still get us right
Ljube says:
6 they can't
Ljube says:
If e move 6, they can't caych us
Paddy says:
right
Paddy says:
good
Ljube says:
OK, that was second option
Paddy says:
leaves them in the open with no Immortal support
Ljube says:
We would be in position to attack either antioch or inner sanctum or even invictus in 5 turns
Ljube says:
sorry, 6 turns, meaning
Ljube says:
1250 BC
Paddy says:
Bards will be in postion in 4
I told them we would be 6 -7 I think
Ljube says:
So, first option attack in 1350 BC. Very risky. Second option attack in 1250 BC, less risky.
Ljube says:
There is a third option
Ljube says:
the one you suggested
Ljube says:
to move 4 and try to attack Antioch from the other side
Paddy says:
a long journey
Ljube says:
yes
Ljube says:
I like that option and the only problem I see with it is the fact it may be percieved as us leaving the battlefield
Ljube says:
abandoning our allies
Paddy says:
yes
Paddy says:
my preference is option 2.
The Bards have moved, no longer just sitting pretty etc
If Bards had not moved then I would be more inclined with option 3.
Ljube says:
yes, still bear in mind option 2 is no safe option, none of them is.
Ljube says:
we may still end up losing everything if we press on
Paddy says:
yes
Ljube says:
and the element of surprise present with our initial attack on Sidon is now lost
Paddy says:
indeed
Paddy says:
yet we are part of Three Nations
with people trying to get LBoys in on this
Ljube says:
they could be very very useful
Paddy says:
yes
Ljube says:
their UU is an excellent offensive unit
Paddy says:
good
Paddy says:
AM have 20 units as well if really needed
Ljube says:
The DR proved much tougher than expected. Their road network is exemplary and frustrates all atackers.
Paddy says:
thus why they need to be broken
Ljube says:
yes, oterwise they may end up ruling the world
Paddy says:
indeed
Paddy says:
Persian Knights - Persian Knight Army
Paddy says:
Ljube says:
So, what's your idea? If we move 6 (option 2) we can probably kiss goodnye reinforcing our stack with slow movers further.
Ljube says:
However, if we move 4, we can start moving our other swords and maybe create some more spears
Ljube says:
and archers
Paddy says:
if we take Option 2, that being the case, then we are there as a slow moving army, with the option of sudden strikes with Horse
Paddy says:
I think 2 is it
Ljube says:
Yes, but consider this:
Paddy says:
I feel we must place more pressure on DR
Paddy says:
I am listening
Ljube says:
Invictus - walls, Inner Sanctum - city on hill, Antioch - on hill, walls soon surely
Ljube says:
our horse attacks 2
Ljube says:
and their spears/immortals defend with 4 in Antioch
Ljube says:
and in Inner sanctum maybe even 5
Paddy says:
yes
Ljube says:
can we reasonably threaten anyone with our stack?
Paddy says:
probably not
Paddy says:
I do see that we are now swapping roles with bards
Paddy says:
we become the bait
Paddy says:
and all the while the babs sneak in the side door
Paddy says:
and then hopefully LB will start to pressure the south
Ljube says:
Well, if aqua puts everything on paper, he is going to simply ignore us
Paddy says:
if he does then we could get a few shots in
Ljube says:
he had to protect antioch, but as soon as he builds walls there and I guess pretty soon, he is going to start ignoring our stack
Paddy says:
hmmm
Ljube says:
and we simply won't be able to hurt him
Ljube says:
hill cities with walls are very tough
Paddy says:
anywhere?
Ljube says:
not even keshiks would have a ride there
Ljube says:
Antioch walls + hill 6 fortified
Ljube says:
+ fortified
Ljube says:
taht's some 4-5 don't know exactly
Ljube says:
always play by feel
Ljube says:
never calculate these things, but my feel tells me we can't win
Paddy says:
cool
Paddy says:
well we will have some fun
Paddy says:
and he will live
Ljube says:
inner sanctum - in addition to being the city and on hill is also capital + fortified
Paddy says:
but we should be able to hurt him some
Ljube says:
I guess 5 maybe even 6 defence
Ljube says:
So, my recommendation is 4.
Ljube says:
also, moving more swords/spears toward the stack and joining
Ljube says:
or simply hovering around until feudalism and chivalry arrives
Ljube says:
The best city we can attck is Invictus.
