Ah! Yes, I knew that the "rien" came before the passé participe. I just forgot!  But I had no idea that "encore" came before the passé participe, too. I learned French for 9 years, but a long time ago!

1 - Pilier Gauche = Loosehead Prop
2 - Talonneur = Hooker
3 - Pilier Droit = Tighthead Prop
4&5 - Deuxièmes ligne (second row) = 2nd Rowers, Locks
6 - Flanker (not sure at all) = Blindside Flanker, Blindside Breakaway
7 - Troisième ligne centre = Openside Flanker, Openside Breakaway
8 - Troisième ligne aile = Number 8
9 - Demi de mêlée = Halfback, Scrum Half, 5/8
10 - Demi d'ouverture = Fly Half
11 - Ailier Gauche = Left Wing
12&13 - Centres = Inside Centre & Outside Centre
14 - Ailier Droit = Right Wing
15 - Arrière = Fullback
There are some variations on these names. In New Zealand, for example, I've heard the Inside Centre called the 2nd Fly Half.

Which probably explains why no one had any problems with him last night. He policed the breakdown well, was sensible with his advantage rulings, but didn't blow the pea out of the whstle. The Boks copped a high penalty count for the simple reason that they insisted on fouling, particularly at the breakdown when deliberately slowing the ball. Skinstad - whom I'm yet to be convinced has a brain in his head - and their hooker were serial offenders. Lander ended up warning them about the sin bin.

If you were to watch the whole match, you'd realise the Boks weren't unlucky. They picked up two tries - one of them an individual effort down the tryline - that, I think, flattered their scoreline.
In fact, if Matt Burke hadn't missed 2 penalties and a conversion that he'd normally pot with his eyes closed - and Mortlock, who took over the kicking when Burke went off, hadn't missed a pretty easy penalty and another conversion, the scoreline would have better reflected the game. And I wouldn't have done my Civ Gold! 
The Boks were blitzed for most of the first half, lifted after the Wallabies lost 2 players to the bin - more on that later - and had a better second half. Certainly, the Wallabies were guilty, again, of taking their foot off the accelerator, though not as markedly as before. It's something they have to deal with. It almost looks like a loss of concentration.
All that said, it was a terrific, tough, entertaining match. And the Boks are a very promising outfit. I really think, though, that they do themselves a huge disservice with the attitude and tactics they take onto the field. Their priority seems to be aggro and fouling. They've got some terrific skills - as they showed later in the game - but they seem to be treating them as the second string to their bow.

It all started prior to halftime when the Bok fullback took out Chris Latham with a very ugly tackle - shoulder straight into the nuts - while Latham was in the air. There was the usual bout of remonstration, but then it exploded. The Bok #3 must have done something fairly untoward because he was set upon. Even Steve Larkham was after him, which is a very, very, very rare sight. Justin Harrison and Jeremy Paul were pinged for punching. Rightly so. It was stupid play.
But I'm dying to know what the Bok #3 got up to that had even mild-mannered Steve Larkham after his blood. There was a report in this morning's media that a player - the team wasn't identified - was seen kicking an opponent. I've got the game on tape so I'll have a very close look.
The brawl aside, and the usual aggro that goes on aside, the match actually featured several miniature episodes of good spirit. More than once, both sides were to be seen helping their opponents to their feet. You don't see it much.

The Wallaby blitz in the first half produced some magical rugby. The first 2 tries were blissful - superb angles, handling and timing. But they're going to have to keep their minds on the job a lot more than they do. One of the Bok second-half tries exposed a defensive weakness, so the Wallabies are going to have to improve there, too. With great respect to the Boks, the ABs will take greater advantage of defensive problems.
If the Wallabies play as they can, they'll win. Ditto the ABs. It promises to be an enthralling game.
