Ok, I'm just waiting on Spaced. Considering that he didn't post in this thread yet, he had a character selected at random by me, and his 1st round orders were sent in by Paddy, there is a possiblity of dropping him...

However, he did claim that he was away and would be back...

Dunno, what should I do? There's quite a lot going on this update.

Chapter 2

Chanting religious slogans, the drone-like cultists of Agath Agathari threw themselves at the infidel scum of Lord Vetko's defenses. Scorning such things as lasers as being ungodly, they surged forward in a fleet of 14 frigates.

Vetko awaited the assault with 23 of his "Marquis" class Laserfrigates.

Spreading out to avoid the worst effects of the incoming torpedo barrage was a good plan for Vetko, but 1 frigate was still blown to shrapnel and another damaged as he manouvred his lasers into position. The devout followers of Agathari picked the worst possible moment to launch their 7 fighter squadrons, as the incoming laser barrage had been manouvred to perfection. Although the Agathites fought to the last, sure of a place in heaven, Vetko's gunners had little trouble lasering them all to death.

Chapter 2a

Pylkka was an unknown quantity. The other overlords had never encountered him before. They had no idea what his aims were. The first thing that became apparrent though, was that he had no respect for the established authority of the Party. In fact, rumour had it that he intended to eliminate all "vanilla humans" and replace them with his own superior genetics! Perhaps Kit Chuss should have expected the fleet that dropped out of hyperspace and attacked Kremlingrad.

Pylkka's cruisers jinked for position at extreme long range. Chuss's forces, a mixture of all sizes and types of ship, likewise held back, sending forth a few torpedos to destroy one of Pylkka's Torpedocruisers. Having got into position Pylkka fired his own torpedoes in response. Kit Chuss's admiral panicked as nearly every ship reported incoming torps. In desperation a few ships fired their lasers, but the vast distance between the fleets and the huge number of torpedoes made it a hopeless task. He responded with his own torpedoes, but Pylkka's fleet just kept firing. Ship after ship blossomed as torpedoes ripped the hulls apart. The very last torpedo hit the very last ship in the People's Navy. Kit Chuss was defeated. One torpedo less and he would have survived.

Chapter 2b

Captain Imperium boldy lead his forces on a strike deep into the territory controled by the AI known as Colony 1, pushing his fleet into close range to attack.

Colony 1 activated the automatic defense protocols and made the tactical decision to back off, maintaining the distance between the fleets. Torpedos launched! Fighters launched! Explosions filled the space between the fleets without any harm done to either side.

Captain Imperium jiggled into postion, losing a cruiser to incoming torpedoes, before returning the favour with a skillfully aimed laser barrage. A shame for him that most of the laser shots were needed to stop another barrage of torpedos, but enough laser shots got through to destroy one of Colony 1's droneships.