Ljube says:
because built on grass, has mountain beside
Paddy says:
ok
Ljube says:
so, what is your decision paddy?
Ljube says:
I told you pros and cons
Ljube says:
it's up to you to decide
Paddy says:
just going to reread this section
Ljube says:
Ljube says:
The good thing about moving 4 is that by the time we assume position for attack we are going to have 2 AC part of the stack and many more horses.
Ljube says:
And aqua can't move his forces out of antioch because then he would be at our mercy
Paddy says:
do you see any good in option 2
Ljube says:
well, our stack is a joke. Only good I see is if we move on Invictus. That city could fall. But that's about it.
Ljube says:
No point in threatening Antioch or Inner Sanctum with the forces we have deployed.
Paddy says:
indeed
Paddy says:
but as bait?
Paddy says:
do you really think they would ignore them
Ljube says:
It won't work. If aqua calculates everything he will ignore us.
Paddy says:
and let 20 units march in
Ljube says:
we can't risk moving the stack to the flat ground
Ljube says:
we would be slaughtered by immortals and he knows it
Paddy says:
over the ridge?
Ljube says:
we can climb the mountain there and stay there
Ljube says:
if we try to descend we will lose
Paddy says:
what of marching that ridgeline?
Paddy says:
or are we stuck on te mountain
Ljube says:
well, part of that ridge is hill and there we have 3 defence
Ljube says:
aqua would have 4 attack with immortals
Ljube says:
he would probably wait until we close in to 9-8 from antioch, then hit us with all he has got, leaving spears in antioch
Paddy says:
ok, so if we go to the mountains, we could hang there
Ljube says:
yes
Paddy says:
allowing the o6thers to hit him
Ljube says:
yes
Paddy says:
good
Ljube says:
but our stack would largely be ineffective
Paddy says:
that is fine
Ljube says:
I don't mind, I mean it would be safe there
Paddy says:
if they survive that is good
Ljube says:
In that case I suggest we send a settler to the area
Paddy says:
so aqua wins
Paddy says:
yes indeed
Paddy says:
barracks - upgrade
Ljube says:
yes
Paddy says:
ok
Ljube says:
our settler would build a city on location 3-3-2 from Nirvana
Paddy says:
and with feud med inf.
Paddy says:
nice location
Ljube says:
Or, we coula also build city on location 3-3-3-6 from Nirvana
Ljube says:
that one would catch gems
Ljube says:
but we would need a worker with the settler too
Ljube says:
I think this is an excellent idea
Paddy says:
ok
Ljube says:
Aqua can never remove our stack from that mountain
Paddy says:
good
Ljube says:
come to think of it, our stack at that location virtually prevent DR movements on bards
Paddy says:
and it will be a few turns till we have to say anything to TNA
Paddy says:
so we will have currency and construction, and possibly the free tech before anyone can winch etc
Paddy says:
winge
Paddy says:
ok, so we have a plan
Paddy says:
I said it before, I will say it again, well done
Ljube says:
yes, a good one it seems
Paddy says:
good.
Ljube says:
thanks
Ljube says:
but we can only come to these ideas together
Paddy says:
hehehe
Ljube says:
if I were playing thsi one alone I would pull out
Ljube says:
yes

Aqua says:
home at last
Paddy says:
brb
Paddy says:
hello
Aqua says:
how's your weekend?
Paddy says:
been busy
Aqua says:
cool
Aqua says:
I see you didn't attack us this turn.....rather unexpected
Paddy says:
oh
Paddy says:
so you do not think of peace
Aqua says:
oh, we never thought the horde was interested in peace
Paddy says:
ok
Aqua says:
lol
Aqua says:
it seems talks have broken down, since the horde is not interested in anything that is not completely one sided
Paddy says:
eating
Aqua says:
indeed
Aqua says:
so you do not wish to talk peace?
Paddy says:
now?
