Bush's approval rating drops To 34 % in California

Even Nixon polled better then Bush is doing now. Only 34% of Californians approve of the job Bush is doing and even fewer people (28%) like approve of the Republican's handling of the war in Iraq. Only 36% approve of Bush's handling of the economy while a whopping 57% believe the country is on the wrong track.

By contrast immediately after 9/11 74% of Californian's approved of the job George Bush was doing as President. To take one of the highest approval ratings and to turn it into one of the lowest approval ratings ever recorded is really something.

Sure, shrub isn't running again but Republicans in Congress aren't so lucky. People around here seem to be very upset with Republicans as a party.

With poll numbers this low it seems like Bush is a lame duck President dispite the fact that he only got reelected last year.

DD has a point. I mean, even in the article itself, it said that the difference was mostly Democrats to Republicans. 80% of Dems disapprove while 74% of Repugs approve. 55% unaffiliated disapproved.

well he has to watch his ticker these days, all those cow roids he took as a young man have taken their toll. I doubt he really is in the twating business these days.

I cant tell if Bush is in a bit of a slide or not.

All the press we get about him here seems to show he's still a popular president with the american people(and he slights those darn euro types(like calling the current head of brussels 'a piece of work' etc)).

puzzling for sure, but it seems that way?

On the 5th of this month the polls were showing 52% of Americans disapprove of the job Bush has done. If anything his poll numbers have fallen even further in the last 20 days due to the continuing bad news about the war and the steady stream of Downing Street Memos proving Bush lied.
