The real freedom and democracy is to let your friends follow their own instincts, not forcing them to artificially stimulate a cause.
Anyway, in the light of the events the "authorities" will be at least suspicious just reading the Poles issue - no need to tighten the rules ( we are a free world ). In fact, the votes spree in such a short time can neglect their chances to see Poland as a civ in the (upcoming?) expansion.

Quite a shame.

I believe the Poles deserve to be in the expansion pack, but not if it's just because somebody cheated tremendously. And I would hate for such an act to go unpunished. I am torn.

Look Mankind, I too have lots of friends that have been playing Civ from "episode" 1!
But I don't ask them to come on over to Apolyton just to vote on a thread that exists just to keep us "entertained" while we wait for Civ 3 to arrive at our home! (Locutus, I'm kidding!)

Anyway, either there is someone that is creating multiple users just to vote for Poland on this thread, or someone asked a lot of friends to make a favor to "mother" Poland!

OK!!!

i posted an innocent post showing all the settlers who have voted for the poles lately. do u realize that FIFTEEN did not vote for any other civ? after more extensive, but less scientific research, i found that many of those 15 have ONE OR TWO POSTS!!!!! u want proof? proof? proof of what? i DID NOT flat out accuse ANYONE of cheating. i layed out the facts and stated my OPINION that something was NOT RIGHT!!!

While I don´t believe that the fans of the Polish civ are 'faked' users, it really bothers me that the vast majority of them just posted 'Poles 20' or voted for some additional civs that weren´t even in the top 32 at the time. (Note to Mankind and Staszek: I know this doesn´t apply to your votes). So the Poles will soon be in the top 8, leaving the Maya, the Celts, the Hebrew and the Dutch behind them.

jdd200, Zealot et al.: Lately, I have found a nasty habit among Apolytioners - the habit if not reading the previous post in the thread. I have laid out the reason of all the settlers from Poland poping out of late in 2 of my posts in this very thread. So, if you'd care to move your asses and go to page 10 and 11 where I have explained everything....


JellyDonut: Have you not trust in the Polish sense of honor ? Seriously, I know it looks weird, but just because it does is not a sufficient condition for accusing someone of foul play.

LoD, sorry if my last statement was too harsh.

All users who just posted 'Poles 20': Please reconsider if the Mongols, Spanish, Arabs, Inca, Vikings etc. really shouldn´t be in a Civ3 expansion pack. Or did you just want to say 'As long as the Poles are in, we don´t care about the rest'?