Aqua says:
anytime
Paddy says:
yes of course
Aqua says:
by peace, I mean a fair and reasonable peace
Aqua says:
not some arrogant thing dreamt up by your rabble
Aqua says:
lol
Paddy says:
really
you contyinue toi call us names and insult me
then make demands
all the time
Paddy says:
I finsd it very boring
Aqua says:
demands? We merely wish to be left alone, no demands mate
Paddy says:
you say peace this and peace that then call us whores and my children read your ****
gets a bit tireing
Aqua says:
ok then goodnight
Paddy says:
having to explain to 7 and 11 year olds
Paddy says:
the other day moonbars called me gay or somesuch
Paddy says:
you call us rabble
Paddy says:
why?3
Aqua says:
well I'm sorry for that....but anyway, never mind. I don't want to upset you again
Paddy says:
then you ask for peace
Aqua says:
no, Ididn't call you rabble
Paddy says:
Aqua says:
by peace, I mean a fair and reasonable peace
Aqua says:
not some arrogant thing dreamt up by your rabble
Aqua says:
Aqua says:
it was merely a bit of role playing about your council.....but you must be tired
Aqua says:
sorry, go to sleep and we'll talk some other time
Aqua says:
I get tired of this too I gues
Paddy says:
if we talk, can it at least be civilised
Aqua says:
oh I'm hsppy to be civilised
Paddy says:
I do not come on insulting you or your team
Aqua says:
just get annoyed at the arrogance of people like Ljube, but that's my problem I guess
Paddy says:
not sure why you talk to him, he is not a Horde diplomat
Aqua says:
oh well, I chat to anyone I guess.
Aqua says:
I like chatting about games, perhaps I shouldn't get so involbef
Aqua says:
involved
Paddy says:
we are a nation of 800 000
we have a diplomatic corp
Paddy says:
we are not a village of 45 souls
Aqua says:
ok then....do you wish for peace Great Khan?
Paddy says:
yet would you happily chat diplomacy with some fishmonger from an outer settlement?
Aqua says:
errrr.....not sure how to answer that
Paddy says:
The Blood Cell, our Foreign Affairs department would and will dicuss such matters with you, yes.
Aqua says:
Plato?
Paddy says:
he is part of the Blood Cell.
but I do not see you two sorting anything out
Aqua says:
well, perhaps that's because he doesn't seem to want peace on any reasonable terms
Aqua says:
we offer peace. that's it, period
Paddy says:
what is that
Paddy says:
a word
Aqua says:
and of course the potential to trade in the future if we remain friends
Aqua says:
yes, a word. And what would you have it be instead?
Paddy says:
your past actions in that do not hold much
Paddy says:
a city.
Aqua says:
ah, here we go again
Aqua says:
ok, no peace then it seems
Aqua says:
we will not submit to extortion
Aqua says:
so I guess that's it
Paddy says:
you offer a word, we ask for a tangible item
Aqua says:
ok....we will offer a tangible item, in return for one from you also
Paddy says:
I am listening.
Aqua says:
you ask for a city, then we ask for one too
Aqua says:
you ask for a tech, then we will exchangfe
Aqua says:
if tangible is what you wish for, we can accommodate
Paddy says:
do you have a stack of troops outside our lands?3
Aqua says:
no we don'tr
Aqua says:
are your troops brave enough to enter our lands again?
Paddy says:
they did once.
Paddy says:
it is no longer your lands
Aqua says:
yes they did, and they caught us unawares. Perhaps they are not brave enough to chance it a second time
Paddy says:
you ask for peace
Paddy says:
we are here to talk
Aqua says:
in which case, we have a standoff, a stalemate....nobody gains from such a stalemate, and the need to keep a huge standing army as both our civs must now do
Paddy says:
are you coming out to play?
Paddy says:
ahh but you face two armies that you can see
Aqua says:
we have no need to come out to play, we are the defenders, you are the aggressors. We do not wish to make war, you do. To do so, you must enter our lands again.
Aqua says:
yes, we face 2 armies that we can see, yet you do not see us shaking in our boots....at least, not yet
Paddy says:
well of course not yet. we have only just arrived in the last 3 turns.
Paddy says:
and we took Sidon in this time
Paddy says:
Have you moved troops into Invictus yet?
Aqua says:
what has that got to do with you?
Paddy says:
It is in your lands. Any thing in your lands is of interest to me at this time.
Paddy says:
If not peace, then we want a piece.
Aqua says:
I see
Paddy says:
If I have to I will dispatch the Dread "Slicers and Dicers" to your lands.
Aqua says:
and under what circumstances will you "have to"
Paddy says:
That is mine to keep for now.
