I think if I move the cemetary and reconnect the highway it'll work.

Redrew the highway and it works! Now have the connection.

Saving it. I didn't even begin to lower my taxes until 2011 or somewhere abouts then; I cut them a lot more in 2014.

(Oh, and BTW, I was legitimately offered the Casino with no U-Drive-By or anything, so therefore I figured it was just like any other business deal one might be given...)

In the meantime I've been doing some joyriding and joyflying around East Central, Blountberg, and Y City. Driving in East Central is a huge pain and is best avoided, as it involves getting out of alleys and side streets onto the one clogged main road.

Y City was fun to drive in, having wide avenues and freeways. Flying was enjoyable as well. The plot to cripple its industrial base turned out to have extremely high collateral damage due to the clustering of power plants and industry.

Blountberg was somewhere in between, with more roads but heavy traffic. Experiments suggest that a nuclear power plant explosion has the potential to take out the entire new commercial district.

To Bubble Junction:
I added a new avenue from the Blount Manufacturing area, but you'll have to add a bridge to get to it; it's not imperative at this time.
I also added a subway connection near the existing road connection... if you hook that to your commercial districts, a lot of the middle class residents living near my downtown will take it to their jobs in your city, relieving congestion on the road connection.
Our rails also aren't hooking up, maybe you could take a look at that...

Well, from your save it looks like you made a second rail connection to Bubble Junction, and ignored the connection i made. (assuming you created the rail connection after loading my save)

Also, it seems i got a major edge reconciliation problem. I cannot get the avenue connection without doing the reconcile thing...but if i do that i'll end with -$45k and no power plants.

So untill i have the funds to reconcile (or my neighbours reconcile instead ) i can't accept any new connections.

Well, for whatever reason your first rail connection never appeared on my map; I'll see if I can work that out.

If you manually rebuild the avenue connection from my side, you may get it to appear on your side without reconcilation...

Sorry it took so long, here's Y2015: www.atragon.ca/simcity/y2015.rar

Thanks to the road connections between me and EPW and Ludd, I had massive budget surpluses due to tolls on commuters, with this income, I was able to almost completely convert my dirty industry over to manufacturing, start zoning a new industrial district for high tech (anything else that tries to build there gets nuked), expanding my education system to include a new highschool, and starting in on the commercial district.

The only downisde of all this is that I have about half as many industrial jobs as I used to have.

East Central 2020

Rather than continue uncontrolled growth in to the countryside, East Central planners revitalized the downtown area. Middle class residents have begun to move in, while the Housing Authority has built four more high-rise projects to house the low income workforce, which currently makes up 75% of the population.

Key to the Plan was the construction of numerous education facilities in the downtown core, mostly on former farmland and factories. High schools, colleges, and libraries were opened.

Meanwhile the primary school system was improved while costs were cut by the opening of more schools and the elimination of school buses.

Finally, the area around Smiley New Town has been grown into a real subcity, with a downtown business area of its own. Resident incomes are on the rise, and demand in all sectors except high wealth residential and offices remains strong.

Put an end to popups!

It has been another extrodinary five years in Epwood. However, with massive commercial and residential expansion have created a huge strain on the infrastructure. Most pressing was the growing traffic problems. With nearly 20,000 commuters every day coming from Y City and El Dorado, something needed to be done. So Epwood became the first city in the region to build a subway system. Although only 25% done now, it is carrying a huge volume of passengers.

And here is the save:

Blountberg Year 20 in pictures:

The west side of downtown, where most of the new commercial developments are.

Here we see east downtown, and the new mid-density developement across the river in River South.

New suburban developement near the center of the map.

Blountberg To-Do List:
-Expand low density developements into as-of unused areas of the map.
-Expand subway system to allow for more dense deveopment in downtown and River South.
-Increase commercial and residential sectors.

That was a whirlwind 5 years for Y City, though our population 'only' doubled, the last 5 years saw the first high-rises grow in a new development, and the commercial district continued to expand slowly. The most exciting development was the establishment of a new industrial sector on the hill to the north of the river exclusively for hi-tech industries.

A well established series of toll booths ensure a steady stream of income from commuters to and from other regions.

Totals:
Residential: 38,351
Commercial: 6721
Industrial: 6395

It's newyears in Mergdale, but all the lights are out. The Energy deal that had been signed with Fray Bentos was unexpectedly cut at the dawning of the new year, leaving three quarters of mergdale in a black. No other neighbours seem to have any energy to spare, either, so it seems that the mayor will be forced to take out a loan and rebuild and expand the wind generators.

Sorry I played up to February. Just didn't notice the time (mainly because pretty much nothing happened)

Well, a lot did happen. Had plenty of high rise development; zoned up most of the residential density, added a little industry.

Rezoned over a lot of residential at the intersection of Cliffside Avenue and the new Epwood Highway to make commercial, it's now a kind of downtown.

This week's file is a RAR instead of a ZIP.

Another welcome half-point tax cut was enacted in the latter half of the five years. Demand is booming but I don't want to fill in right up to the militaryindustrial complex with residential because it will undoubtedly become a slum. I zoned a little low-density on the other side of Fort Mrmitchell but more will need to be done. Housing prices in El Dorado are ridiculous, no doubt thanks to our four elementaries, state of the art facilites at Patton High, and our city library and museum, and our world class hospital, high paying manufacturing, high tech, and defense jobs, etc...

Oh, and I built a recycling plant for your garbage too.

To do for El Dorado 2025

Slowly move old Epwood Road industrial further to the border

Slowly move militaryindustrial complex further to the border

Add to the new low density zone on the other side of the militaryindustrial complex

Zone more landfill / build waste to energy?
