Nope, don't thik they are copycats. My guess is that their bombmaker either screwed up seriously or didn't want to participate in further killings and willfully disabled the bombs.

Recently I watched a news feature concerning Malmö (Sweden's third largest city; it has a lot of immigrants and a lot of immigrant-related criminal problems too)...
Person after person (all non-whites) testified about getting special treatment from the swedish police... Pulled over for no reason, talked harshly to and some physical abuses too... I believe these people, what on earth could they possibly gain by going on national TV and to court (this is not the US, so there's no money in sueing)?
Another frequent "inquiry" that journalists (and law students!) do every once in a while is letting non-white reporters/students try to enter night clubs... It's always "full", but 5 minutes later a couple of white guys enter without a problem... Do I have to spell out that the reporters/students look impeccable and are sober when trying?
When confronted the people refusing to let them in always say that the white guys are VIP or special members of the establishment or that you need a club card to get in (which is bs, since the right to sell alcohol is strictly regulated in Sweden and you can't sell in an establishment that only has private members)...
Does that make every police officer or establishment owner a racist? Of course not... Not any more than the minority of immigrants involved in criminal activities makes every immigrant a criminal...
As I said, there are lots of gang-related problems appearing in Malmö now (not anything near the scale in the US, though)... For example, they harrass visitors and staff in cinemas to the extent that there's been fighting in the theater and films have had to be cancelled... Those few rotten apples don't make the whole barrel bad, though...
But you have to be extremely naïve, Asher, if you for a sec believe that people enjoy the same treatment no matter what the colour of their skin is... Racism is everywhere, in every society...

Like I said, racism (and fear of the non-mainstream, whether it's cultural, sexual, religious or otherwise) exists in every society and every culture...
Racism is not only whites discriminating blacks or asians or whoever... It goes in "all directions" and is equally bad no matter who the perpetrator is...

first of all, I don't hate swedes - though swedes lack of understanding of danish can piss me off (professionally, I newer had a problem exceptv numbers - why can't you use plain dosees instead of this metric nonsense