Aqua says:
of course
Paddy says:
So thus we are happy for peace with you
Paddy says:
We ask not for much. A city.
Aqua says:
oh well, persist in this folly if you much
Aqua says:
must
Aqua says:
nobody gains from this....including you
Paddy says:
And then we can grow together.
Paddy says:
Why?
Paddy says:
One city will not break you.
Aqua says:
no, it didn't
Aqua says:
but another may
Paddy says:
Sidon was far from a city.
Aqua says:
we are already the smallest civ...why insist on making us smaller?
Paddy says:
A new settlement at most.
Aqua says:
why not pick on someone larger?
Paddy says:
You are the target.
Paddy says:
Hello.
Aqua says:
yes?
Paddy says:
One city and Army Group East will not move further.
Paddy says:
Nor will I be needing to utilize Army Group West.
Paddy says:
Peace.
Aqua says:
ok, let's make this simple and stop wasting each other's time
Aqua says:
The Desolation Row will never give you a city. If that is the only thing that will stop yor aggression, then keep building your military and sending them over, and we will keep building ours. And let us not talk of peace again until either one of us perishes or you change your approach. Clear?
Paddy says:
Why?
Paddy says:
Would you prefer to perish?
Are you that proud?
Aqua says:
Perhaps we are.....perhaps we are as proud as you
Paddy says:
Amazing.
Aqua says:
and perhaps you underestimate us...but that is up to you
Paddy says:
Perhaps we do.
Aqua says:
so be it
Aqua says:
anyway, have a good weekend?
Paddy says:
Are you finished with me?
Aqua says:
finished talking about the game I guess, since we weren't getting anywhere and I don't want to piss you off any further
Paddy says:
I am not pissed off in any way.
Aqua says:
well you know what I mean
Paddy says:
You talk peace, and offer that.
Paddy says:
I ask for One city.
Paddy says:
We have taken One already
Paddy says:
Are you so sure that between the units you face that you can keep yourself from loosing another
Aqua says:
I never said we are sure. I said we will fight if we need to. Two very different things
Paddy says:
Ok.
Paddy says:
So you are truely willing to risk your nations against the cost of One City?
Aqua says:
we all play to win. There comes a point where you cannot win if you are damaged too much. In my opinion (mine only), we cannot win if we lose one of our better cities. Therefore, we will fight rather than give one away. Simple logic, that is all
Aqua says:
how many cities does the Horde have?
Paddy says:
And your Council, do they agree with you on this?
Aqua says:
Lost Boys have 10 that I can count
Aqua says:
they are nearly double our size already
Aqua says:
we are already smallest
Paddy says:
They have 10 cities, amazing
Aqua says:
it's not hard to work out......when one is backed against the corner so tight as you wish to do, then you leave no option
Paddy says:
I did not know this of Lodt Boys.
Aqua says:
in any case, if we did give you a city their is no guarantee you wouldn't continue to attack
Paddy says:
We are the Blood Oath Horde.
Aqua says:
exactly my point
Paddy says:
Do you just like to insult.
Aqua says:
that was certainly not an insult
Aqua says:
the Blood Oath Horde has shown itself to be an aggressor against 2 nations so far. That is not an insult, that is a fact. We give a city, how can we trust you?
Paddy says:
You can believe what you like on these matters.
You know your actions and why Desolator Dave died.
Your actions.
As to any other nations, never was your business, never will be the way you talk.
Paddy says:
I am here to discuss terms.
Paddy says:
You offer your word.
The same word that said time and again on Desolator Dave, then did a different thing.
Paddy says:
Then you say I do not keep my word/
Paddy says:
Good one.
Paddy says:
So where is your mighty Army then.
Paddy says:
Put your money where your mouth is.
Paddy says:
We have.
Remeber we are here.
Paddy says:
You type and type, but no words appear.
Does this mean you mouth is going to fast?
Aqua says:
Mate, to be honest, I'm trying to be nice about this because you seem to be playing in character as the Khan. But seriously, you are obviously getting upset and I don't want bad blood between us over this game, and I'd rather just forget the chat than get into a slanging match.
Paddy says:
Interesting.
Aqua says:
ok
Paddy says:
I will leave you at this time then.
It is my hope that you will think this over.
Paddy says:
Good bye.
