I sent to archaic but have heard nothing since-- perhaps I should resend just in case the first turn did not get through

I didn't post for at least half an hour after I sent it IIRC

Congratulations to everyone on our 75th anniversary of the return to Earth. Hopefully we can soon move down to eliminate the usurper threat

I've had turns like that--turns when every move is a mistake and you regret every event-- Ever accidentally switch your former from a condensor or borehole to a sensor (meant to place a crawler . . . .wasting turns and turns of terraforming) ?? How about leaving a fusion unit open for probing and watching your enemy reverse-engineer and negate a tech advatage ?? How about cashing too many crawlers since I " knew" I needed to cash 4 and forgot that two were upgraded ( could have cried the time I did that)----
I don't quite recall where my probes are since I mainly sent them exploring toward Africa and America but I believe I have one that could get to Marr in 5-6 turns or so. ( I'll check when I get the turn but 4 tiles a go is awful slow)-- IIRC they did not have much in the way of tech so getting to them again was not a priority for me

I could hit mainland Australia with a couple of moves to spare on my 4th turn-- I figure you are asking to time your PEG -- fine with me -- as I said before, I am not willing to get in a dispute over it--

Well yes, at least in part. The cart before the horse comment refered to this. I noticed (belatedly?) that none of your skim probes were in port...convinced myself you were going to steal Adaptive Economics from MArr and rush the PEG. I got so wrapped up in that train of thought that I pulled a crawler into Denver so I could rush the project next turn. Space barred the movement, THEN remembered that I didn't yet have AE either and couldn't both get it next turn AND upgrade the crawler. *sigh* Two minerals lost...maybe a turn with them.
Of such seemingly small errors are often sown the seeds of ignominous defeat.
You recall the old poem about 'the want of a nail'?
As I remember it (and my memory is often faulty anymore!)
For the want of a nail, the horse was lost.
For the want of the horse, the rider was lost.
For the want of the rider, the message was lost.
For the want of the message, the battle was lost.
For the want of the battle, the war was lost,
and all for the want of a nail.
Apologies for any error, I cannot recall the poet, either.
