wonders = on (exclude the ones who are unbalanced)
Pollution = definately on (as its a part of the strategy to cope with it, shouldnt be possible to give the fck about pollution and use the old massive production as this strategy then for sure will win ;-) my 0,02$ at least )

Are we going to play with wonders because it's a part of the game?
Ruins are a part of the game too and so is an aleatory map.

well ruins will not show whos the best at the actual map bcz you can get gunpowder or something similar at 1 ad.
Wonders are a part of the game but a couple of them are way too unbalanced and needs to be excluded.

Well, in my opinion there are more than a couple of wonders which can balance the victory. Very early in the game stonehe and labyrinth are very goods even in a map with few goods. Ramayana is very nice too. Special mention to London, Internet, Edison and so on.

Not that I am in the league of the aforementioned players...  BUT I do have my opinions as to a few things, FOOD-4-THOUGHT IFIN U WILL
First,
Pin is one the best as is Gavrushka but both different styles. When I was Patton I got spanked by Pin, maybe about 3 years ago or so, if this is same pin that was in a military overseas, from America that is
Gavrushka taught me some valuable lessons and the of Course Paul and Catete.
I think this is a great setup, where everyone plays everyone!
[Watch out for them thar Jack-boots of Faded Saddam-sad a$$   ]
As for Wonders, the ancient are nice, but some of these players are gonna make ancient a short age experience, so maybe the wonders that start the game wont be that big of a deal??
I would say that London and Eddies lab are two tough ones and then Internet is of course the poor mans ascience vehicle, let everyone else work for it and you reap the rewards!!!   
At any rate, I aint been invited to play would get whooped but just wanted to share these un-solicited,unwarranted but rather important -2-me opinions!!

I been playing long time but seen some good players and some great players, but Allways have fun playing!!
I been having fun playing 2 folks whom are really good, only played them last 6 months or so, but had some fun 6-8 hour straight games, one is Attilla and other is Erni!
Both are great players and have learned much from them, attilla taught me to use farm improvements and Erni taught me mines, mines=gold and farms=growth.
I try both ways, both have advantages!!

My take on why all Wonders except London's should be in. They're a part of a game, and, unlike Ruins, are an integral part of many strategies. My SP game strategies did depend on building certain Wonders.
Edison's can be got by any civ, and help it even one. Internet is the big catch-up wonder. Stonehege becomes obsolete soon. True, it gives a huge boost, but maybe the boost of Labyrinth is almost as big.
My personal opinion still remains wonders on, but sure I'm willing to listen and I want the rules to suit most people.
BTW, if we play without wonders, we'll need to do something with Slavers. How about no building of Slavers once someone discovers Age of Reason?

Hmmm I agree but..BUT R U the one to decide when a player "is showing poor sportsmanship" or having"PC/connection problems"? just asking, for beside me I see several folks whom have had this problem? Or is Gavrushka the Great the final say? If so, PLEASE come over to my pad and help my situation with my PC BECAUSE I am also Frustrated & for it has taken me to my limits and I am tired of it!
For the record, me and erni and me and attilla have played and then they left and have NEVER caused me to go posting and whining online?..

Faded also does this,(WHINING/POSTING) whenever he cant hold his liquor..which seems to be the most of the time 
Have you ever played Patryn online? Patryn has tons of connectivity problems, MOST of the time, by his own admission!!
I can check as well as you can check my history of posting, I DIDNT GO WHINING and crying because this individual crashes like a drunken three legged EWOK because of some problems that he is experiencing, and yes I too have awaited for hours for his return, only to miss a new game??
But alas, I understand that your frustrated and well, sorry but three things as an adult I cant stand,

On another issue Gavrushka, I monitor a lot of traffic in lobbies, why is it that some folks have problems and dont return but are not accused of "poor sportsmanship" or "quitting"..just asking hero
One other point, all this problems that are caused by the sudden need for new server.dat files could you PLEASE figure out why we all seem to need them Mr.Gavrushka??????

Well, that long turn was an exception really. I only take long when I have tons of units in the field. In such a game as settler excluded, if you do not build an army of exporers and hunt every last ruin down, you lose. Usually in a game I only build a moderate amount of explorers and spend most of the time expanding my empire, which doesn't take that long. We have played before, and you have to admit that I did not take that long on those other games. And yes, my connection is pretty bad. In fact, you can probably expect my connection to go out at least once in a game. But, I will restart as much as it takes until I get back on. I hope to have a better connection in about 2 months, but it manages for now. Sometimes it will go days without crashing. Others, it is every 5 minutes. It is frustrating, but since this league should take many months, it won't be that big of a problem, as long as there is a save.

I would have to agree with no wonders. They are a part of the game, but they seem to be a one sided deal when one person gets them. If we use them, I would say that we at least get rid of Exchange, Ed Lab, Stonehenge, Hollywood, Labrynth, and, we probably won't get to it, but things like gaia controller, and nanopedia. Also, if we exclude some, the others just become meaningless, and we might as well exclude all of them. It will put more focus on the flat out strategy that each brings to the other. I suppose the wonder races involve strategy, but after one wins the race, it diminishes the game thereafter and creates a gap that can not be ignored. Having wonders on might create such differences that a person might have to drop all the domestic strategies, and go to all out military with the only hope of a win, being a conquest victory. Here is an idea. Someone make a patch that allows both players to have each wonder for themselves. If both have the ability to build a stonehenge, then there is no problem. Well, if that wouldn't work, then I do not know what to do about the wonder problem. Good thing that I do not have to make the decision.

Alright. I will be in at probably 10pm central, or 4 in the morning your time? tomorrow night. That may be a bit late to continue, and I may have a game to continue with attila then too. So, how is Saturday? I can play all day. And blackice was in that game too, so he may want to be there.
Troll, sorry I crashed tonight. I could not get back on for anything. I was getting like 16k connection speed. When do you want to continue that game?
