Premarital sex and homosexual sex are basically the same thing-- having sex outside the terms Christianity allows it. But by your bigotry, you contribute to the hatred, discrimination, and non-acceptance of gays by society. And if you are a Christian, you should work against bigotry. Especially considering Jesus' example of associating with Sinners. And once again- any sins we do are not at issue, you are the one who brought up your bigotry as a point of discussion by starting this thread.

I was raised a Catholic, but now, I do not belong to any organized religion. I now have my own independent beliefs in God and Jesus Christ.

So, Christian morality is irrelevant to me.

It's patently obvious to anyone here that your feelings towards homosexuals stems towards how people in your environment have responded to them, which is directly influenced by your religion.

It's not coincidence that homosexuals have the worst time with acceptance and equal rights and harassment in the bible belt in the US. Don't try to deny it.

nah, while a lot of kids do, i never had a problem with boys and girls kissing. chasing girls around the playground and kissing them was one of the most popular activities at my elementary school. Besides, you can probably guess that homosexuality isn't a really big topic here, and kids are generally introduced to it much later than other places...

I'm not sure that premarital sex is specifically prohibited by biblical teaching. Adultery is condemned, but in the Hebrew tradition of the time adultery was sex by a married man outside of his marriage.

Also, times have changed a great deal. It was a lot harder to have premarital sex when you were married at 12 or 13...And a lot easier to avoid adultery when you had 8 wives

I think it's funny how a smart guy like you is so oblivious to how your Baptist surroundings fuel the fires of hate and intolerance for anyone different, even though you persistently claim you don't hate them. Recently, Baylor Freedom has formed ..it's an unofficial campus wide support group for gays and it has the campus in an uproar. so..kaak..perhaps YOU need to be the one to get your facts straight. this is absolutely pathetic.

Remember back in the day when it was thought that being black was a sin? Well I don't, but I've heard about it. Philosophers and theologists had many a "logic" explaination for this. I think this big debate about sexuality is just like that. Hopefully, years later, we'll look back on this and be like "what the fork were we fighting about". Or maybe not, cause there still are people who think black people are from the devil. That's ignorance for yeah, folks.
