Today I looked at the Battlefield 2 keyboard, but it looked too complicated.

They have buttons for everything, but you would have to relearn all of them. I think it would be good if you're just starting out though.

Sava,

If you would have actually cared to read about the Z-Board, you would know that the special game keylayouts can be switched easily and that it's not the whole keybord. Keysets cost depending on where you buy from 5-20$.

I played on the oil field, climbed the highest chimney and hit about ten enemy infantry during a round. Not a single one of them died. (Me neither) 0-0-0-0 stats

yeah it does.

A medic has a good chance against that sniper rifle because he can duck behind and heal himself.

Have any of you guys tried the unlocked .50 cal sniper rifle? Is it any good?

Chemical: it takes two hits two kill a guy with the sniper rifle... although I think you can get a headshot in 1 hit and kill a guy. I've done that a few times.

Ted: no I haven't unlocked it yet. It takes forever to unlock those weapons. I don't even know how much farther I have yet to go on the Spec Ops kit. And that's all I play as!

I am assuming you can only unlock one weapon at a time?

I had the medic gun (which OWNZ) unlocked, but then switched to unlock the anti-tank gun. The anti-tank gun is tight. Medic gun is good for long distance as a rifle, the anti-tank shotgun is TIGHT for flag defense.

Alright! I found an old Best Buy gift card, and I happen to be going near a Best Buy today to fix someone's computer, so I can finally purchase BF2. God knows when I'll actually be able to play it (busy, busy weekend ahead), but I'll finally not be restricted to the demo anymore (though it is a fine demo indeed.) Woohoo!

Ted: I had some funny **** happen today when I was playing.

I was on Strike at Karkand (my least favorite map) and I was playing as the MEC. The US was raping raping us. I went on my own to the flag at the top left of the map and secured it. I then planted 5 C4 around the flag site. Then I went to the building that's like 1 block southwest of it. I crouched and hid. Pretty soon, a whole swarm of US players came to take the flag back. 3 guys jumped into the center by the flag, a tank pulled along side it, and a humvee drove up. I detonated it and killed 6 GUYS! ROFL! I was laughing so hard at those morons.

I also had something really lame happen to me. It was on Gulf of Oman. I was in a tank and a helicopter was shooting at me. Just before my tank exploded, I fired a tank shell. But the second I died, it autoswitched me to the other team. The tank shell hit the helicopter. I got charged with a tk and the douchebag punished me. I was like WTF! CMON MAN!

I then changed to a sniper. I waited by the spawn point and every time this dude spawned, I shot him once with the sniper rifle. It's not enough to kill, but he was getting pissed cuz I kept taking his health down really low. I told him not to punish next time, but he kept calling me an ******* and noob, etc. So I spent the rest of the map hunting him down. The only times I killed him were when I was in a jeep. I bailed out at the last second and ran him over. But I didn't get charged with a TK.

I was playing last night, sitting in an air defense turret, and this guy on my team decided he wanted to be in it instead. So he ran up and just kept running in circles around it, jumping in my field of view. I fired a shot at an incoming chopper, and he leaps into it, killing us both. Of course he charges me with a TK After we spawn, he jumps into the turret right away, and spends the next five minutes firing at one of the Oil towers that give off a heat signature... until an enemy chopper flew in uncontested and blew him up

30 points left before I can unlock a weapon. Do I understand it right, can you re-lock an advanced weapon you have tried out for a while and then unlock another?

If you want to play a 1337 sniper, be Chinaman! Semi-auto rocks - 2-3 or max 4 hits will do the job, and you can easily get them. The raghead sniper is 1337 too. I shot down a helicopter with a few random shots, getting 2 kills.

I've read that in the next patch, you will get points for more things, like destroying enemy artillery or repairing your own. If I play Yank, I always start the Clean Sweep map with spawning Special Forces, grab a boat and go destroy the MEC artillery located by the far shore. Very few players bother to repair their teams artillery, and getting shelled is soooo humiliating.

Anyone knows if you can place less than 5 charges before the detonator turns up, and how? I only need 3 to blow all the cannons. Saving some for the radar would be preferable.

That last part is hilarious about the jeep.

That gets really annoying. I've had teammates do this a few times and it's really annoying. I had these two morons throw grenades at my tank because I got it first and then they spawned and got there too late. The tank was down to 25% health. So I jumped out and let them take it. Then I hit them in the ass with the anti-tank missle and blew them up. I got 2 team kills but it was worth it.

Today some guy kept shooting everyone with a pistol because he wanted his squad to monopolize the helicopter. On Mushtuur City, if you don't have a good helicopter pilot, you will lose.

That's cool, because I'm one of the few that defends the main base and repairs stuff. But you don't get jack for repairs it seems like.

Medics and support get lots of points from dropping ammo and health packs, but engineers and special forces don't get jack for blowing stuff up or especially repairing it. It takes forever to repair that UAV building too. You spend like 1-2 minutes on it when you could be out doing other things.

Drop the charges you want (say 2), then right click the mouse to get the detonator to show up. Use the detonator as normal. I think you have to right click again to get the charges back.

I THINK that's how it works, but am not sure.

I originally unlocked the medic gun, but then after a while, unlocked the anti-tank auto shotgun, but could not get the medic gun back.

Both guns PWN.

I tried out the medic rifle with scope last night, but it was like a pellet gun. I hit a lot of enemies with it, but none of them died. A full map with like 10 assists and no kills. I think the body armour is too unrealistic. At least on the other team (no matter which team I play).

Anyone know what language the MEC is speaking? They are supposed to be an alliance between Iran and Iraq, so are they speaking Arabic or Persian?

That's good that they will give points for blowing up artillery. I do that all the time and I'm annoyed you don't get points for that.

Chemical Ollie: If you plant a C4, then press the right mouse button, it will switch to the detonator. Everything takes two charges to blow up... artillery, UAV trailer, etc. Even tanks and the APC's take two.

One cool thing you can do is plant C4's on a jeep, then crash it into a tank and it will blow up the tank. However, it usually kills you. I have yet to find a way to bail out with enough time to not die in the blast.

When can you unlock weapons? My global score is around 800.

That may explain why some, but not all, of the enemy artillery are normally already blown when I arrive. And I never planted less than 2 on an erected cannon, because I wanted to get rid of the charges to reach the detonator, so I didn't learn the number of charges actually needed.

I wondered this too. I assumed it was Arabic. I have some friends that speak Arabic but haven't had them listen to it. I like the language, it sounds nice. Plus I want to hit it with the MEC UAV chick.

In any case, fluent speakers of both languages (or any other language) are easy to find in Rinkeby, Stockholm. I haven't read into detail who the actors are, but it's probably written in the credit list inside the game.

yeah thanks, I was mistaken... my score was actually like 1073 or so... when I started it up this morning, I was able to unlock my first gun. I had to get the Barrett .50 cal sniper rifle. 1 shot kill is so awesome!

But something weird happened after I loaded it up this morning. I unlocked the gun, then it took me to the BFHQ section. Only my name wasn't there and my score was ****ed up. Under name it said "userundefined" and my score was like 15789789345. I tried to unlock other stuff but it wouldn't let me. Damn, and I was hoping a bug would finally work in my favor.

Another thing I noticed. I never upgraded my nVidia drivers when I bought the game. I was at 71.89. And when I patched my BF2, I noticed a peculiar bug that kind of worked to my advantage. Whenever a vehicle drove or flew by me, the texture of the ground turned a weird color. It's useful because I could see vehicles coming behind barriers and such. It was very useful because I would plant C4 around a corner and I would be able to detonate it at just the right time.
